I expected brilliance from President Obama and he delivered....and then some. Amazing.
I remember the first time I heard Obama speak. I told my husband he would be president. My black husband said that would never happen.
Too bad about the war crimes, though. :/

He was a shitty president though. He is the reason we got Trump. Bending over for shitty republican policies, staying in Iraq and Afghanistan longer than any president. Deporting more people than Trump, Biden or Bush combined. Drone striking families similarly to Trump. I mean, there is a reason people hate politicians. I understand that he is black and thats a reason people defend him so much but he was pretty shit. Not as bad as Bush but not much better than Trump.
Obama is one of the most articulate statesman of our times. One class act, listening to him speak from the heart leaves you wanting to hear more to lift your spirit and be a source of joy and blessing for others.

“Do not boo…vote” such a quick, in the moment statement that hits extremely hard. I love the energy that has been building since the announcement of Kamala, and it’s the biggest worry for me personally is that we could possibly have a similar issue with voters thinking “well there’s no way Trump gets elected, Hillary got this one in the bag, I don’t need to go out and vote” like we did in 2016. Get out there and vote. Volunteer to drive your neighbors or friends if they need to, and encourage them to get to the polls and vote if they feel like they might not need to.

Watching LIVE across oceans with NO bias for both parties, I honestly and sincerely think that former President Obama just knocked the Republicans off the table. President Obama was brilliant as always. His message to America was clear and simple. I can't think of any GOP politician who can measure to his eloquence. Not even Vivek can hold a candle to him. But then, let's see what the US wants come Nov 5. God bless America.

Let's not let ourselves down with the flashy golden calf, and go for the goal of love and caring and honesty. Let's not let ourselves down and fail to give her a Senate and a House that is reasonable and not obsessed with Trump. The current folks, or some of them, seem to want to punish us for holdng Trump to account for real crimes and they are doing it by attacking innocent people or those uninvolved with politics.

What a powerful message from a powerful speakerZ
Michelle and Barack were spot on and Barack was so spot on and blunt with his observations and comments about trump's message. The bit about how people's disgruntled viewpoint of government was so spot on and the reason I believe trump's populist message in 2016 was able to take such deep roots. For whatever reason(s) so many millions believe the Fed gov't can do them no good, or their neighbors, or state and so they have given fealty (really it comes down to bending the knee as most won't even harbor any discourse or conversation that speaks against what their views are even if presented with logical arguments) to a person.
The eloquence and articulate nature of both those speeches, combined with their content was such a breath of fresh air when you compare them to any speech given on the other side of the aisle (as they were apt to phrase it).
I had never heard Michelle speak in public before. While she is articulate, I found Barack to have better oratory skills simply because he has improved his skillset to include bits of humor that she didn't master (at least in this speech). The only negative against Barack is he can be a bit cerebral/intellectual at times, which can have the same effect on audiences as trump's rambling oratory (e.g. people, particularly later in the evening start to drift and don't follow the information given), but I followed all of it, loved so many references and observations, and just wish more people could truly listen to all of it and synthesize it.
GO HARRIS/WALZ 2024 and beyond.

Obama's speeches are as good as I remember them being. I'm not a giant fan of him as a politician but damn could he admittedly give good speeches, just wish it didn't go on so late.
Slightly nitpicky but I disagree with you on the Hillary bit. If I wanted a party that was just going to pretend someone was better than what they were I'd support Trump. Don't get me wrong, I'd still absolutely take her over Trump, and the shots on her are admittedly a bit childish, but the democrats already leaned heavily into this idea of trying to shame people into not criticizing her and it doesn't work. That said this convention is about moving forward, not looking backwards so I'll leave that there.
