- Опубліковано 14 лип 2024
- In this tutorial, I go over how to edit your GoPro slow-motion footage in apps such as LumaFusion and iMovie. We go over the basics explaining what slow motion is and how it works when capturing it on devices like a GoPro, Drone, or other cameras. It's important to understand frame rates when editing your slow motion footage and how it affects the playback speed.

Great explanation, you did a great job. Explained exactly what I was looking for 👍
Thank you I’m glad you found it helpful
Thank you for making this one I am new to GoPro and video editing and these really help.
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it
love this channel for videos like this
Excellent demo. Thankyou.
Awesome vid with many thanks 👍💥
Thank you for making this video....

👍
Very helpful thank you!
Great information! Happy New Year!
Thank you and happy New Year’s to you as well
This is such a great video. Thank you 😭😭😭
Brand new to the GOPRO HERO 9 black, Just taken a few pratcie shots at variouse settings and on GOPRO really amazing; but once into FLIMORA X = same issue as you have discussed. With an adjustment = Now I have it and its perfect .... thank you very much
Superb dude .. helps out a lot ✌️🙏
Love it, I use iPad for everything. Love lumafusion and I love your channel.
Thank you. I love the combination editing on an iPad and a luma fusion👍
Great info. Thanks
Great video. Thank you
Thank you
thank you sir and this help me a lot
Good tutorial, because it could really confuse someone when they transfer a slow motion clip from their GoPro to another device, and now it's not in slow motion. Very well presented. Happy New Year.
Thanks Ron and happy new year to you as well
Good job. 👍
very good 👍
Excellent information sir thanks... One question is that I recorded slow motion By Gopro 9 is showing slow motion in gopro screen but when transferred same footage to my PC same footage is playing like normal like 24 frame footage please give some solution tks
great video
Thank you
Hey thank you for this tutorial. I just have a question, if i am trying to capture a video doing some fast activity of playing some sports like ice skiing, soccer etc, what should i turn the settings or frame rate as in order to capture best possible cinematic slow motion clip ?
What is the best frame Per Second setting for recording a sports activity.
Also, i am confused that shall i record the video in the standard mode and then slow it down or record it in slo motion by changing the setting in the Go pro itself. Which is better. I recently purchased Go Pro 10. Please do clarify this point
Good tutorial
Thank you
I definitely appreciate ur video content, my question to u is. Do u rather the go pro line or dji osmo action? To film ur family adventure, but I do notice ur gear have go pro. Thanks for all u do,helping everyone to get better with what they have.
So, if you filmed at 240fps but when editing only slowed it down by 1/4 not 1/8, would the video of the ball/moving object be even smoother? This video is SO informative even though I don't use iPad or iPhones. It's helped me loads
Sean I could listen to you all day as your presentation is relaxed but concise. As a total beginner should I be looking at your setup with Lumafusion etc. I need to keep it simple too but I’m struggling with 13” MacBook Pro 15” and iMovie. The iPad Pro with Apple Pencil looks easier to operate. Anywhere you recommend to go look as a total beginner? Most tutorials assume too much from the student!
Thanks
I have a playlist on my channel that has many different tutorials for lumafusion on an iPad. Anything on an iPad with Apple Pencil is my preferred editing method. It’s how I edit all my UA-cam videos
I would love a video on how to convert photos to make a time-lapse by using the gopro app
Thank u for the tutorial just curious what app u use for editing?
I am using go pro 9 and recorded my footage at 2,7k slo motion | 100fps | narrow however the quality sucks. It was a sunny day outside and I was filmik from little tripod. Not sure wny but there is lots of noise in this footage. Maybe you know why?
I just got a hero 9. I used the slow motion setting (1080 @240fps) and the video quality is not good. it looks fine on the tiny go pro screen, but after I saved all the files onto my hard drive and slowed them down in my editing software then saved a media file it is no where near HD video. do need to save them as a different file type or something?
thanks g
Luna Fusion works well with GoPro editing I must try thanks
Hi buddy when taking a single video on slow motion do you then need to take anouther video on your go pro if you want to take normal speed
Silly question …..
I’m new to GoPro - yes I know welcome to the party ….. finally !
I’ve been recording in 4K 30fps on my GoPro Hero 9. Am I limited to a specific frame rate on my GoPro to facilitate editing on Lumafusion ?
For example - is 4K 60 or 4K 120 viewable in the camera roll on my iPad Pro 2021 model , 12.9” 1TB
Great tutorial... Thank you. Which tablet are you editing on in this clip please.
This is the iPad Pro 2018
I just got a new go pro 10. I recorded a few Super slo-mo mode test videos at 4k/120/wide.
When I transferred them to the Quick app on my iPad, they looked super choppy with no smoothness. Looked awful.
Do I need to edit them in Quick to see the slow-motion effect? Very confused.
I was wondering why when I filmed the slow motion on my Gopro 9, it looked choppy to me. When I I film at anything below 240 FPS, and I slow it down to 0.2x, it just doesn't look smooth at all. The only issue is that I can only use 240 FPS at 1080p but I not at 2k or 4k. Bummer. Thanks for the video
thumbs Up!!!
Too gud
So all slow mo video have to be edited after the fact?
It's playing slow mo on my GoPro but not when I transfer it to my phone
Same here! Help lol
@@andrewquin5630 1:19 I think this is the answer.
So yes, you have to edit it after the fact unless you use software like iMovie where it plays back automatically in slow mo.
Hello! Thanks for a great video. Could you please explain why I don’t see any slow motion on GoPro 11 even though I use 240fps? On the computer is the same. Also what soft wear do you use to edit the footage?
Thank you 🙏🏻
Lumafusion
Thank you for this video! I just bought my first GP-10 a few days ago. However, I noticed you played back the slow-mo video on your Gopro which looked great. But after I recorded a few videos in the ultra slo-mo preset, I noticed all my videos were playing back in normal mode. Did I miss something? Or is it a must to use and editing software? Thanks again and subscribed🙂
I’m experiencing the same and can’t work it out either.
I can play in slow on go pro by selecting the speed button but when I export to phone it’s normal.
@@andrewquin5630 Got the same issue. Anyone solved it yet? 😅
My video was recorded on 4K 120FPS, when i take it to my phone it’s a slow motion video
Can i use it at normal speed
Please help 🙏🏼
What about slowing down a video not captured in slow motion? Say I shoot a video in 1080/120 and use IMovie to slow that down by 50%. Do I get a slow version at 60 frames? Thanks for the help, I’m trying to understand slow motion for RC videos.
Yes all you have to do is slow the footage down in your video editor. For example if you film at 4K 60 you can put it in your video editor timeline. You can slow it down by half if you’re going to be exporting the video at 30 frames per second without losing any quality or making it look study. And if you’re filming at 120 frames per second you can still slow it down by half and export at 60 frames per second and still get that half speed slow motion
@@AirPhotography Thanks!
if you record your voice at 60fps and edit on a 30fps time line will the voice sound normal? However, if you take the 60fps and edit it to 1/2 speed, then will any voice or audio will sound distorted or slowed down. I guess in this case you your delete the audio part of the clip that you use in 1/2 speed.... correct?
if you export your 60fps video converted to 30 fps the audio will be fine. But if you slow down your video 1/2 speed, that's half, then yes the audio will be slow down too!
How do you know what speed your editing at. You were editing at 30fps so you divided that into camera setting. I understand that, I just don’t know how to choose or set editing speed.
Hello Sir. my name is Miguel and I would like to know if you could make a tutorial of how to connect multiples GoPro ( 8,9) with one of the last two versions of remote controls,I have both remote controls but I could not find the way of how to do it,thanks and apologies for my English.Take care.
Yes that is a good idea
What name of your for editing app? Thnk you
dude I really need help also but for me it plays in normal speed on everything and yes i am using iphone. i trying in the gopro app on my phone and no. i try in my normal photos app and still no. the only way i can see the slow mode video is on the gopro. I use a gopro 10 and iphone 7. i have the 1 year subscription.
Is it possible to do stopmotions with the gopro?
Hey man whenever i am shooting slo mo it looks good on the camera but when i import it to my phone its not smooth and its in mp4..and i am feeling dumb here
when i upload my videos onto my laptop they don't stay as slo motion. Need help pls
What is this app you’re using to edit?
I film in ultra slo mo on go pro 10 but it plays in real time on the go pro...what am i missing ??? anyone ?
Same issue!! Annoying.
Can you tell us how to edit 8x slow motion in inshot by using iphone and without losing video quality
And one more thing can you tell us that we can edit 2k 240fps video in ishot ????
what if we do not have any apple product? we use huawei or PC.
Same issue, but with Android. I am not sure if the process remains the same. Let me know what I can do. Got hero 10
Great video, but is there any way to take 2x fast motion video and not only slow it down to original speed but preserve the original audio?
Well you could do that in editing, separate the audio track and then slow down the video. The only thing is however the audio won’t be long enough to go over the entire track
@@AirPhotography THANKS..... i appreciate the response, i will give that a shot, keep making your vids man, we all need a little tip now and then, thanks, pipefittermike
Do you have a beginners guide video on how to create a movie with the GoPro? I have the GPHero #8 if this helps. Had asked you before but didn’t get a reply.Thank you!
I have different user guides on editing but I don’t think I have a beginning to end. If you go to my channel and select the playlists. I have a playlist with all my editing videos in it. But that is a good suggestion perhaps I should make a beginning to end editing video
Yes, please. There are comments below requesting the same. Thank you!
Can I export the video from the gopro app in regular speed? and not slow motion?
Yes you can
@@AirPhotography Hi, I think I have a same problem here, I was filming videos in 4K and when I transfer them on my iphone they are all slow motion. I can not change the speed in any app because it’s showing the speed like normal but it’s actually playing in slow motion? Is there any solution for this problem? Thank you in advance.
How can i put my gopro 12 in slow motion please
Hi I enjoy your videos very helpful! I have a question! I film 5k on my gopro 9 and I am unable to view the footage on my Android phone I just hear the noise and also on my laptop have the same issue... What should I do? 5k is the reason I bought gopro
Have you tried opening it in an editor? Same on the iPhone you cannot transfer review the 5K footage as it’s not compatible. However if I transfer the raw file to my phone and open it in an editor such as lumafusion I can view and edit it just fine
@@AirPhotography thanks I appreciate it... I was thinking of getting a tablet any suggestions?
The whole idea is to save on processing power. Some videos get really heavy and changing frame rates is a resource hog. And I havent even mentioned the proprietary HEVC that wont even work on any computers or players I have.
Hi bro.... In Gopro 8 i have a problem in slowmotion its output comes in realtime speed.... what i suppose to do..... I do my vidoes in 240 frames per sec...... for slowmotion then why GO PRO gives slowmotion default option in GOPRO....... this output problem is happened for everyone..... or someone bro plzz explain me......
My slo motion played back in real time in the GoPro app ?? and also when I put it in LumaFusion and I filmed it in 2.7k 120f. ,,,what’s going on with it ?
In Luma fusion you must slow down the footage I explain how to do it in this video. Also in the GoPro app when you’re playing back your media there is a button that will turn on slow motion or turn it off. Make sure you have it turned on so it will play back in slow motion

How do you move a slow motion video to phone. It’s always in normal when I download and save. . iPhone 11.
Sir I have a gopro hero7 when I shoot in slow mo on camera it plays perfectly but on the go pro app it plays in real time why?
Basically you have to export it as a slow motion video. If you go through my channel I made a video all about that and how to export it depending on frame rate that you choose
@@AirPhotography thanks 😊
My issue is I film in slow motion 1080 240 fps but it plays back at normal speed...what did I miss? I have the hero 10.
What you need to do when editing is put it on the timeline and exported at 30 frames per second. That will slow it down by eight times.
My videos always export as a normal speed video
Hello friends, I hope someone can help. I filmed a whole video with slow motion activated in the go pro at 120 as an accident. Now I am playing the clips on the video editor and they play so bad and slow. In the go pro I can deactivate the slow motion of that clip and they play good but in the computer I can't make it happen...any help please??
Thank you so much in advance, It is a lot of work wasted if I can't fix it...
I just got my 10 and film in slo mo and it plays on gopro in real time. Why?
I don't have a computer. I just connect my GoPro to my TV with a cable. I was disappointed to find the slow motion video played back in real time. I guess there's no solution to that problem without a computer.
My time lapse on my gopro 7 silver is to fast ...and I'm using an app
Dji pocket 2 vs hero 9 plase
👍
Still doesn't explain why the hell it's faster on my phone I cab only see slowmo on my gopro on my phone it's fast
This is the same problem editing slow motion from iOS and Samsung phones.
Is speed ramping available in LumaFusion
Speed ramping is a feature that they do plan on adding hopefully in the very near future perhaps this year. But you can do it manually with some key frame editing which looks pretty decent. If you’re interested I can make a tutorial how to do speed ramping effects
What about Android?
Gopro catched videos how editing in mobile ?
Please inform
all of that is done with apple editing...this dummy didn't even bother to tell us what name of the software is let alone you have to learn it.
First of all there’s no need for name calling. And second of all did you even watch the video I clearly state the name of the software I am editing and on my iPad
