Straight trash play by A.R. WNBA needs to have a rule about targeting the head of players. She wasn't even close and knew what she was doing.
She was not even going for the ball. She was going for her neck and head. She didn’t even care about the ball. She knew she was following her and that’s why she found her. She figured if I’m gonna fall or let me fall or hard she should be kicked out of the game and suspended for 10 to 15 games, because you know what if that was in the NBA that’s what would happen in the NBA players trying to take another players head off. one of the major problems with this WNBA not just on Clark but they’re too easy on them with penalties. That’s why they don’t care if they cause they know most likely it’s just gonna be a common foul.

Really? Angel Reese herself was assaulted by a flagrant-2 from Alyssa Thomas just a couple weeks back. The foul in this clip is a flagrant-1.
If you recall the history of the "flagrant" label, it goes back to 80's NBA where it became common to take down a player like this with a hard foul if it was clear they were going to get an easy dunk or layup. The point of the foul was to make the person shoot twice instead of collecting 2 points easily. And of course, the foul has to be hard enough to make sure they down get the and-1. This situation became so bad that they invented the "flagrant" category in 1990, to add further penalty for going at it too hard. So I don't know how you conclude "no other player is assaulted in this manner" when a specific rule was created because MANY other players get assaulted in precisely this manner.
If you want to get upset about Caitlyn getting hacked, you can find much better examples than this one. The Chennedy Carter foul, for example, is highly unusual. The foul in this clip is not super unusual. It's pretty much classic flagrant-1 on the way to the hoop.

I’ve played ball for decades, and I know there’s no way you’d swipe at a player from that angle and think you’d have a genuine shot at getting a piece of the ball…but it’s a great angle to swipe like you’re making a play at the ball, but you end up smashing the person in the head.

Watch the slow motion reply from behind again, and watch the position of Reese’s head. When she starts her swing it’s pointed at Clark’s head, that’s where she is looking, it’s not angled upwards at the ball which it would be if her attention was on the ball, it isn’t. It only when she follows through with her swing, does she tilt it up towards the ball, that is, to cover her intent.
