Thank you! Since I made the request I did some research and found these aerodynamic metal cones were to stop the antenna insulators freezing as they were placed directly in front of them according to the airflow. I don't know if this is correct. I will give your method a try with a sewing needle and an empty strawberry box tomorrow. Thanks for your contribution to improving the community's modelling skills.
