Carpenter of 40yrs, watched a few of your videos, quality of work and attention to detail is faultless, if I could give a bit of advice I would say for a top class tradesman like yourself I think you should be charging a bit more than you do, also I think at times you are stretching yourself a bit, only saying that as I see you have a young son and I speak from experience, just remember there is more to life than work and you are only as good as your last job. All the best pal.
Great business, not only did you give a good price you also gave the client good work.. definitely a repeat customer and good referral. You're a good businessman.. Well done 👏
Lovely to see someone take pride in their work. A genuine, conscientious and hard working trades person like this gets tonnes of repeat business and recommendations (as seem by offers in the comments ) (May I say, please do look after your back, not only can the pain be excruciating from pulling or tearing muscles etc for days and therefore lose you income, but it can result in long term damage. You have a whole career ahead of you so saying no to some work is sometimes the right decision. )
Nice job👍🏼Once the price is agreed, then as long as there's no hidden problems that couldn't be seen, everyone is happy. Respect to.trade's people with integrity.
I have a client who got quoted £8k for supply and fit of an oak banister and glass panels and 5 oak newel posts (rip out and install) I got her oak banister, glass panels and oak newel posts for little over £2k I charged £600 to rip out and install over 2 days Some of these companies and/or tradesmen are pure piss takers and chancers
Mate you’re obviously a highly skilled worker as others said definitely up the price you’ll be surprised people will pay good money for a good job as the saying goes don’t be a “busy fool” love the content keep it up🙌🏻
Fantastic job mate your charges are your charges it's what your happy to take for the job. You will have consistent work being reasonably priced and high quality work. This is how I roll. Many friends of mine earn more money on less jobs but are still skint Cos they don't work consistently always have jobs in hand waiting to be done . Much love new sub 😊
Ur works excellent mate. What I will say is son just try and keep your work area abit tidier it really will make a difference based on clients recommendations to ppl etc. but keep the videos up man there calls 👊
Nice work mate you probably could charge more like all the comments say but I'd be happy with that wage for the work you did on top of your normal week you've got another grand with floor as well doing it over evenings probably worked out better too considering sanding and painting newel posts. Keep doing wot your doing if your happy and you must be making customers happy it's all good. Oh and I felt your pain when you hit your hip I think those feel worse when creeping into small gaps
Nahhh 😮 did anybody else catch that @1:50? I know that huuurt 😢 I heard that, jheeeez. I even felt that lol be careful 😅 Brilliant job btw 👏🏽 I would of charged more just for that 😂
Great job! I know it was for a regular customer, but if you're too busy to fit it in during the day then i woukd up my price to make it worth your while in coming out in the evenings. For the quality of work you are doing, you are far too cheap. If you can up your prices and only get half the jobs you quote for, yet make the same amount of money then you woukd be a fool not to. Plus, youll get more free time at evenings and weekends for yourself and your son. Keep up the good work!!
That screw you rammed into...I felt that near my ear last month (Spax #8x2 1/2", T20). It hit my eye protection that wraps around my ear. Still hurt with the impact. That stairwell looks very nice and professionally done. Sometimes manufacturers give measurements of the "product dimensions" as it sits inside the shipping box/container instead of the actual measurement so the framing or such can be made during shipping. Customer service is no help sometimes as they just read off the item description too. So, now I wait until the item comes in for actual measurements.
good job but one thing i wouldnt of done is the screw on the mitre join on hand rail the mitre fix would of been fine and with such a small elbow that wont go anywhere
@@chaos248 the laminate floor was done after the banister , but in the hallway upstairs on the carpet i have after realised i really should have put more protection because it would have been a major problem for me if i spilt glue or anything on the carpet my mistake which i definitely will learn from in the future, thankyou for the kind words
@@ttdowgcarpentry2390 Ah ok no worries boss i didnt realise. Hi, so we completed on our house last month and doing refurb. Based in Bedfordshire. We want to replace the stairway banister as its old, made of pine and basically some of the spindle broke. My husband is looking around for someone to do it. I know you are based in Birmingham and probably too far, maybe 2 1/2 to 3 hours drive. Can I ask, how do you find people to fit stairways banister, is it something a carpenter can do? And what is the average price would you say to replace it. I need the same length as what you installed. Haven't decided on the design yet.
any decent carpenter can do it also pricing depends on the job ie: size of stairs glass or spindles using old newell post or new ones nowadays u can get if all pre made so chippy dont have to do any cuts
@@hewoguys2506 How do you normally go about finding carpenters, facebook. We are trying word of mouth, so far, no luck. Is there a website that we can post for a job, thanks
I’ve never seen you do a glass staircase before. I just wonder who you go to if a job comes up that you’re not quite sure of, or you’ve never done before? Do you still speak to the people you did your apprenticeship with or do you just take on jobs and figure them out when you get there? Thanks

Good decent honest contractor and a very good job. You will be never short of work brother. Thank you

May I offer you some advice Dave…
Pipe down.

Totally, his aura jumps through the screen. Decent bloke!
You’re great at your job, looks fantastic
That looks amazing. I got quoted £1700 for about half of what you did there. Oh, and it was up to me to dispose of the old materials too.

For the love of timber! Put your prices up. That is way too cheap.
Lovely job, though.

How much was materials for staircase
Amazing work !!! What area do your company work in? I live in the state of Virginia and I’m looking for a contractor to do renovation for my home.

Nice job though .
Great work. How can I contact you for some work I want doing in my house?
Great video !!! thanks
Wow ❤

Good looking work. Looks pretty strong, but I don’t think wood/pva glue will do much on painted wood.
was that 600 including all the glass and wood or was it it just for the labour?
Awesome price
Good man! The smaller extra jobs are great to make money for the bills, keeping the big job money for savings
I did mine myself think 🤔 parts was around £300 paint glass brackets

Mate great job you charged what your happy with come and do mine if you want Liverpool 😂

The real shock here is that someone actually wanted that in their house 😂
How much was the total cost, inc materials etc?
How do you measure and cut the glass to size ?
The glass is templates with thin mdf size and shape then given to glass suppliers who cut and polish the edges for smoothness 🤙
Great work 👌
Far too cheap bro 👊🏼 💙 I’m out Cambridgeshire way for context, that would of cost me around £600 just in that glass, love the content tho man
Stairs look sick! Plaster in LED looks sick, doors look sick.
House is class man.
£600 is welll cheap init? People charge £6000 for this stuff right?
Do you cover Chesterfield?
good job, Was the £600 for labour only or did that include the materials? Glass, banister etc.
labour only
Do you still use your Tuff Built bags???
