naturalclarkwork Check this out: Dean Stockwell and Scott Lawrence (who played Tibby) both had recurring roles in ANOTHER Don Bellisario series called JAG! What do you want to bet Scott asked Dean to do the ABC Rap on the set? And JAG was the precursor to NCIS!! **Drops mic...** 😉
I miss Quantum Leap. Such a great show, so many good story lines. Some really powerful episodes and scenes, like when Al was 'dancing' with Beth, and when he and Al scrooged the businessman. I wish they'd do a movie, or a new series of it, I know they were thinking of doing it a few years ago.
I’m here in the future to say, for good or ill, a new series (which is a continuation of the originals series, not a reboot) starts on September 19th!!
Whenever I seen Scott Lawrence after seeing this episode that is all I picture in my head no matter how serious the role was I just break out in smiles and start singing the ABC rap in my head.
I remember as a kid I couldn't believe they did this it's hilarious! LMAO! I also love how this is the first time Al actually had to be the one to right what once went wrong because Sam was completely incapacitated.
Thank you all for you kind comments. JtgFletch, This is actually MY birthday too, I uploaded it to cheer myself up. ;) Gary Macrae, I would have left it a little longer but I do believe it distorted on my copy after that so I didn't. Alucard, I think the idea was that Dean Stockwell does NOT rap, to make it cooler, a guy like him doing that is actually great! He's supposed to look awkward and goofy.
I'm late to the party here, but thanks also for posting the tune. I miss the good old days and the shows we used to have. some are good, and other ones are totally trash.
I know. It's really fun to see Al rap, but I always felt this plot point made the story a bit weak. Although it wouldn't have been a complete solution, it might have helped tha story if they had the letters project from the handlink as Al was singing them.
@@documentmedic9385 a) You're taking the scene a bit too literally b) you can't properly teach someone to read in a TV show. The idea behind this is that by Tibby learning the alphabet it would give him the confidence to take things further and actually apply it to learning to read. A lot of the changes in people's lives through out the series had to do with giving people the strength to help themselves.
Because people with mental disabilities don't see the same way out that we do, they have a very active open imaginations and never lost their innocence that they had from children from believing in Santa Claus and the Easter bunny, so they can see L because their minds are open enough to. So can non-mentally disabled small children if you remember.
hillbilly peak because everyone in the mental institution except for the people that work there are crazy didn't you watch the show sam isn't the only person who can see al little kids animals retarded people and mentally insane people can see him too. little kids can see him but only children the age of five can see al on the show they said it was because children the age of five are pure of heart and don't have any sins that's why they can see him however i don't know if i completely buy that bs and bullshit explanation i did back then though. a more logical explanation is little kids can see al because they are tuned to his brain waves and their brain waves are the same.

Oh don't come here with that race stuff, man LOL. It's rap because usually rap is easier to remember with the rhyming and beats. And plus the idea of Al rapping is hilarious.
Dean Stockwell can do many things, but rap is not one of them. This is still pretty cringe worthy years later. What's worse is that the full song is actually on the soundtrack CD too no less. Definitely would have preferred the space for that taken up by "Rock the Redhead" from the episode Glitter Rock but oh well.
This will forever make me laugh and cry from now on. Rest in Peace Al.. You never failed to make me smile, thank you for everything
💯%
RIP Dean Stockwell, thank you for all the memories.
You're welcome.

Rest In Peace, LEGEND!
Al was great
At the end I can just imagine all those guys going "We Love you Ms. Hannigan!"
What a legend of a actor Dean Stockwell, and will be truly miss but he will live on helping Dr Sam Beckett find his way home. Be it on earth or above.
I love Al so much. I'm here to let fellow Quantum Leap fans know, that Dean Stockwell, who portrayed Al, died on Sunday 7th November 2021.

Wow. I didn't dream this.
i always loved this rap
So after Al taught Tibby to read,Tibby went on to the university.

Me too I just recently started watching it and I’m almost finished with season 3
I am here to help algorithm so people could see this masterpiece
RIP Dean Stockwell.
I think about this a lot
That beat goes fucking hard. Real Hip Hop!
I think the last line in the clip sums it up perfectly, "What the hell is going on in here?!"
🤣🤣🤣
THIS WAS UPLOADED ON MY BIRTHDAY
I wish you kept it going to when the pillows started flying

M.C. AL! Get him a iced out chain and a grill!

Al wrote a kind rap. ❤
Boogie Woogie!!
No, that's rap! LOL!
From the season 3 finale
The leap after Sam and Al switch places
Very strangely enough Al is now trying to put right that once went wrong,...... but he’s not the one that’s leaping around in time.
only bc sam couldnt bc of the electroshock making him act like all the ppl hes lept into
Yeah I know.
I'll show this to my niece to teach her the alphabet, except I'll stop it before the "What the hell is going on here?!" part.
Patrick Gaddis I think Dean Stockwell did a whole album of songs to teach kids to read after this. Look into it, that might be nice for your niece.
@@barbcast you wouldnt happen to know the name of the album would you ?
OMG I realize that when I was learning english I memorize the alphabet like this! I still sing it when getting things alphabetical

I believe Dean was a wonderful and loving grandpa!
The Jump the shark moment.
No idea how this makes or gives the guy ability to read.
