- Hope you enjoyed me flipping through my old collection of PS2 games!
Which games were your favorites on the system?
Some PS2 games I remember playing but probably got traded away: Dark Cloud, Dark Cloud 2, Final Fantasy X, Lego Indiana Jones, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, Fur Fighters, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and probably more I'm just not actively remembering right now 😅
P.S. I did see the recent collectors edition for Psychonauts 1 & 2 on the PS4... I'll likely be getting it 😂

The ps2 library is one of the strongest ever with so much quality games. Need for speed underground and extermination are games I still play to this day.
It was really a great era for quality games! And there are so many titles that I never knew about that I wish I played back then. But it's nice to see plenty of ports & remasters for a lot of the PS2 library on modern platforms nowadays.
Great video, I wish I still had some of my childhood games. Some of my favorites were both Battlefront games, Tekken 4, GTA trilogy, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger trilogy, Jak and Daxter the Precursor Legacy and Spider-Man 2. I didn’t own a PS2 during the sixth generation of consoles but my cousins did, that’s how I got to play most of these games. I’m glad I can play most of these on modern consoles.
I was really surprised that most of these PS2 games weren't liquidated or donated along with all my other childhood games at some point. But agreed it's great how so many of the PS2 titles are still available on the modern platforms today.
No idea why this came in my recommendations but I'm really glad I watched it. Brought back so many good memories of my childhood.
Thanks for coming by & reminiscing with me 😄
biggest regret of my early college years was trading in my gamecube and ps2 collection. I really want to replay Skies of Arcadia. I remember I ditched high-school when Kingdom hearts 2 cane out. great collection! I hope you expand it!
I've been considering picking up some of the games I missed out on! It's difficulty balancing collecting for so many systems but there are a few games I have my eyes on that I may try to get in the near future :)
As many kids in the 90's, I also got into the habit of keeping all of my ps1 and ps2 games in a CD case while throwing all of the original cases away....
Needless to say as a game collector I am now kicking myself!
I'm glad to see you were able to save at least some of these treasures.
Ugh yeah looking back using the CD cases was not the wisest move 😂 But I'm glad that most of my favorites still have their cases - I may need to track some down to rebuild the collection. One of these days 😅
I feel that :D ive thrown all my Ps2 Demo Magazines in the trash, if i could go back in Time i would have round house kicked some sense into my kid brain hahah
This brings back nostalgia to me as well. Arctic Thunder was one that I forgot about but we did have. Never played the Ratchet and Clank games but we did play Kingdom Hearts, Jak and Daxter, and Sly Cooper.
As a 25 year old, PS2 is really starting to hit a nostalgic sweet spot. I've been playing through Klona 2 and it's such a blast.
The PS2 was such a great era! I never played any of the Klona games but I've been eyeing the new Switch release, it looks like a lot of fun :)
DMC3 and Tekken 4 were top games for me, I have so many memories with those
DMC3 was great, but I thought Tekken 5 was way better than 4.
@@richardchaney7295 I played a lot of Tekken 5 when that one came out as well, it was definitely superior mechanically but I still love the vibe of Tekken 4
PS2 had so many great gems! Now that I've unearthed our fat PS2 I should really give that DMC3 game a go sometime.
PS2 is probably my most played system. I have 173 games for it! My favorites were survival/horror games like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Fatal Frame etc...! I have both the Fat & Slim versions & I still go back & play them often! U have a nice collection- hold on to them!!
Oh wow that's quite the collection!! I plan to keep these & may try to pick up some of the games that we missed back in the day. The PS2 had so many amazing titles :)
You have such a good PS2 collection! Nice variety of titles. I didn't play much PS2 only 4-5 times as a friend got it borrowed from his cousin. I played Naruto ultimate ninja 3 and crash Bandicoot bash (now that I looked into it, this game is actually a PS1, weird). Also never thought the cases would be this large, as i mostly play pirate PS1 games xD! I must admit the only times I've seen an original PS1/2 game have been on internet. It was not long ago when I found out that PS1 games had a sticker on the CD just like regular CD games I see nowadays, I had always thought they introduced it with the PS3🥺
Thanks! And haha back then I really had no clue about the PS1 games, or that the original PS2 was backwards compatible. So I had no idea about the sticker thing either 😂
@@orbalology was it a thing in the US? The PS1 piracy?
My uncle had a little business in their home. Like a console cyber. He got SNES, PS1, Dreamcast an N64. My consoles love probably comes from them, since he had a lot of PS1, that's why I liked it so much , even over the N64. Seems it was more expensive as pirate wasn't easy to find, he only bought 5 64 games. I still remember those 5 games: super Mario 64, donkey Kong 64, Mario kart 64, goldeye 007 and My fav there, pokemon stadium xD.
I think regarding Dreamcast, the games were probably pirates as well. Some Dreamcast games were amazing, later on I searched why Sega didn't keep making consoles, and I was surprised Dreamcast ended up being a sales failure,as its game had high quality
tbh I have no idea. I slept through the PS1 era and didn't have any friends at the time who owned one. But I want to say it was less common? But I could be wrong 😅
@@orbalology I see, it was not a relevant time for handhelds, your favorites!
Btw Good news , i finished Majora's mask! 😁
Ohh nice! That game is great :)
My brother and I received a PS2 as a Christmas gift in 2007 from our parents and we were shocked! Lots of screaming and tears of joy (on my part at least)! 😂 We loved all of the Lego games, especially Lego Indiana Jones. My childhood favorites were Need for Speed Carbon, Thrillville, SpongeBob: Lights Camera Pants!, and DDR Supernova 2. I still have my DDR pads, and play when I actually feel like being active lol
Aww so cute! My brother and I had a similar reaction when we received ours (I want to say Christmas 2002 maybe? The exact year is a bit fuzzy lol). And that's cool that you still use your DDR pads! That game can offer quite the workout :)
Shadow of the Colossus is probably my favorite PS2 game. Also loved ICO, Final Fantasy X, The Xenosaga Trilogy, Kingdom Hearts, most of the exclusives out of Japan. Didn't get into the PS2 platformers, but I've thought about picking up some of the remasters since I've heard a ton of great things about them.
Oh definitely try some of the remastered platformer games! I haven't tried many on modern consoles myself but I have heard that some still have that PS2 clunkiness when it comes to jumping/moving. But I'm sure you'll adjust to those controls just fine :)
Im 20 so the ps2 is but a Very faint memory for me but the only games that I remember playing that stuck with me to this day were The SOCOM series , True crime NY & LA , & Midnight Club 😭
Oh I'm glad you got to experience a little of the PS2 back then! It had such a rich & diverse library that made it easy to find something that could appeal to anyone :)
Great video lol I sold all my games after I beat them to purchase new ones so I have nothing left from the PS2 just fun memories 😅
It was so common back then! And what sadly happened to most of my early Nintendo games. I'm still really shocked that all these didn't get liquidated or donated at some point 😅
No idea why you popped up as a recommendation but that was a good fun video that brought back some memories. Looks like you're just starting out so I wish you all the best and keep the content going.
Thanks! Glad that you came by & reminisced along with me :)
I remember playing PS2 games on the emulator I have beaten like 200 games in my childhood this was the first time I've played is:
Black, Call of Duty, Jak and Daxter, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, WWE, and Spider-Man, Batman, and other stuff. But Ratchet and Clank 1-5 (were the hardest games of my life, like the Getaway and Grand Theft Auto games... they're hard.)
Psychonauts! Played and beat that game for the first time recently. Amazing game.
It's so good! I'm also happy that the sequel is finally getting a physical release soon too!
I still have all my games. Fighting, racing, shooters, etc.
The Star wars and Jak games were great. My top games were definitely the Need For Speeds, Soul Caliber 2 and James Bond 007 Nightfire.
Alot of good couch co-op back then.
Nice titles! And agreed, I really missed the focus on couch co-op back then. I remember playing the Lego games with my brother that way and a few of the shooter games like Battle Front & this random game called Fur Fighters 😂
I used to watch my dad play resident evil 4 when I was like 4 . Best memories ever
Oh wow! It's remarkable that you remember him playing that game at that age, I can't say much about what I remember at 4 😂 But it's always great to hear how other families bonded over games growing up! Some of my most cherished memories are of playing games with my dad & brother too :)
@@orbalology I think I was around that age anyway. I just remember hiding behind the bed while watching him play it lol .
The PS2 was my childhood console growing up. I can recall countless memories of playing the GTA and Dragon Ball Z Budokai games with my older brother and cousin. To this day I still revisit the PS2 as there’s so many hidden gems on the consoles, the library was so vast and to this day I’d say it’s the greatest console ever.
PS2 was truly a golden era! Glad to hear you carry a lot of memories with it as well 😄
I wish I still had my games from my childhood! I need to go out & just buy everything that I had again
Oof yeah I have the same regrets, especially with my early Nintendo games that cost an arm & a leg now 😂
We had a lot of the same games growing up. I still have a PS2 and am playing Ratchet and Clank games for the first time now as I missed out of them as a kid, got them when I was 19-20 when EB Games/Gamestop was fireselling PS2 games, but it's taken me until now to actually play them.
I loved the Prince of Persia trilogy, Jak and Daxter, Kingdom Hearts, Dark Cloud, King's Field and Sly Cooper games. Also FFX was the bomb.
Really awesome collection, with many classics there. PS2 was such a memorable console
Thanks! It's one of my most beloved systems, especially because of it's solid library of games :)
sly cooper was definitely a favourite of mine back then 👌
I should really give it another try, especially because I really love platformers from the PS2 era. I think back then I was a bit hesitant about the stealth elements so I never really gave it much of a chance 😅
@@orbalology i know what you mean lol. he is a thief after all 🤣 if you would like to give it another chance try the third sly cooper game
it is more flushed out in my opinion although i doubt it'll change your opinion 😅
Cool, I'll try to give the 3rd one a go one of these days, but you may be right 😅😂
Fun vid! Bet it was great going down memory lane for you. The PS2 is my fav console to both collect and play for. Currently playing GTA San Andreas during my off time since I never beat it when I was younger. Been collecting retro games for about 13 years now (recently scored a Panasonic 3DO for $25 at a swap meet here in SoCal). I wanna say I have about 90 games for the PS2. The library is so vast, I still come across games I never even heard of. My fav titles for the PS2 are Silent Hill (2 & 3), The Warriors, GTA (III, Vice City, SA), Obscure (got lucky and scored it for $4 on OfferUp-it's currently about a $200 game; so fun co-op! The sequel is fun too and more affordable), and Kingdom Hearts which I actually beat recently late last year. Looking forward to the second one, glad to know you enjoyed it more than the first now I really can't wait
What I love about the PS2 is no matter how many games I've played for the system (even up til now) there seems to be thousands more. I always find some hidden gems
But I don't think there is a game I played as much (aside from online multiplayer games) GTA: San Andreas. My little brother & I could sink entire days driving through that city. I know that city better than my own, lol
Another great video!
Agreed! The PS2 really had a treasure trove of titles across a bunch of different genres. I keep learning about new ones as well haha. And thanks! 😊
I always find it so crazy how different people's childhood game collections can be! Some real gems in there and some I'm not familiar with!
Thanks! And I agree, it's really interesting how gaming tastes can evolve over time while some things remain consistent :)
@@orbalology I think the crazy thing is seeing games you don't realise were on PS2(or other old consoles) for instance I had no idea FF12 was a PS2 game. I recently played the re-release on later consoles but had no idea it originally came out on the PS2. Although this could 100% just be like a generational/age thing 😂
Haha perhaps! I know there were a lot of games I never knew about back in the day because general gaming news was so sparse. Nowadays it's much more difficult to miss out on the major upcoming releases, other than ofc some of the lesser known titles from indie devs, etc.
I love battlefront 2, easily one of my favorite games. It might've actually been my first ever game, probably played it back in 2006 or so.
Unfortunately I don't own a copy of this game but I bought the first one yesterday for Xbox. Just gotta find the other one!
Oh nice! Hope you enjoy replaying the game on your xbox! It's always fun revisiting old favorites :)
Fantastic collection of PS2 games you have here. I forgot how beautiful the cover art was for the original Kingdom Hearts. Always had a soft spot for holographic cover arts. Looks like you and your brother grew up with some great titles for the PS2.
Thanks! It was interesting reflecting back on what we played as kids and how much variety we managed to fit in there. And agreed about the holographic art - it always adds that nice special touch :)
The early lego games are awesome! Also, Battlefront 2 is amazing and the story mode is a blast!
They're really great! 😄
God of war, onimusha, midnight club..so many good franchises took place on ps2..and of course GTA. My friend bought a ps2 and I was the friend saving up for a GameCube so when he got his ps2 the games he had were twisted metal and gta3 I believe. We stayed up all night playing those eating 3d Doritos and dunkaroos. Fun times
The PS2 bring back so many fond memories. It was really a great era for gaming :)
WOW this video brought back so many memory's of my childhood i especially remember playing ssX tricky i loved that game still do btw😊
So many awesome games in this video well done.
Other than that a great video keep it up👍
And greetings from the Netherlands🇳🇱
Aww yay another SSX Tricky fan! And thanks 😄
I'm going back and catching up on some of your older videos, and this is a great one! The PS2 is probably a top 3 system for me. It has such an extensive library of games with so many genres well represented. That's awesome that you still have so many of your original copies! Jak & Daxter and Kingdom Hearts are two of my favorites as well, but you also mentioned Indiana Jones. One of my favorite games I rented back in the day was Indiana Jones and The Emperor's Tomb (basically Uncharted before Uncharted existed!) 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Emily!
Given your (apparent) love for RPGs, I would recommend you search out some of the PS2’s best. Nothing at all against your Kingdom Hearts experience, but if you have an opportunity you should try the Xenosaga series, Shadow Hearts, Dark Cloud 1 & 2, Dragon Quest VIII (since re-released on the 3DS), Grandia II & III, Suikoden III through V, Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Symphonia. The PS2 was fantastic for RPGs!
The PS2 were full of really great JRPGs I had no idea about back then outside of the Square Enix titles (I think we may have owned or rented Dark Cloud 1/2 at some point too) 😂 I've been considering expanding the collection, it's just difficult figuring out how to balance collecting across multiple systems 😂 Thankfully I have DQ 8 & Tales of the Abyss on the 3DS but I really would love to pick up the Xenosaga games & others some day!
@@orbalology, you make some very good points. Honestly, I have no idea why the Xenosaga games haven’t been published in a collected edition yet. And many of these others should have been ported as well. I believe Dark Cloud 1 and 2 are available on the PS4/5 digitally.
Great collection, Emily! Being a teenager in the early 2000's the PS2 was my main console. I remember loving finding weird and niche games while browsing magazines and hearing about them on TV or from friends, and my most prized PS2 possession (at the time, anyway, sadly I have given it away with my old PS2 when I sold it) was Marc Ecko's Getting Up.
Being from Brazil and original games being extremely costly, the PS2 thrived here because it was extremely easy to pirate. 95% of all games I ever played on PS2 were pirated versions and if it wasn't for that I probably would not have fallen in love with games and franchises I love to this day (Yakuza, Ōkami, Onimusha, Destroy All Humans (like you), Shadow of Rome, Beyond Good and Evil and so many others).
Marc Ecko's was so niche, especially in Brazil, that I couldn't even find a pirated version at the usual places I'd buy pirated games. I would ask for a special request and I would, naturally, get turned down because at that point I should just download the ISO and burn it myself, lol.
Still, I did not give up. Family went on a vacation trip to the US, I scoured every single GameStop, EB Games and other places that sold video games I could find until I saw a copy of it. Lo and behold, I found a disc-only used copy at a random GameStop bargain bin for, like, 5 dollars. I went to the cashier immediately, but I figured since I was there I'd grab some more games, so I grabbed Bully (sadly it went to the dude who bought my PS2 along with Marc Ecko's), Urban Chaos, Def Jam NY and Destroy All Humans 1 and 2, and, except the ones I mentioned, own all of them to this day. They're my babies.
Now I hunt down physical copies of games that were special to me or are part of a franchise I love. I play games mostly on PC, either by emulation or digital re-releases, but I do like to own the physical copies for preservation and collecting purposes. Still got a long way to go.
Great video, very cozy! Binging your content rn
I'm so happy to see psyichonuats in your ps2 collection.
It's one of my favorites! I'm really excited that the physical for the sequel is coming out soon too 😄
I miss Onimusha 1 to 3... love those games
I unfortunately was a die hard Nintendo fan in my childhood and never had a PlayStation until the ps3
Kingdom hearts is my fav but it’s wild to see a lot of the games got the remastered or remade treatment
Yeah! The PS2 has a goldmine of games. It's great that they remastered/ported so many over the years so more people could have the opportunity to experience them :)
I'll play a remaster/re-release if it's put together well (and minor gripes aside, they usually are at least FINE), but I sought out a working backwards-compatible PS3 to be able to play the vast majority of the PS2 games I like that were definitely not popular enough to get remasters 😅
I also love to look back through all my games I had played while growing up, so much nostalgia. Thank you for all your videos! I recently stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago and have been going through all your videos. I know you've said in one of your first videos how you started this channel in order to improve your speaking skills and I've definitely noticed a big improvement. I appreciate your friendly personality and like how down to earth and real you present yourself while doing your reviews. I like to put your videos on while playing my 3ds or switch because you have a very calming and relaxing voice and I can tell how passionate you are about collecting. You've talked about your brother in videos before and it would be really cool to see you both in an video reminiscing about games you've played while growing up. The quality of your videos are great and I'm surprised you don't have more followers. Thanks again for what your doing and I look forward to seeing what you have to talk about next.
P.S. You have a lovely smile ☺
Thank you so much! I actually asked my brother a couple times if he would consider joining me in one of my videos but he seems camera shy. Maybe one of these days he'll agree to come on :)
I wanted to tell you this about a month ago 😂 but my phone broke lol. I love your channel!! I’m a huge Sony & Nintendo fan as well! I really enjoyed your Switch collection video that was really dope and inspired me to get into Jrpg games keep up the great work 😎
Oh thank you! I'm so glad to hear that you've been enjoying the content & are looking into more JRPGs :)
Oh man! Katamari Damacy was awesome but I’m with you, that timer was WAY stressful. Nice collection! Fun video. I liked seeing the front and rear covers. Nice touch 👍
Haha timed games never fail to stress me out 😂 And thank you!!
Dope video. I do still play on my PS2. On occasion cause I also have a GameCube, N64, Wii, and a Switch. SO yeah I play between these 5 systems. I just picked up Epic Mickey recently so ima playing my Wii a lot more. And im still trying to beat Final Fantasy X2 so thats gonna be getting my PS2 screen time.
I need to boot my fat PS2 up & replay some of these titles - especially the ones I never got to - sometime soon. It's also great to hear that you still play many of your older systems to this day :)
I totally agree with you on Katamari Damacy. I loved it, but it was so frustrating at times.
It really was, I may need to revisit it on the other consoles to see how it holds up with whatever changes they made.
My top 10 Favorite PS2 games:
- Ultimate Spider-man
- Midnight Club 3
- GTA San Andreas
- Midway Arcade Treasures 2
- Spider-man 2
- Tak 2 The staff of dreams
- Sonic Mega Collection Plus
- Jak X Racing
- Crash The wrath of cortex
- LEGO Indiana Jones
A nice variety of titles!
So glad ur vid popped up on my feed! My bf is a ps2 collector and he said your collection was super good!! im not as much of a fan of the ps2
Thanks!! Haha, I'll say my brother & I had great taste growing up :)
I feel like "trading in games" is a plague that has affected us ALL at some point. I'm so happy to see your childhood collection was spared to an extent! I grew up with the gamecube, so I actually have very little experience with this system. I almost deemed it "too edgy" as a kid 😂 As an RPG lover I suppose it's kinda nice to have a whole system's worth of unexperienced RPGs! Anyways, I love your content and you were an instant sub :)
Oh thank you!! I missed out on all of the Nintendo home consoles until the Switch. But the great thing about the PS2 is a lot of the classic RPGs are getting remakes or are currently accessible on the PS Network in some way. I'm hoping in the coming years they'll bring over more titles in some form (especially the more expensive ones 😂). There were so many RPGs I never got to experience back in the day but hope to some day!
Great video! You're getting a lot better at talking to the camera, I can tell!
Aw thanks! I've been noticing an improvement too :)
I love going back to my old games. I still have most of them, and whatever I got rid of I have been slowly re-buying over time. But I don’t really play on real hardware anymore. If it’s a PS1 or PS2 game, I am most likely playing it on an emulator. The games looks and run so much better (if you have the PC hardware to do it properly) and it’s like experiencing them for the first time again. I still enjoy collecting physical games if they are ones that I had as a kid though. It’s nice to have physical objects to touch and remember.
As a collector I really love collecting physical games too! But I can see how the emulation scene can provide an overall better experience on many of these older games. I should probably look more into that :)
@@orbalology Collecting is fun, engaging, and really connects you with the games you play. But recently I had a sort of crisis where I was going crazy collecting _everything_ during the pandemic and spent a lot of money. I decided to shed a lot of what I collected only to focus on specific things. Number one is to collect and get mint copies of every game I had as a kid, that was very important to me. Number two is to get a complete set of long box PS1 games, but that’s also proving to be expensive. Number three is a complete set of original label PS3 games (before they changed the box design in 2009), and lastly is to get every launch game for the PS1 through PS5. Having those physical is enough for me, as I have the space for curated collections, it’s cheaper overall, and I have less clutter. The emulators really help declutter my shelves and my brain, as I can have a huge digital library of games I otherwise wouldn’t be interested in keeping physically, and I can play them instantly. Emulation isn’t perfect, but it’s getting very close.
@@orbalology Emu can come in handy especially if you wanna replay/try out titles that had online play or some connectivity back in the day, I haven't got around to trying these yet, but I believe there a way to play Resident Evil Outbreak 1 and 2 coop on pcsx2(on the ps2 hardware you had to connect online for coop play), and on dolphin they added GC/GBA connectivity a few months back so if you ever wanted play Legend of Zelda Four Sword Adventures or Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles with friends it wouldn't be a bad option, or maybe you want to try out the tingle tuner feature in Zelda Wind Waker here your chance, other than that you might find servers for some titles that no longer available on regular hardware(unless you mod it), and let not forget the mod people come up with for fan favorite games
It's great to know your boundaries as a collector, & try to plan things out so to avoid going overboard (which I admit I do at times 😅). But agreed going digital or emulation can help fill in the gaps when trying to cut back on physical collecting.
Castlevania Curse of Darkness was really awesome. It was a hack n slash, but also had elements of Pokémon in it where you evolved fairies, goblins, etc that traveled with you.
We love katamari the sequel to katamari is a lot of fun, and never had a re release. I would strongly recommend picking that one up now while it’s still affordable.
A couple games I’ve always wanted to try are Shadow Hearts, and Odin Sphere.
There were a lot of interesting games on the PS2! I just wish it was easier to get ahold of a few of the more obscure titles these days 😅
Yeah, I fell into the trade in trap a few times for a few 360 games ended up not being not really worth it cost wise. I still have a few like Bully, and GTA, Kingdom Hearts 1: I'll probably never get the chance to beat, I may have to get the remastered version (I think?) from the Epic store to attempt it again.
The DDR pads might be something I go on a hunt for when I have my own house. I always wanted the pads at home so I could practice without people watching lol. There's was a DDR competition movie from Japan back then that got me extra into it.
I would say go for the remastered version of Kingdom Hearts 1 (& also 2) if you're up for it! I've heard these first couple games can be difficult to get into for newcomers but since you've had previous exposure they may be a fun nostalgia trip.
And yeah I remember how popular DDR was back in the day. Last time I was in Japan some of the arcades still had the machines up and there were some really talented people who must still play daily on them. It was really fun to watch!
@@orbalology 🤣 They were definitely hard that's why I didn't complete it. Back then Kingdom Hearts was like Dark Souls level of difficult for me.
I bet there's a small dive bar somewhere that keeps it going and its a local secret spot.
Oh if it was the difficulty level that stopped you back in the day then I definitely recommend giving them a go now :)
@@orbalology I really love a lot of the KH lore, so I definitely will. Would love to watch gameplay videos from you someday .
I got a lot of fighting games and some niche that I barely played on the PlayStation2. I honestly don't know if I will be keeping them for long as my game library is getting out of hand. Though I still recommend getting some RPGs like Tales of Legendia or Tales of the Abyss. The Drakengard series is still a must-have for those who are fans of Yoko Taro. If you can get those Shin Megami games or those Persona games, that would be a great games to have! And also don't forget to get Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria in preparation for the upcoming game Valkyrie Elysium.
Oh good recs! I may try to see if I can hunt down some of those older JRPGs somewhere. Our original PS2 machine still works but I think I may need to hunt down an extra controller or two. Our old ones have a bunch of dust build up that I'm not sure will be easy to clean 😅
Of the games you showed Sly Cooper was a lot a fun, I played it on PS3 in the Sly Cooper Collection. My favorite PS2 game is Rogue Galaxy by Level 5 hands down is a lot of fun. I don't have a huge PS2 collection but I really enjoyed Dark Cloud (2 games) Final Fantasy X, Beyond Good & Evil, Indigo Prophecy, Wild Arms 3&4, Dragon Quest VIII, Xenosaga 1-3, Dot Hack series & Drakengard 1&2
Dark Cloud was great! I think my brother must have traded in our copies sadly, but both of those games are classics. And you have a lot of solid JRPGs :)
@@orbalology Hey Emily! What game are you currently playing? I'm about 85% thru Magical Starsign. I'm really enjoying it. I bought my copy off of Ebay, the listing had good condition and the outside artwork had some water damage. I was going to return it and seller ended up refunding me and just let keep it.
I just finished up AI The Somnium Files and it was pretty amazing, probably one of the best VNs I've played so far. And glad to hear you're enjoying Magical Starsign! I'll need to get to that one and test it out soon :)
I grew up with the GameCube so I missed out on the incredible PS2 library and I've just recently started looking into and realizing how many great games (especially JRPGs) I missed out on. But even so I wouldn't trade my GameCube collection for anything.
The great thing about the PS2 library is that a lot of the titles are on the PSN store or remakes over the years. But yeah definitely hold onto that GameCube collection, those are heavily sought after I hear these days :)
@@orbalology That's true, I'll probably try ps plus premium eventually just to access that whole back catalogue.
The original God of war games are my favorites. Great series.
They're a lot of fun - I really need to revisit them at some point and play the sequels I never got to.
I used to have a ps2 and loved it. I missed 3 and 4, but I got a PS5 for myself for Christmas.
The PS2 was rad, probably my favourite system overall. I think I've bought more PS2 games in the last couple of years than any other console, I'd say The Switch is probably the only system that even comes close to having some of the best games I've ever played on it. Finished Onimusha 3/Dawn of Dreams and played a bunch of Shadow of Rome earlier this year, still want to get around to Killer 7. The little books you used to get in Capcom games show that they were at peak creativity during that generation.
My favourite PS2 games are Okami, We
The PS2 had an amazing library! I feel compelled to try to track down some of the older titles we must have traded in & games we never got to. I haven't looked too closely at the PS2 market but hopefully some will be easy-ish to find, though I'm sure some of more niche titles will be pricey 😅
@@orbalology Prices for PS2 games are all over the place here in the UK. I've found games that are going for high-ish prices can drop to almost nothing at times, but then shoot right back up again. The one series I always wanted to try out was Xenosaga after falling in love with Xenoblade Chronicles, but it turns out that only Part 2 was released in Europe. I'm undecided if I should even bother at this point. I did end up finding out about and playing Monolithsoft's bonkers action movie/disaster game Disaster: Day of Crisis on the Wii though.
A lot of the pricier things I've wanted like the Vanillaware games have gotten or are getting rereleases though. I should really get back to finishing Odin Sphere one day. A lot of the best games have gotten rereleases thankfully, and are often the best way to play those games, especially things like Okami or Resident Evil 4, and I'm sure the new upcoming release of Persona 4 will be the best way to play that etc.
I've been on the lookout for the Xenosaga games too after getting into Xenoblade! I would really love them to remaster or at least port all the early Xeno games in a nice package, but it may be a pipe dream 😅
I'm really happy to see most of the Vanillaware titles (& others) being remastered/ported over as well. Makes it much easier on us collectors 😂
Psychonauts 2 is getting a physical copy on September 27 for ps4 and Xbox series x
Yes! I ended up pre-ordering the iam8bit collector's edition that comes with both games. Super excited for that to release!
@@orbalology That's awesome
Wish you had the chance to play Silent Hill 2, Bloodrayne,The Suffering and some Legacy of Kain. Loved Shadow of the Colossus, Ico and Okami back then.
There were so many great games I missed on the system! And now they're getting pretty pricey 😅 I'm glad a lot of these have received remasters but I would love to see more be brought over to modern systems for better accessibility.
I went on a Huuuge Shopping spree a few years ago and spend almost all of my leftover Money every month for Ps2 Games.
Now i have around 600-700 Games.
I found so many cool ones, that i havent heard before bcz i was browsing Ebay constantly and asked people for recommendations in Livestreams, eventually i cooled off :D
I still play stuff like Warriors Orochi, Gran Turismo 4, Steambot Chronicles, Road Trip Adventure, Phantasy Star Universe, Mr. Moskeeto, Space Channel 5...
Right now im looling for Blood Will Tell, Poy Poy 2 and Samurai Western
Oh wow that's quite the collection, nice!
Nice games and nice video..my favorite resident evil code veronica..greetings from indonesia
Hello! And thank you 😄
Duuuude i never knew somebody with a ps2 psychonauts copy, awesome
I think my brother & I found out about Psychonauts after watching xplay on the G4 channel recommend it way back in the day and asked for it for Christmas or one of our birthdays.😂 I'm glad we did the game is awesome!
Still play some ps2, ff x - ff xii, been collecting a few games,, but recently im more into wii and ds
Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2 on both PS2 and PS4
I have a PS2 and some old games, but the DualShock controller stopped working. It contains a transparent sheet of plastic with black wires printed onto it. These wires faded away, and it stopped working. Has anyone else had this problem?
Cool video! 😁
Thanks! 😄
one of my favourite games was Ico. Sony broght it to ps3 i moved on to ps4/ps5 and unfortunately it never got another re-release. Shadow of the collosus did, but this wasnt my favourite game, Ico was the one for me. Really thought the art with the music and game design drove genuine emotion. I am going to have to emulate this when i get my steamdeck one day
Maybe Sony will bring it back again! I hear really good things about Ico though, may have to try it some day even if I have to resort to emulation means as well.
I got a PS2 a bit before the Switch came out to play Xenosaga and Final Fantasy and... I can't go back to those disc loading times after being spoiled by the Switch so I prefer the ports to Switch
Oof yeah I almost forgot about those long load times. The ports/remasters certainly have a leg up in that regard 😂
Ps2 collecting will never get old…. (Unless it’s completed of course )
Don't get back into Kingdom Hearts haha keep those nice cherished moments of them from when you were younger. Metal Gear Solid is a series worth checking out especially now when older and can enjoy them better.
lol my brother told me the same thing after he finished KH3 last year 😂 But I was thinking of trying out some of these PS2 games I never got to. Just need to figure out how to clean these neglected controllers that gathered too much dust over the years 😅
@@orbalology Isopropyl Alcohol and Q-tips. Can also take it apart and give it a nice bath lol
Ratchet and clank 🔥
Agreed 🔥
I wanted to ask can you do a square Enix collection vlog where you show all your square Enix games
Hmm, I don't think I have a ton of interesting square enix games in my collection but I can maybe put together a nice overview clip on social media or YT shorts :)
Good games !
Thanks! 😄
Can't stop staring at your eyes.
Hi :) Such a cute video. 😊
Simpsons hit and run was big one for me not sure anyone else really liked that game
I've heard great things about that Simpsons game actually! As being one of the better licensed games out there :)
I like to have the physical old games and hardware but if they are on a new console I am totally only playing them their because lets be fair old hardware and graphics are pretty bad. I love that the switch gets lots of retro games.
I'm glad the Switch has gotten a lot of ports as well! And even though the port quality varies most of the retro ones have been pretty good so far.
Ddrmaxx2 is the best ddr ever. Amazing song list
There were so many great songs I replayed all the time! I can't recall the names but if I ever hear the first 5 seconds of one of them I'll recognize it immediately 😂
given the timeline of PS2, I'd have to say console wise, it had the best quality to game ratio ever compared to any other console/era
There were really so many great games! I wish I was in a better position to take more advantage of what the system had to offer at the time!
Easily my favorite ps2 games were ultimate spiderman and battlefront 2
Ah nice! I've heard great things about that Spiderman game & the Battlefront games were a lot of fun :)
I think your channel is going to blow up. Just an actual genuine female gamer not looking to mine simp bucks or dress like a stripper on live stream.
This video is making me hurt that I had to sell so many gems of my ps2 collection 😔
That time when if you want a new console you need to sell the former one. I sold my PS2 with a copy of Devil May Cry, I'll love to have that game just for nostalgic purposes. Here in Mexico we did not get a good flow of original games so that generation was Pirate land through and though 🤐
Y por qué lo escribiste en inglés? O.o

Dragon quest 8 was great on ps2
I wish I knew about that game back then! I now have it on the 3DS & I'm looking forward to how it goes (sometime soon hopefully, I've heard nothing but great things!) 😊
@@orbalology it's the only game I have on 3ds!
Where are you from? I can’t place it.
I'm from California, USA.
I always loved racing games, shooter platformers and beaten ups. Never liked RPG and fighting games.
my fear on game disc is it can get damage or break
Yeah the DVD discs were really fragile back then!
Now I play wwe smack down vs raw 2011 on pcsx2 emulator, but I will be more happy if I played ps2 games on ps2 console in the old days of ps2 but the problem my parents didn't buy it for me and i envied everyone who owned it in the days of ps2 fighting games was exclusive for that console like virtua fighter tekken and dead or alive for pc there was the most silly fighting games like wwf raw that is garbage compared to smack down vs raw for ps2
:)
😄
You mean ratchet deadlocked is the 4th game in the series
There’s Danta you face demons boss fights
My favourite in the series on PS3 is better because you can do debug code get all weapons and gadgets
I still regret selling my Game Cube and GBA collection. However that Gamestop exchange moment made me realize I should keep my games ,and so I managed to keep my PS2 titles.
I took a pic of them a few years back:

Oh you have some gems there! The PS2 had such a rich & diverse game library, covering so many genres :)
@@orbalology Yup! And it had an insane amount of hidden gems. I was never bothered by being a gen behind everyone growing up. Because it gave me easy pickings on gems people were selling off for the new console releases. I used to just sit there by the shelve for maybe 15 minutes looking through loss stacks. They were quite cheap back then too. G4Tv was great at letting me know what I should look out for, and it was my main channel watching for a while before re-runs of Cops & Cheaters got featured more.
Picking up games while others are moving onto the newer systems is the sweet spot! Glad you were able to score so many. I remember watching G4 back in the day too, got a few recommendations from them like Psychonauts and Okami from what I recall.
@@orbalology I mainly picked up Okami because of their review, and I do remember them showcasing Psychonauts a fair amount. I also never knew Shinobi had a sequel named Nightshade till I saw them review it. Other than having limited priorities on new releases. I'm kinda surprised I never got Psychonauts or Odin Sphere for PS2. I did eventually get Strorybook edition. While still looking out for a clean Psychonauts copy.
Wish you luck in finding a nice copy for Psychonauts! I'm ridiculous and recently went for the new iam8bit collector's edition package that has both the 1st game & the sequel on the PS4. I hear the 1st game port isn't as good as the original, but the things we do for nostalgia 😅
There’s a remake for that game but I think it’s delayed
The 2005 resident evil 4 not good the remake of resident evil 4 is the best more better better graphics Ashley better In the remake
