I was a green keeper at thorndon in the 90’s….. I really enjoyed watching the course I worked at for 5 years, I built the 4th and 12th tees by hand, built the waterfall at 15, and reshaped nearly every bunker. Did you play it again in the summer ?

Well done bobblehead, not a bad round at all! Could’ve been potentially par or under without a few missed short putts and the double. The manor house at the end is Thorndon Hall btw. Apartments etc

Looks as though you were playing off the midweek winter tees (yellow/blue) which are quite a long way forward - the course is set up longer on Thursdays and for the weekend. A real shame you didn't get to play the 9th off the top tee.
You definitely need to come back in the summer and play off the competition white tees (they aren't put out during the winter). Very different course.

Course looks amazing. Shame about your drive but you still did well to get a decent score. Unlucky with the chip on the 18th, definitely would have dropped if the pin wasn’t in.
