@@marcthompson4875 absolutely. gotta say, first sniff was little bit disappointing, but let it settle a bit and the freshness in combo with all the woods in there hits u harder than anything. This smells georgeous and lasts longer than most freshies out there. For me it lasts til the other day on my skin, and on clothes like a week.
I’ve owned Ganymede & BI, I find Ganymede more interesting but BI is easier to wear. I’m a fairly casual person; my office vibe is very relaxed too, so I find for day to day use BI makes more sense. I prefer catching whiffs of BI throughout the day as well, sometimes living in a cloud of Ganymede for a whole day can get annoying. I don’t love either if I’m honest (I usually prefer soapy & amber fragrances) but these two fragrances are a nice change from my usual rotation. Edit: other people really like both from experience. That doesn’t really matter to me, but thought I’d mention that in case it matters for you. Performance is borderline annoying for me sometimes (all day). Go easy on the sprays if you are staying indoors.
@@marcthompson4875 it’s really everything I’ve wanted in a fragrance. Likability, nobody dislikes it. Good performance and projection. And 10/10 versatility. And I’d say it’s under the radar which tops off its “unicorn factor”. A truly perfect fragrance for what I want.
Bois Imperial and Nishane Hacivat remain my unicorns living in Dubai with 40 to 45℃ heat, they just shine in this heat and humidity and remain my biggest complement getters of all the ones i have. Great video Justin, thanks.
Ormonde man is like more sophisticated Dior Homme 2020 for me. Got the 8ml travel spray as a gift and will definitely buy a full bottle whrn I ran out of it.
Yeah, ok. I got a decant, I loved it, I bought the bottle and, coincidentally I'm wearing it today. Oud Blue Intense is wonderfull. A 10, I agree. Thanks for the video. 🙂
Platinum egoiste has got to be my favorite perfume from the house that isn’t part of the les exclusif line. I understood the hype for BDC but when I tried the other fragrances at the boutique, this stood out the most. It’s definitely a safe buy but it’s cleanliness is what keeps me loving this. Very classy scent

Among all the fragrances I've chosen wisely ... Paco Rabbane 1 Milion PRIVE has a special place in my heart. Yes, it's a designer but the scent is just intoxicating, never get bored of it. As soon as I fell in love with it they discontinued Prive. Yup, tough love.
Hey Justin, I’ve worn CIPRESSO DI TOSCANA and Wulong Cha X , Gentle Fluidity Silver to work and all 3 are really nice. A few compliments. Thank you for the recommendations!!
I agree with Justin on Bois Imperial an Incredible fragrance. Simple but sophisticated at the same time. Initially bought a 10ml for 20€ and 3 weeks later i bought the 100 ml (78€) It is really unique , very bright and woody at the same time if you comparing it to Kenzo EDP. The note of basil mixed with the Akigalawood & the vetiver make this fragrance very unique. Bois Imperial is like a mix of the woodyness of the Kenzo with a type of freshness close to Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP It became a signature scent for me and i didn't expected it be a crowd pleaser but it is. I cannot count how many times people asked me "what is the name of your fragrance?" when i wear this one. Great scent , long lasting (without being cloying) , versatile and very affordable.
I only have 3 out of over 200 that I would say are true unicorns and fit all your musts. 1. Blue sapphire supercharged 2. Amber aoud prexcouis (discontinued, please wow if you have it). And roi sans equipage
@@marcthompson4875on one to 10 interesting 😅 it’s kind of unique the dry down is a 7-8 opening hour is decent but it’s something you really need to try. It’s also very molecular. I’d say it’s worth buying and trying a 10ml tester that’s what I did and aah I’m probably going to have to get a bottle of it and a bottle of patchouli mania 😅😅
@@marcthompson4875If i were to score it, its 9-9.5 out of 10. The quality and smell are great; its uncommon unlike mainstream blues and typical freshies but i wouldnt say a masterpiece. Combined with price and performance, its really worth trying and maybe even blind buying like i did :)
Another vote for Bois Imperial - such a unique and uncommon scent! Smells much more expensive than it actually is. Also extremely long lasting but not overpowering. I love wearing it at work and getting compliments from colleagues that aren't even into colognes. Bottom line: You just can't go wrong with Bois Imperial!
Sniffing Bois Imperiale from the paper, I thought it's straight forward masculine. However on skin it turned sweet, subtle, floral and believe it or not it reminded me Valaya and Delina by PDM
They aren’t very popular at all, but I agree that Continuum and Atlas are very nice, masculine fragrances. 19 Degrees was a let down for me, though. It does have a distinct character so I can see why it can appeal to some people, however I don’t get Aventus vibes from it. Tumi’s newest release, Dusk, is another nice one.
I'm glad you're ok with the Grief Givers. I would've said to ignore them. They're rampant & useless. Those of us who matter, know exactly what you mean & appreciate the unicorns of the universe. Smell yummy & carry on! 🦄
When I saw the title I thought about Wulong Cha X, funny to see it there. For the rest, didn't know people could find Kenzo EDP, Bois Imperial and Ganymede redundant. They feel and smell very different to me. It's probably because I get something rather sweet from Kenzo EDP (smells like cola), and to some extent to Ganymede, not for Bois Imperial tho. As far my unicorn fragrance? I sampled Dandy or Not G.A. from D'orsay lately and I love it. It's easy to wear, elegant, uncommon, and could simply fit any situation. Performance is alright for me too (definitely not a beast mode fragrance or anything close to that tho).
I wasn’t impressed by Ormonde Man and haven’t tested quite a few unicorns you mentioned: the Giardini di Toscane, Ani X, Anima Liberia, Ovation and Salt & Pepper. All others were solid picks. Interesting format and thanks!
I always thought a unicorn was a perfume that had been discontinued and was difficult to find, although that just might be my interpretation of how people used the term.
Hi Justin, another great review. I am getting Bois Imperial decant next week, exited to experience it. I had a question though, I am puzzled between 3 creeds - Bois Du Portugal, Viking and Original Vetiver, have tried Bois Du Portugal and Viking Cologne decants and both don’t last long on my skin. Could you kindly suggest how Viking and Original Vetiver are in performance?
Unfortunately Creed is not known for their performance, so I wouldn’t buy them for that. I would buy them only their scents smells absolutely amazing to you. But ultimately, I cannot tell you have a fragrance will perform on your skin! 👌🏾
I used to have bois imperial and it was really nice. But I have a question to all of you guys and to you Justin. Do you pick up on any similarities between bois imperial and the new le beau paradise garden? To me it smells like it has some of the same green woody facets and saltiness that I get from bois imperial.
Hey justin, random question :) hope it's alright! I've sampled ganymede a bunch of time (ordered samples 6-7 times because I've enjoyed it so much) and finally bought a bottle a year ago. Recently I've got the impression that the Parfum smells different to me. Not explicitly "bad" or worse, but the parfum smells kind of .. "sour"? Maybe even kind of sweaty, not really (I've never had that issue with cumin for example which some people experience). I assume its the "curry"ish note you mentioned a few times, caused by one of the flowers if I remember correctly. Was it osmanthus or immortelle? It definitely smells much darker as well. All the samples I've tried never had that on my skin. Does it vary depending on badge (though I've never cared about that) or maybe the full bottle is just concentrated more and also sprays more than a sample? Maybe my skin chemistry kind of changed because it smells way different on my gf so that might be a reason. I just kind of miss the fresh, airy, fruity, "magical" feel that I experienced when using all the samples! Not that Ganymede smells much worse now and I still enjoy it, but I kind of feel like I've lost a bit of its spark :)
I’ve definitely experienced this before with different fragrances. It’s hard to say why it happens. Batch could be a variable, how it was decanted, how the bottle from such the decant cans was stored, etc. Maybe give it some time.
Now I remember why Bois Imperial smells familiar, it smells like Clorox wipes! Feel clean and sophisticated on the cheap, wipe yourself with Clorox wipes.😅
