Would like to take over 2015 1290 super Adventure, but have some concerns about its reliability , mainly fuel pump, plugged fuel intake strainer, fuel gauges sticking etc, ould love to hear your opinion (42 years with Beemers, last 10 on a GSA the hell if I know how many miles in 3 continents all sort of terrain and weather conditions ZERO issue other than a Front telescope seal replacement on my 09 12GSA)
1290 Super Adventure has a safety flaw in its design, the motorcycle has a major safety problem. I bought mine six month ago and since day one I have been experiencing head wobble at speed ranging from 100 to 120 mph. I contacted the dealer and they said “there is a software upgrade regarding the head wobble” I took the motorcycle to the dealer, after the software upgrade I discovered that the four setting for the damping is not working any more there is not difference in the performance between sports, street, comfort or off-road.
You have copy pasted this in every 1290 SA review now. I am a KTM dealer and have tried 3 different 1290 SA at over 240 km/h without a problem. We had one with a speedo wobble, so we did what KTM told us, fix the steering bearings and add a software update. Then it had no problem. We have more 1290 SA on the road that than all of your comments in 1290 SA reviews with no problems. Those to ride with cases over 150 km/h will have to get the high speed floating case system. Get your fact straight boy. I have tried a K1600 and at 200 km/h it has a speedo wobble too, so does a ST1300 and FJR1300 with the wrong setup.
Since you are a dealer you should have known that the head wobble is a design flaw, and KTM know all about it the only think they did is to disable the "comfort and street mode " on the front forks. now you tell me "Mr, dealer" that this is not true.
1290 super also. Never missd a beat bar i did get head stock wobble ie (tank slaper/threw a waight) ect kind of feal...at about 80mph could not leave go of the bars. Or relax so to speek... i removed head stock berrings replaced with new. Never had an ishue with it again...did own a 990 adventure same thing...but was not head stock...i changed wheel waights had wheel rebuilt changed wheel berrings brake discs ect ect... head stock berring still same problem... changed tyre...fixd 😂😂. Scorpion mt09 21" and im not only one who had same ishue with this tyre... win some loose some. Joys of biking. Do your home work dont dive into dealer ahhhh its broken ahhhh its making a noise. Be a man and throw all girly screems out the window and get out the tools. That said i was a little put off striping the 1290 but im to hands on to let another man play with my tools 😉. Any way did you find corse of your wobble? Was it somthing trivia
I have the 1290 Adventurer and was wondering if anybody has changed seats on this one. I would like to find a different seat for both or just passenger seat. Other than that I love the bike.
+C_R_O_M__________ Just what you saw on the video - hard packed dirt and a bit of loose gravel. It did great but obviously the limit is going to be its tires which are far more road oriented than off. The semi-active suspension definitely helps though.

Not true. get it fixed and it will be steady up to 250 km/h.

Is the heat to the legs too high for summer riding?
