Definitely the longest video and script I've ever created. I went over a lot so please let me know what you enjoy and didn't. I'd love some critiques on the video and script so comment what you'd like. I plan on the Cortext Strike's Back video in the future if there someone that enjoys this video PS. There’s a tier list at the end I’m making for Crash Games as we go through videos
I have memories of playing this with my dad as a kid, I forgot how difficult that boulder level was for 12 year old me! This retrospective was great, I never would've thought this was your first long form video.
I completely agree with your points about the progression. As a kid I remember being so excited to reach each level because it felt like a journey and I was exploring these cool islands. I totally relate to trying to piece to together the lore of these temples and abandoned structures lol. Also agree with Cortex's fight in 1 being peak. It felt so epic with the background and everthing.
This video made with heart Truly speaks volumes about how I and others feel about the this adventure and journey in crash 1 seeing the cortex castle from the first level and getting close more and more as you continue through levels, the change of environment as traversing from living jungle island with it Residents to abandoned lost cities where left you question what happened them to factories of machinery of robots and toxic waste and reaching the castle is really REALLY Unforgettable journey that set crash 1 for me apart from the sequels You really expressing the feeling of every crash 1 fans this retrospective is just amazing
Man this is actually my favorite game in the entire series for one reason: its environmental storytelling. What i really like about this game is its way it uses its levels to tell the story of Crash on his journey. Like he starts on the sandy beaches of N. Sanity Beach, then travels across the quiet jungles and rolling stones, to ending up in abandoned dungeons and temple ruins, to finally stepping foot in the industrialized third island where wildlife mightve been harmed and toxic waste pollutes the island of its clean air. The final boss fight is a truly great conclusion to the story as the castle and its industrial buildings are set on fire which really shows how much Crash really "crashed" his way to the top to save his girlfriend.
I couldn't agree more with the discussion about how people perceive Crash Bandicoot to be this hardcore plataformer when in reality it never was. Even tho i love Crash Bandicoot 4 i really wish it didn't go the frustratingly difficult route just because some youtubers and journalists created that perception. Good thing they didn't make a sequel to that turning crash into a souless pvp game that died in a couple months at least heh Great video mate 👍
First off really well done and well organized video 👏 Second based on your last statement towards CB 4 IAT I agree with what you said on Crash not being a hard platformer. What made him a success is the fun experience throughout every game. With the exception of CB 1 only being hard because it’s the first and every first game is like testing waters for what’s to come in a game. The sequel if that said game is where the developers usually fix the issues with the controls or other things people complain about. Which brings me to my third notion. I have a theory that CB 4 IAT was only hard because people would complain about the CB series being too hard but honestly with all respect it sounds like a skill issue. Then TFB took those “it’s too hard” reviews/statements from people into consideration thus making CB 4 IAT a really really really x’s 💯 a hard game!
I also agree on controller difficulty crash floating is the least frustrating but the others are really bad spin sliding and SPECIALLY the D pad (I know in ps1 there controller use analog but not the ps3) it is 3D platforming and dying to D pad jumping section is frustrating and unfair
crash bandicoot and rayman actually have some interesting similarities: 1. the first games in both series are extremely hard 2. the second and third games are liked better than the first 3. the second and third games are significantly easier than the first
Crash Bandicoot is cool an all but Mario stomps all over Crash Bandicoot, there is a reason why Mario has endured and Crash Bandicoot has stagnated but with that said, the original Crash Bandicoot is nostalgic and I own the N Sane trilogy on Switch.

Man what a goated game! You still the best crash player I’ve ever seen in my life 🐐💯🔥
Most underrated crash bandicoot review video out there! Earned a subscriber!! I’ve been playing crash bandicoot since I was 3 😂!
Yes!

Z axis. Y axis would be back and forward right?
Unpopular opinion-i never cared for the original Crash Bandicoot game on PlayStation
Crash Bandicoot is cool an all but Mario stomps all over Crash Bandicoot, there is a reason why Mario has endured and Crash Bandicoot has stagnated but with that said, the original Crash Bandicoot is nostalgic and I own the N Sane trilogy on Switch.
However, I might add that popularity doesn’t always indicate quality.
