Keith Whitley was ( and still is ) through the songs he left behind , one of the greatest singers of all time. His voice is so soulful, like he had "lived" the songs he sang. As for me, personally he was/is my favorite of all singers. What he could do with ballads always makes me want to cry & I do.
I agree Maryjoe. I love looking at videos of Keith Whitley. He had star written all over him and while he certainly was, his candle was blown out too soon. I can only imagine the career he could have had if he had lived longer. I remember seeing his Harley in the entry area of the Country Music Hall Of Fame the last time I visited it in Nashville. He was gifted.
Maryjoe Roark he is singing what he learned from the greats he studied his vocals are parts of Lefty Frizzell he also introduces his band members. That is an old old style that goes back years. Many don't do that now, but some do in 2022
