    I wish I knew these things before buying my Jeep Grand Cherokee. If you're in the market for a new or used Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2) I'm sure you're shopping around and doing your research on which model (SRT, Trackhawk, Limited, Altitude), which engine (3.6L v6, 5.7L Hemi v8, 392 SRT Engine, 700 HP Trackhawk engine) you want to go with. Hopefully I can point out a few differences I found when searching around for my Jeep which is featured in the POV Drive on this video. My Jeep is a 2018 Grand Cherokee Altitude package with the 3.6L v6 engine. One major thing to note when shopping for a Grand Cherokee is the differences between 2016-2017 models and the 2018+. If Apple Carplay & Android auto are important to you, you're going to want to go with the 2018+ with the upgrade 8.4 inch uConnect system. The uConnect system on the 2018 and up Jeep Grand Cherokee is much more responsive, has a higher resolution, and looks a lot more modern. You are able to switch upgrade the uConnect on a 2016 or 2017 model to the upgraded 8.4 inch later on, for a cost of between $500-1500.

    Funny story about the Paddle Shifters. My boy has the same 2017 Jeep Limited as me. He was high one night and was messing around with the Uconnect. He put it into manual mode without realizing it. Next day he was stuck in 1st gear. Drove his jeep 30 miles to the Dealer to have it looked at. They had it for 3 days and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't shift. He told me about it and i asked him if he put it into manual drive. Had no idea what i was talking about so i showed him. Anyway he called the Dealer and asked them to check. Sure enough i was right. The Dealer and my boy are both dummies...lol

    IF you're planning on a Jeep and live in the snow areas make sure
    you have the dealer swap the factory tires for real ICE and SNOW grade tires.
    They make a huge difference.

    • @CrazyAboutVinylRecords
      @CrazyAboutVinylRecords 2 роки тому +3

      Yep. Too many people think that 4WD/AWD means they can drive through a foot of snow on all season tires that are half shot. If you want to get around in the snow and ice you need proper winter snow tires -- even if you have 4WD/AWD.

    I had a limited with a 5.7 hemi an 18. Lots of power 390 lb off to work 360 horsepower. Downside horrible gas mileage and getting into the foot too much. Now I have a 20/20 limited x red velvet. It is the sport Hood. Panel shifters duels exhaust. Sport mode and command track two which is the dial with sand snow mud and Rock. I also have a panoramic roof. And all options except for the forward stopping. Got it for 43,000 out the door. And that includes the nicer rims and pirelli Verde tires. 🇺🇸🌞🤠

    I purchased my first Grand Cherokee Laredo in 2000. When I parked it for the final time it had 315,025 miles on her. She wouldn't stay cranked. I can be driving and would slowly loose power. I took it to the dealer and other mechanics. No one could pin point the problem. I still have her parked in my yard. We had many years and miles together. I cannot and will not get rid of her. I am hoping she can still be fixed. I purchased another Laredo. I kept him for a few years and traded him for a new Limited. I lost my Limited in a accident where she got totalled. Now I am driving 4x4 Summit. He is nice. The way he move and makes me feel safe is amazing. There is nothing no one can tell me about the Grand Cherokee line to make me turn against it. The entire Grand Cherokee family is straight up gorgeous. If things go the way that I hope, will be purchasing the Hellcat in a year or so. I am just crazy about Grand Cherokee...

    I bought a 17 Limited about a month ago. We had a 2007 Grand Cherokee Laredo for 11 years, so 10 model years of technology improvements takes some reading of the owner's manual. My wife thought the paddle shifters were radio volume . I went into the settings and disarmed them. We have never had a vehicle with paddle shifters, lol! Our 17 has the 8.4 u connect , but no navigation. I looked into adding it like the window sticker said, and it's $595 to add the navigation. I think I will get a Garmin and put it in the glove box in case we ever need navigation. We're also getting almost 22 mpg. I reset it when we bought it and I am happy with the mileage!

    I just bought another Jeep Grand Cherokee 2018 Limited and have been driving it for 3 weeks and I love it. It’s an upgrade from my JGC 2006 that I drove for 10 years and still have it. Never had any major issues just normal wear and tear and usual changes like oil, brakes, tires, and a radiator. Other than that it’s been a great vehicle and just reached the 200K mark in mileage. I just wanted to give myself something newer and its a big difference in the upgrades technology but I’m enjoying my new Jeep. I do have a question regarding the buttons right below the Front console… what’s the best option in using those three buttons. One is an “A” the other a Econ, and third a slippery sigh type button.. any recommendations on when to use those features.. thanks

    Gas v6 3.6 doesn't have good gas mileage at all , v8 will do about same mpg as that gutless v6 and v8 will be more fun to drive . If you after good fuel economy than you have to get a diesel version which will be much more fun than v6 gas and will give you from 22 to 30 mpg depending on traffic and way you drive , also diesel engine moves that car with out any effort, it is super quiet and 420 ft/lbs of torque makes this Jeep pretty quick and it goes uphill really easy. So if you don't want jeep which has nice MPG and reasonable acceleration you should go for eco diesel especially if you plan to use it for long distance trips. Full fuel tank which has 25 gallons capacity will provide you with over 700 miles of range. If you think that you will be ok with v6 gas ,you making a big mistake , gas v6 doesn't do it for this car it feels under powered but it only shows when you are going uphill and you are at 4000+ feet elevation, on the flat road and at the sea level it is ok but it will never be as good as diesel in power and fuel efficiency.even v8 is not as good as diesel. Yes v8 is faster but it doesn't feel like it does the job with out effort and it consumes gas in pretty large amounts especially on uphill climes and it looses power on high elevation unless it is super charged.
    I tested out 3 grand Cherokee jeeps with different engines which were v8 v6gas and Eco diesel and Eco diesel felt like a perfect one for this car especially on highway, car didn't feel like it weighs 6800 pounds and it is kinda hard to explain more precise what I meant by that . You should experience it yourself to understand better what I mean. But. There is only one drawback with diesel engine and it is a dpf with annoying regeneration cycle. Other than that it is a perfect combination.

    Best piece of advice I ever got about options when buying a car, even though it's basic common sense, was "if you don't need it, don't get it..it's just more sh*t that can break." I've never had a sunroof in a car I owned and was almost ready to pass on the Altitude because I couldn't find one that had it. Once I heard that little bit of good advice, I went ahead and bought one, without a sunroof. Never had one and realistically never needed one.
