Game mode that is designed around snowballing. yet they build stacking items first instead flat pen items. supports not buying good support items like witchblade or shogun kusari. that is what u get when u lack 70% of actual competition and make SPL to NA Conquest UA-camrs exclusive. lack of international, console arena and EU players. SPL currently is just a way for smite UA-camrs to get that ad money because then people think they are the best. when in relaity they don't wanna have competition.which goes totally against what SMITE competitive spirit is supposed to be. fix UI, add ranked leaderboard for arena, bring back old fun gamemodes, make separate EU and NA turneys. and let 2 best teams play it out in Atlanta. so u get viewers and sponsors from NA and EU. remove gladiator shield. stop forcing players that wanna be ranked into Conquest. make seperate voice chat and voice commands sound parameters. important for content creators. allow memes on smite reddit etc etc
His 1 will make both duel and solo lane interesting if against another physical who will be forced to take some magic damage, which probably won't be too bad but it for sure will be bad in the early game
So the bonus magical damage caps out and doesn't scale but has a set amount? Was hoping it'd scale as well as have a flat amount to give some interesting choices in builds but it seems to exclusively benefit the tankier he is as you want to get as many of these off to gain it's value. Hopefully if they end up toning down his kit elsewhere they may consider giving it minor scaling like have it be 30 + 3 per stack with 30% physical to magical scaling. This would allow a full power Surtr to do an additional 120 magical damage or the equivalent of 40 stacks. This would by no means be game breaking and honestly depending on how strong he is at release might not even tip him over the balance point. If he has good base damage in his other abilities we may have a situation like mulan where you actually don't get too much more use out of building power other than slightly better kill potential. One things for sure though, that 1 is gonna slap hard if someone manages to fully stack it.

he fits the exceptions. Haste was removed from gods that were oppressive and had dominated metas. Chronos lost haste because he was going to break the game if they didn't. Erlang lost haste because not only did he not need it, but he had a dash, a root (PLUS A CRIPPLE ON RELEASE) a taunt, AND had a very long duration auto stim and bonus damage from his passive. There just wasn't a reason for a lot of the older gods to have haste. Cabrakan, Daji, and a few others kept it because even when they were strong, it wasn't because of haste.

Anyone else noticed that they seem to really want warriors to be doing a bunch of hybrid damage? So many of the new warrior items apply their passive damage as true or magical dmg
@@jodyboles8208 Because guardians are there to be purely tanky because their CC allows them to be effective without damage. Warriors can't take space if they're not able to threaten the backline with damage and balancing them around hybrid items, power and penetration has always lead to balance issues where warriors were either OP 1v5 machines or got hard countered by physical prots at a much lower threshold than hunters or assassins would be. Giving them hybrid damage and proc items that scale off of tanky stats lets them do their necessary amount of damage to be threatening as a tank without them just morphing into a second assassin that isn't punished by burst or CC. Plus pushing warriors towards this kinda mixed damage bruiser vibe is good imo bc it balances out the variety of the damage types a bit (3 physical and 2 magical on any given team that's playing the 'correct' classes for the role)

Surtur for whatever reason has next to no cc and only has his passive for any kind of sustain and extra protections.... 90% of his kit is just simply damage. I'm sick of that. Definitely less frequent but quality releases. Smite has so many gods already so we don’t need to spam out more. And any problematic releases will be an issue in the future (community complaint, balance, etc)

In Dota both old heroes and new heroes are rebalanced regularly, Old heroes are buffed to compete with new ones on a regular basis, new heroes are nerfed to be more in line with the old ones if necessary. SMITE can and should do the same, a game will never or rarely be perfectly balanced but they can try.
I am not satisfied with that auto attack chain at all. Aside from that he looks cool, just hope that auto attack chain can get a touch up. Looks awkward and carries minimal weight behind the strokes.
So far in testing, ive seen most success with a bit of a focus on his auto attacks. Death's Toll, Protection item, Frost Bound, protection item, lifesteal, protection item. With the most common items im getting is a Shogun's and Blood Forge
giving him magical damage as a warrior is going to be soooooooo FUCKING anoying to deal with in early game cus you aren't going to be building magical prot until ut 3rd/4th item. until the mid game his one will do the full magical damage which will make him super annoying to fight in lane early on. plus he has an imp which will chase you and potentially finish you off which he can yeat and a way to trap you with his 3. oh and an ult which is a free rotation to the midlane/free escape. nahh he is absolutely broken both in solo and in the jungle

considering it just says enemy, they'd get stacks off of teamfights too where there's a good chance someone dies while burning

Looks pretty solid. I kind of don't expect the Haste to stay. They've pretty much removed Haste from most base kits with a few exceptions.
