Had to read all comments before I add my favorites. Such as The Odd Ball Couple, based the TV show The Odd Couple. It had a dog & cat living in a New York apartment together, can't remember the dog's name but I know the cats name was Spiffy. The other for gotten cartoons is Here Comes The Grump ! & The Reluctant Dragon & Mr. Toad Show. No one hardly remembers these cartoon. The ones in this video are very common and to me are well known.

A lot of BS. Most of these things are very popular still. Tinsel garlands are aplenty, hand made blown glass decorations, christmas cards, are still everywhere. Christmas crackers are in every house in the UK. And, I just bought 4 boxes of bubble light in NY at 2 different christmas shops. An most images you used to illustrate the nonsense you are saying are modern, so most of this still exists. Except for a couple of the items you mentioned, the rest is still common or very common.

Had this clip been one of those cartoons it would have been cancelled as well due to the over use of unrelated, boring clips with remotes, popcorn and pets! I did enjoy the cartoon parts however!

I'm 60 years old and I grew up with these cartoons of the 70's and they might not have been around very long but as a kid in the 1970's I remember Hanna-Barbera and many other cartoon companies that were on the Networks NBC, CBS and ABC when they were still good networks with great programs especially on Saturday Morning thanks for the great memories of classic television thank you.🇺🇲📺🇺🇲

I was a child in the 1960s. I recall the Beatles, the Herculoids, Frankenstein, jr. and the Impossibles, Shazzan, Arabian Knights (Ah, Banana Splits!), barely recall Samson and Goliath, The Adventures of Guilliver, and Cool McCool.

I still buy blown glass ornaments every year, and give them as gifts, too. They make far more than just animals, and Old World Christmas company is the best (no relation to them, no perks for saying so, I just love them!) I can order right from them. Though they can be found on the big A, not all sellers send them with the brand’s box, and the price is the same from the company, (shipping very nominal, may be free with a certain dollar amount), and I’d rather give them the higher profit margin. Easier to see exactly what they have, too, without other brands woven in. The filters don’t always work well, do they, on the big A? (I get no perks for saying so, just sharing what makes them the best. They’re very well-received, heirloom quality ornaments, and glass, but not too fragile; not too thin, that is, a light tap won’t shatter them, but knocking over the tree, especially on a hard floor, might…Or might not). They come in a green, company Christmas-themed cardboard gift box with clear plastic viewing window, (like a bakery cake box would) to see what’s what, with bubble wrap or tissue wrap to pack them away. I always check each one before gifting, and tell people it’s why the sealed edge is lifted and replaced. They’ve always been perfect, but I can also put them back in just so, to show the ornament for best presentation. In fact, I just got a couple more for next year that arrived today, (5 days after Christmas). I buy them throughout the year, and tuck them away for Christmas presents. They’re best given early, around tree-trimming time, of course. I can give relevant ones of some theme they love, (birds, cats, dogs, tigers, bears, stars, Christmas itself, little churches or religious theme, musical instruments, occupations, worldwide travel, everyday life items, etc., they have loads of variety). or to commemorate special things they’ve done, or special events over the year. They can mark their lives with them, and they’re beautiful, with just the right, slight touch of well-glued glitter (no sloppy glue jobs) to highlight and catch the light, but mostly there’s just a soft, lovely sheen to them. I hang a few ornaments all year to cheer up a corner or window. They also sell miniature ones, better for smaller, tabletop trees. I suppose some smaller ones, dotted in among the others, could work for even greater variety, especially the big and small hearts, birds, etc. **They have the very best hand-painting and overall quality, and are an older company than most today, not super old, since 1979, 45 years, but they ARE using the methods of the 1800’s. They’re still mouth-blown, lined with liquid silver, and hand-painted. (I had to look them up, to see what makes them so beautiful and better than the others).** There are one or two other new brands than come in second, but they definitely come in second. They don’t have the sheen, which must come from the silver lining inside; nor as good a painting; nor the concise and minimal glitter placement, less quality control. Then there are just lousy ones. And a designer who overprices his. So, it’s Old World Christmas for me. If I’m going to buy them, they’re going to be the best I can find, and can keep adding over the years, and they’ll look good together. And I buy them for myself, also of course. Love ‘em! >>>And not one picture was shown here of actual Cornucopia Christmas Ornaments, Paper Snowflakes, or German feather trees, but people can look them up.<<<

As a kid in the 60s i can tell you why they failed... THEY SUCKED!!! Maybe if I was a 10-year-old dropping acid I could have related to them, otherwise they were just too bizarre. Edit... Their were MANY great cartoons of that time. The ones you mentioned were NOT on that list.

I still send proper hand written Christmas cards. I'm irritated by the family photo cards sent out en masse without any thought. We also make popcorn and fruit garlands for our outdoor trees so the birds can eat them, also crackers are still used throughout the British isles not just the UK and so I still use them although my American hubby hadn't seen them before.

With only one channel in the 1960s cartoons were limited in my Canadian town. I do remember - and really enjoyed Frankenstein Jr. I did get to see more well-known shows like Bugs Bunny, Yogi Bear, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Popeye and Beany & Cecil. There was a Canadian produced hero series called Rocket Robin Hood. It was kind of cheap but had a snappy theme song. We didn't get color TV until 1973 so I watched all of them in good old black and white on a Eaton's "Viking" TV. Good times.

I know most of those shows. Mission Hill still stands out for having the most non-typical gay couple on television. Mighty Max was a thrill ride of a series with a unique art style that still stands out. Funny thing about Samurai Pizza Cats is that the localization team didn't have the scripts or any notes about characters or plots. They pretty much had to watch it and make up names and motivations for everyone. And in a way they held true to the heart of the show, by spoofing western media the same way the original spoofed Japanese media.

I use many of the “lost” items you mentioned. Truth be told many folks (many of them younger) are just lazy and have little regard for older ornaments, traditions, and Holiday crafts. Many decorations are also taken down well before the 12 days of Christmas are even over.

That’s nuts! They’re missing out. It seems like that personality type shows up in their everyday life. Certain people are less joyous to be around, and value little of what really matters in life. Likely selfish and materialistic, too. Just tends to go together.
