Looks like you are missing the clear plastic flap on the onboard dustbin? Mine has a flat and it looks to be made to flip open when emptying? It has 2 little notches on each side it fits into so I don't think it's just packaging material...
I bought this on Black Friday and set up yesterday - instructions were explicit - on hard surface only. Wi-fi cannot be 5G. So far, the only complaint i have is battery life.
So, I bought it as well....and thought overall it was really great. Had no issues with the WiFi and setup was super simple. It honestly cleans BETTER than my deebot t8+, especially for large debris like kibble on hardwood floors. I was stunned. However, I returned it because it has the same issue the Neabot has - it hugs so close to walls and corners that the side edge of the robot, behind the front bumper snags things when navigating around them. I had no issue with the self empty bin and the connectors, but I’m using hardwood flooring. I think that is a puzzling design flaw about the carpet and the charging station - however you could easily move it to a non carpeted area or put a small placemat under the self empty station. while it’s inconvenient, I don’t think that should be a dealbreaker for this robot - most of the Chinese made ones are moving to this dust bin so the issue is about to be more widespread. I had no issue with the bin emptying under normal household cleaning. It worked perfectly. I also have tried both the old and new version of the shark IQ and this is a hundred times better than that. I think you just have a bad unit in regards to the WiFi.
I see The Base is sitting on the tack strip where the rug is attached. You will need to place the base further away from the wall in order for it to drop down at vacuum hight or place A piece of Plexiglass under the base. have the peice of Plexiglass big enough to fit the vacuum & the base together. I wish they would have made the base have A foundation ramp so the vacuum would always meetup with it's charging contacts.
It's a little unfair to say that it has a major flaw when the first thing the instructions say to do is to place it on a flat, hard surface at least 2.5 inches away from the wall. There were also notes in the instructions regarding internet connection (make sure the WiFi network is not 5G as the app only supports 2.4G network) so that could possibly be the reason you had trouble connecting to your wifi? Sorry but if you don't follow the instructions, then it may be user error rather than a product flaw. The Nova is not perfect though, I've had some app issues. The app is slow to respond, the mapping isn't great, it keeps getting stuck on a tv tray holder (don't know why it doesn't just avoid it), it takes 3 runs to complete my entire house and sometimes it doesn't resume after charging. I've been using it about 3 weeks now. It's now showing offline and I can't figure out why which is why I came to youtube, so yes it does have some issues. My floors are pretty clean though lol, so I'm kinda loving it anyway.
Holy cow same exact sounds and voice prompts as the Proscenic M7 Pro. Roborock s7 available TODAY on Amazon! Early bird special for $599! If the iHome can’t dock on carpets, then you know the Viomi S9, Proscenic M8 Pro, and Lydsto R1 can’t either. They have similar docking stations, so those will have issues, too. The Proscenic m8 pro is the exact SAME as the iHome. Very curious about the Stress Test... will it fail? The bin is very small, and the Self-Emptying bin is not that good.
@@coltonsvacuumcollection on Walmart, the price is also $599, but it doesn’t mention the cost being $649. Usually, there would be a cross over the original price, but it doesn’t show a $649 with a strike through on Walmart, so basically, if I’m not mistaken, the original price for the s7 on Walmart is $599.
That was my bad...it got me frustrated so I forgot to show....did OK on carpet but left a pretty decent amount of rice on the hardwood...I will be doing more test with this.
@@AdamsReviews this robot is going to struggle with the Stress Test and I don’t even think you can do the Full Floor Plan test for this POS without WiFi and App Connectivity. C’mon iHome. You make good alarm clocks, why can’t you make good Robot Vacs?
I just got mine today and it connected really fast. Did you download the app and connect it through the app? I have mine on wood floor and it connects perfectly. Yes, I updated mine, so maybe that’s why. I ran it twice today in the afternoon and just now before bed. I am getting an error “radar is stuck”. I have to manually fix it. My son did step on it, so hopefully he didn’t break it.
Yes I downloaded the app. See if the radar dome still clicks when you press it..also you should try to put it on carpet and see if you have the same connection problem as me.
@@AdamsReviews I don’t have carpet, lol. The radar dome does click when I press it. I have to manually turn it...really weird. I am wondering if it is just mine or if you’ll have the same problem. If it persists I am probably going to return it. I haven’t tried the mop feature on it yet.
Can you please test the newest shark iq at sam’s club it is model ur1005ae/r105ae I have that one which I told about in a priemier and it is amazing and I have had it for 3 weeks and it has never ever given me an error EVER
Looks like a revised dust bin with larger contacts would solve the charging/emptying issue. Regarding the wifi, you may have a dud. Hopefully their customer service can help you out; would be interesting to hear the outcome of that.
when you click buy now on their website it directs you to Walmart AND the most dumbest setup that will completely stop you from using this, it uses PROPRIETARY BAGS!!!!!!!! so either use their bags or it wont work unless you find out how to by pass it and they don't have any and if you search bags for this nothing comes up from and the complaints you cant even get parts. or bags.wow so no support at all.definitely wouldn't get one.
that thing looks like a piece of crap. i still have the Bissell IconPet, and i have the spinwave. they don’t have self empty bins, but they are much better than that thing.

The first step for set up says do not place on carpet. I just set mine up this week. Has vacuumed everyday this week and has done great!

You know a robot’s bad when it reminds you of the Shark IQ.
The wifii needs to be on 2.5 . Won’t work on 5.0
I have both in router and had to select device to 2.5. It was a challenge, but got it .

Better picture with your new Sony camera! Interesting review-1st I’ve heard of iPhone NOVA. Hope you hit 10,000 subs soon.
It says don’t put it on carpet at all and I assume that’s why
Can you do a review of Ihome Nova vs. Arnagar S8 Pro??? About the same price, but like your opinion.

I had this robot for two weeks now. Easy Setup. Works flawless. My unit sit on carpeting also. Never had any issues. I would recommend this robot.

Is this another clone of the Prosenic M7 Pro?
This is a clone of The Proscenic M8 Pro. Same Voice Prompts as well.
Hey Adam when are you going to do the Stress Test?
I bet the iHome would do poorly that’s just my guess
I know you hate the Shark IQ, but this is exactly why it comes with the mat to go under it if you have a carpet. Maybe try something like that?
When iHome contacted me I told them exactly that...they need a mat to raise it up. Thanks

Yes on hard floor it is no problem....they are working on a plate that makes it work on carpet.
I think it's locked with IOS to set it up on wifi
