I ordered two of the kits, the butterfly and the hummingbird. I can't wait to make them. Thank you for demonstrating how to make these, you are a very good instructor and artist. I look forward to your soldering video. This will be my first stained-glass project.
I've been watching your videos. And im truly impressed! I just ordered the butterfly kit from you. And plan on ordering many more! My wife and me are looking to do this as a summer job for local vendor events, and craft fairs!!
I am a beginner. Your videos are very useful and interesting. I like the owl, butterfly and the feather. Can I order those beginner suncatchers? Will that be shippedto Toronto?
Greetings Michelle, Thank you for a really nice instructional video for these wonderful pieces. You’re a good teacher and fine artist! Please continue with your good work. ViP
What type (material) of wire is that, it looks silver tone, but is it just like typical spool of beading wire (which probably comes in brass tone, silver tone, copper tone, etc)
Yes, I did patina a few of them but not all. I usually decide once I’m finished if I want the solder lines to “fade away” I usually do patina, it kind of makes the glass stand out more. Thanks for your order, enjoy!
Hi Michelle, You are the only artist that I know of that sells kits. The price is great, if I mess up, I won't feel too bad. I ordered 2 so far and I'm going to purchase more. I would love a dragon fly suncatcher. If I don't want to patina my piece. Do I use steel wool to clean it up, if so what kind, fine or course. Thank you so much for your videos and kits. I can't wait to start!
Hi Therese, thank you so much! I will be making more kits available in the future, I’ll be sure to keep the dragonfly in mind. If you choose to keep your solder lines silver, you can simply wash with flux remover and polish and be done, that’s really all I personally do. I HAVE seen where some people DO like to use a fine steel wool pad to clean solder lines, then white vinegar. There are lots of different tricks and ideas different people use. As you learn and see what others do, you will adapt and find your own way that works well for you!
I love your videos. I have a lot of trouble with cutting/grinding. My pieces don’t seem to fit together right. Also glass fusing. I have a kiln because I do ceramics and want to try fusing. I want to do something if possible with all the stained glass scraps.
Thank you! And it just takes practice, I’m still learning every day. And yes, I’m always looking for new ways to use up scraps! I use a lot of my art scrap for mosaics and I use a lot of my fusible scraps for scrap bowls and dishes. I want to soon try a pot melt. Thanks for the comment and feedback, have a great day!
Thrilled to have found your videos! Just starting out and love the idea of starting with one of your sun catchers! Thank You! Would love to do a dragonfly sun catcher? Do you have a kit for that?
Great video instruction! You have a talent for this job! My like and subscribe to you! Keep making beauty! You are doing great! I wish you creative inspiration! Best wishes Mr.Hi! :)
Hi, thanks for watching! To try and answer your questions: How to keep solder from falling from iron? Make sure iron is not too hot and practice! Solder still falls off my iron, just keep slow and steady, you’ll get it! Soldering iron tip size? I do prefer a smaller tip for more precision and detail and to achieve a slender bead. But you can make any size tip work for you. Again, practice. I practice every day and am still learning :) hope that helped? Thanks again, enjoy!!
Hi, I have finished your owl, bee, hummingbird and butterfly. Will you be offering any other different kits? They were great beginner kits and can't beat the price!!
@@susansiderssmith yes, I plan to add more! Thank you for the feedback, I’m so happy you are enjoying them! :) I will update my website as I add more videos with kits. Spinners are in the near future. And another 5 beginner suncatchers :)
