Im glad someone is smart enough to hire you to inspect, never trust a dealer even a brand new RV under warranty to give you any kind of real inspection...as a Jayco product, they are terrible look at the Entegra owners forums to see how bad they are with quality and service they look nice...but beauty is skin deep...
The quality is on par with most others, but I can attest to the horrible factory support when it comes to service. That 2/3 year warranty they boast about ain't worth a darn if they don't back it up. Most of the issues I've had with my Odyssey could have been avoided at the factory.
James, The roof AC’s are (1) 15Kbtu & (1) 11.5Kbtu each. If you turn on the microwave, the AC or AC’s will turn off to keep from overload and turn back on when power is available. They should really just put in a 50 amp system!
No. We looked at the 2024 Esteem 29v at La Mesa RV show over the weekend in Tucson and walked away. We loved the layout however, I was disappointed that it didn’t come with a on demand hot water heater plus the daylight shade. I did notice a lag screw coming up the floor where if not repaired would tear through the vinyl floor. Also, based on previous year model their full body paint chips due to the poor paint quality and not using a primer. The MSRP is $196k and dealer price $130k which they wouldn’t negotiate - we walked away. The only thing worth it was the Ford E450 v8 chassis. PS - I don’t think the kitchen counter is Corian at least the model we saw was the same as the bathroom.
If they have you inspecting these brand new motor homes it means that they trust you and your work they are privileged to have you my friend I enjoy your videos I saw someone claim that he was the only certified RV repair man in the states I know he isn't didn't do bad work either but there's you also love your work.
Nice review. I've had the Greyhawk version of this MH. One thing I would have liked to see you cover would have been the yellow carrying capacity sticker on the unit. I bet that unit was quite porky and allowed for very little in the way of stuff you could actually put in it. Lots of folks don't realize that people count against carrying capacity in a MH !
James, great video. With all the crappy units being sold new, I'm fairly certain guys like James will see more and more inspection work, and people are willing to pay extra, for piece of mind on a Motorhome that costs 200k to 1mill, compared to AZ Experts fee its peanuts for peace if mind.❤❤
Thanks James! New RVs aren't perfect RVs either. "Unlike Winnebago" was my favorite comment, a nice, subtle dig on their continued normalization of deviance. Looks like Entegra is doing the roofs right!
We had an Integra Odyssey, we liked it except entrance door would hit the awning arm when open. Was annoying as hell. Lol. Hope they were able to deaden the sound in the cab. Very noisy driving with motor right there. The layout was improved. Backsplash upgraded too. Better shower head for sure.
Great tour and inspection! I think I preferred the more simple switches and controls on our 2022 Esteem 29V! One tiny note, this unit is actually 32'6", which is confusing given the model number! 😂
Hi James. Can you please show and comment on plumbing and it’s tubing. It would be nice to see and hear your comments about the plumbing. I believe they are not doing the right way. It would be nice when you do inspection if you could explain the plumbing in the unit you’re inspecting. You’re very good at this. So it would be great information. Thank you James
Hi James, great review. The last slide out roof looks pretty bad to me but that may be the camera angle. 8:27 there is a big ripple in the roof of the slide out that will have problems with the wear as it passes in and out.
So who makes a good travel trailer now? (assuming anyone does...) I'm working on an old 2005 Holiday Rambler Savoy tt that looks like it was actually decent before someone let it leak for 18 years.
Thor bought Jayco which means also Jayco's subsidiary Entegra Coach. Thor's business model is to create a monopoly of shoddily made cheap RVs, leaving prospective buyers a choice to pay over a million dollars for a Foretravel, Liberty, Marathon or Newell luxury RV or a sub-$500K piece of trash that's been half-built using tissue paper and thumb tacks. I think that REV Group Inc ( Renegade RVs brand's parent) is Thor's next BFF unfortunately. The big four afore-mentioned luxury coach builders should form a group to buy Renegade from REV if they ever want to jettison Renegade from their portfolio.
@@TimothyMichaels Yeah, I saw one from Liz about a couple that bought a Tuscony that will never be adequately addressed by the dealer or Thor. There's another RV inspector's channel where they have exposed several Thor umbrella RV products (Jayco, Airstream, Keystone, Entegra ). Winnebago (not a Thor family company) and Winnebago's Grand Design fifth wheels are regularly putting out luxury models with defective brand new RVs where the PDI was obviously fraudulent like floor heating systems that trip breakers freshly purchased new etc.. I can see that Thor and Winnebago is driving the growth of UA-cam RV inspection channels with their sub-standard manufacturing and dealer mis- deeds.
Great review as always. When the camera goes off the edge of the roof it is a scare. Seems like a mistake to have copied the Winnebago delaminating roof design. Won't that one piece fiberglass with constant tension on it come loose from the roof just where the bend ends all the way up and down each side in five years? Always sad to see Black heat collecting loud Colman A/C's are still being used in new RVs. Black slide covers and awnings just absorb the whole spectrum of light, convert it to heat and radiate it into the coach. Just so dumb. Nice they went with a reflective white roof color. It would be interesting to know if this rides better than the F-53 chassis.
A 4 kWh gen and 2 AC units. Hmmm. Take that pretty girl up to 7,000’ elevation at June Lake and find out if that little genset will power even one AC. I’ll put down $20 saying it will not for one hour.
I’ll be up in the Sierras next spring, specifically Silver Lake where 5 Kw gensets notoriously fail to power AC. Even if that 4kw gen is fuel injected the air is still too thin and I’ll feel your money.
Wow, cheaping out with the 30 amp??? How do they run 2 AC’s on 30amp? Says 15k btu is standard but not sure what the 2nd unit is. For $130k seems odd to only have 30amp with the dual AC option. You said the dealer did their PDI yet you had to de-winterize the rig to do your inspection & wait 2 hours? In my opinion their liars, through & through. Wish the new owner luck!

I guess I'm spoiled watching Blue Ox team do inspections. Thanks for showing us this rg.

Thank you James for taking us along for this inspection and tour. Happy trails!

All RV plumbing will make most plumbers upset and there's really no good way of looking at it without tearing a unit apart.
Sewer vent right next to the roof vent. That should smell great
I can’t believe the prices of those Class B vans. Half the size and twice the money. 😂
Hi James, great review. The last slide out roof looks pretty bad to me but that may be the camera angle. 8:27 there is a big ripple in the roof of the slide out that will have problems with the wear as it passes in and out.
James, we'd hate to have you inspect our 2025 Thor Class A this June in Jacksonville 😇
I’m thinking of AC’s getting better with running watts if that what’s being used. 😊
I’ll be ordering a brand new 2024 Winnebago Spirit 31H from La Mesa, looking for an independent inspection when it arrives…….how can I contact you?
Is that a crack in the roof at the base of the ladder at 2:50?
Also, the last slide-out looked like it had a raised staple in the middle.
I wish you would have inspected my 5th wheel James. Would you recommend a soft-start for each of those A/Cs?
So who makes a good travel trailer now? (assuming anyone does...) I'm working on an old 2005 Holiday Rambler Savoy tt that looks like it was actually decent before someone let it leak for 18 years.
How much battery storage? 2x6 volt golf carts or? 30 amp is weak imo. Stock propane heater? Great inspection sir!
2 group 24
Squeegee the shower glass after each use and you never have to worry about cleaning it!
the panels overlap so squeegees can't get in there hence the unhappiness
Haven't been real inprestt with most of the 24's I'v looked at myself.

👍🙂
There's other class c that aren't owned by Thor.....ie coachmen, winnebago, forrest river to name a few. Their quality is not any better.
Which Motorhome manufacturers make the strongest roofs, I wonder.

These roof edges are screwed down, Winnebago's float
So on 30 amps you couldn’t run both acs and the microwave? Glad they hiring you James. Definitely don’t trust dealers
I thought you hated roof repair tape 😂
Have you ever done an inspection or review of a Regency RV? I guess they went broke and are out of business.

No
I see sloppy workmanship and obvious poor quality control so far.
Two A/C units for a 30 amp??? No way!
Nice review, I'd pass on this RV.
TPO roof will work well but it must be a 60ml not a 30ml like all the idiots use.
Ehhh
