This guy is unbelievable. I had the privilege of seeing him play here in the states from like 4 feet away. We were all blown away, still trying to figure out how he accentuates and jams that driving left hand. Awesome
Yo know, I've heard people state they didn't care for him because he's not as fast as some of the other Boogie players. I really like his style, just so cool!
Who cares about the speed? I see this mentality with those who rate guitar players. If they aren't going a thousand miles an hour, they are no good. Take an Albert King, Peter Green, Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard, Sue Foley, Nick Moss, et.al. and see how they can stretch a note or two out. Same for harmonica players who I have see many in the blues world like Sam Myers, Gary Primish, Mark Wenner, Paul DeLay, Billy Branch, Carrie Bell and others who can produce more sound with less notes than some maniac trying to eclipse the speed of sound. Axel is doing a great job.
@@widdyhabb Its all about the feeling. I have heard that comment straight from many black blues players in Chicago over the past 30 years. Even the white blues players I know say that the blacks convey the "feeling of the blues" they can't as they are "living the blues" every day of their lives.
Also, I just want to give a big Bravo to the drummer. His contribution to the groove and the build up of the whole song is humongous!
Right on brother! GREAT sound and back beat👍👍👍
Nothing short of absolutely fantastic! One of the best boogies I've ver heard going back to the 1950s.
Ditto!

People who think you're a better boogie pianist because you can play faster than others just don't know shit! Boogie isn't speed, it's feeling!
Fast is not always better I know i play, Im 73 my first lesson at the age of six this man has my vote.
Just the right beat for this song and many others, been playin an old Storey & Clarke Saloon piano, and this piece at this tempo sounds great!!!!

Why does the ONE person who dislikes this not put his reasons down ?
I figure the person is too stupid. Also confused of how they came to this video in the first place. The reasons for stupidity are many.
