It must take a long time to put up that many trees. But I bet it's worth it. I know they are so beautiful. It would be awesome to see all the beautiful ornaments you have collected. What a wonderful thing to collect. I wish you lived close enough , I would love to see all the beautiful trees and ornaments. ❤😊
We put lead tinsle on our tree. We also had the star from "It's a Wonderful Life" that the Bailey's put on their tree. My grandfather brought it home from the studio when he worked at Warner Brothers Studio. He was a cameraman.
I love them as well. Brings back childhood memories. We had the different colored ones like they show here. My Grandmother also had the original silver tree with the wheel that made the tree appear to change colors. Im 65 and oh boy do i miss those day's.
I am a Civil War Re-enactor. One year I went to Fort Clinch for the Thanksgiving/Christmas weekend. We had a tree with real candles (and someone stationed next to it with a spray bottle in case it caught fire) homemade Christmas ornaments (I've made them too, and would not part with the six I have) a Thanksgiving meal with all the 1860's trimmings, and a table that groaned with desserts. Wonderful, period experience
I use many of the “lost” items you mentioned. Truth be told many folks (many of them younger) are just lazy and have little regard for older ornaments, traditions, and Holiday crafts. Many decorations are also taken down well before the 12 days of Christmas are even over.
Popcorn chains were made with 1 - 2 day old 🍿.. cranberries for color or short slips of ribbon. Then put out side for the birds Construction paper chains , held together by paste or Elmer's school glue
We're not dead yet, Nostalgia Avenue. Many people still decorate with many of these "lost" Christmas decorations. And yes, we still say Merry Christmas.
Aluminum tree..... in my living room right now. I love my tree(s), I have 3. My 2ft tree is in the center of my dinner table. The new LED fairy lights work great.
I guess I'm old fashion but I have over 250 GLASS icicles. The shortest is 5" the longest is 7". I have always purchased Kurt Adler but started finding them on Amazon for less. There are no plastic anything on my tree. My ornaments have gone through, myself, my children, grandchildren and now great grandchildren. My mom used angle hair on her trees back in the early 50's and those trees looked like they were glowing... It was fiberglass but they were stunning. Call me old fashion but bubble lights are amazing❄.
My grandparents had a aluminum tree with the color wheel and the color wheel would turn the branches looked like they were moving. I always thought it was pretty.
When it was announced that lead tinsel would bd discontinued, I bought every package left in one small store. That was years ago and I still have unopened packages hoarded!
now that they make led lights that don't get hot, wish they would bring back the angel hair. It was so pretty & made the tree look so magical. apparently they were a fire danger..
Asbestus, so not a fire hazard but a health hazard. A lot of these Al generated things are simply wrong. Full of mistakes. Eg. Bubble lights went away by at least the seventies, because I remember trying to find them as a teen. No longer made. Safer versions did come out at some point about 20 years ago or so. They were not replaced by LED lights because no such thing existed back then. We had asbestus drapes in our house as a child in the 60s. No angel hair. Mom did not like it. We did have tinsel, which I love, but I have cats, and it can kill them. It isn't just things like this full of mistakes. If it is AL generated, no matter the subject chances are it is full of mistakes. Often totally wrong.
I have glass icicles and glass ornaments. And I make a few ornaments each year. There are thousands of videos on YT about making your ornaments. Candles on trees aren't missed, nor messy tinsel or angel hair.
Urm, pretty sure CHRISTMAS cards are still brought and sent in droves at Christmas time. I know this is just a stupid AI program touting out nonsense but maybe check your AIs information before posting this guff?
german hand made baňky and tinsel garlands did not dissapiered also tinsel icicles dissapierd, well in central europe a tree is not finished without them-also you can reuse lik 90% of them next year. what is fashionable in the USA is not the same as Europe so saying something dissapierd without specifying a country/continent is just lying to viewers faces
I have 4000 glass ornaments, collected since the 50s, I put up 14 trees a year 😊
It must take a long time to put up that many trees.
But I bet it's worth it. I know they are so beautiful. It would be awesome to see all the beautiful ornaments you have collected.

I remember lead tinsel when I was very little. Wouldn’t use it now ! And my dog used to like to eat the plastic tinsel so I just stopped using it .
I have a few pieces of lead tinsel.
Omg,😮
What a beautiful memory to have.😊
I still use tinsel icicles even though my mom hated them, the ex hated them, most everyone I know hates them but I love the twinkle they add.
I too LOVE tinsel icicles Anna! Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
I LOVE tinsel! I use it every year.
You keep them, they give you plasre!
I love the twinkle too, but our cats won't leave it alone. For their safety, I don't use it anymore.
I love them as well. Brings back childhood memories. We had the different colored ones like they show here. My Grandmother also had the original silver tree with the wheel that made the tree appear to change colors. Im 65 and oh boy do i miss those day's.

I have glass icicles and bubble lights on both our trees.
I STILL use icicle tinsel.❤

i have bubble lights still and the box they came in, love them

I still use fluff snow, angel hair and ice cycle tinsel . When my AC kicks on, my tree shimmers. Merry Christmas to all . 🎄🌴🎁💕
Omg , i forgot about the angel hair.😊
What an awesome thing to save.
My mother had glass icicles and bubble lights and also some plastic decorations we put together like a cross.
AI narration. Many of the photos don't match the narration. Feather trees, cornucopia, paper snowflakes aren't shown. No "like" for this one.
I agree. rather disappointing video.
Agree. Also her overly perky voice was very annoying.
I don't know why your not getting the photo to match the narration but mine was perfect. Love this video. 😊
@@janthieme3024 Because they don't have photos of those. Watch again.

I would rather have a Christmas tree, like we had as children , they were so beautiful 😊
@@Della-i6j....
Yes they were
My grandparents had a aluminum tree with the color wheel and the color wheel would turn the branches looked like they were moving. I always thought it was pretty.
#6 I believe this is a reference to kugel ornaments, not cougar.. 😬
I just started collecting Kugel ornaments.
That as embarrassing. The author tries to come off sounding so authoritative on the subject. I cringed throughout this entire video.
Loved this. Thank you!!!!!
Glass blown ornaments are still made
🎄☃🎄⛄🎄
When it was announced that lead tinsel would bd discontinued, I bought every package left in one small store. That was years ago and I still have unopened packages hoarded!
Bubble lites!
Ahhh, no love and care from a human went into this video. I love a good video where very few of the images actually match what they’re talking about!
Yo aún conservo las luces con burbujas quisiera saber dónde puedo encontrar más. Saludos desde México 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Love this--memories!

We use to put real candles on our tree, we just never lit them
I have a box of the vintage animal ornaments.
You forgot another Christmas Decorations that people forgot was The Christmas Blowmolds.
Omg😮
I forgot about them and the angel hair, i may be getting old.😅
This video is full of lots of mistakes. The person narrating has little knowledge of nostalgic Christmas items.
A lot are still around and sold
Snow flakes Santa stockings
I miss being a child. Everything was beautiful to us in those days.
Aluminum trees were not loved all that much.
I hated them
I loved the old aluminum tree we had and was pissed with my mom when she donated it to her job .
Back when they were first made, they were considered completely tacky. They only became popular in recent years because of how kitchy they are.
I loved our silver tree growing up and I love the one that I have now.
Then yes but now they are wanted
I am not buying anything plastic anymore. . That should be a challenge! I will have to be more creative without it. 😊❤
Urm, pretty sure CHRISTMAS cards are still brought and sent in droves at Christmas time.

I got exactly two cards this year after sending many out. They are definitely outdated now. Sorry to see the tradition disappear!
So tinsel wasn’t eco friendly. Neither are any of the plastic decorations made overseas.
