    Just a quick reminder folks, the FTC is now looking into the Kroger Albertsons merger because they’re saying it will hurt customers. We have seen this over the years especially at Kroger‘s raising their prices. Why are they raising their prices over raising their prices because they have spent over $800 million to buy Albertsons out into clothes stores as soon as they merge together because why do you need the same grocery store in two different places if you have a Fred Meyer‘s across from an Albertsons you’re gonna shut down the Albertsons and keep the Fred Meyer‘s or vice a versa. This is why we should crack down on monopoly laws on top of anti-gouging laws.

    • @nietzscheankant6984
      @nietzscheankant6984 14 днів тому

      Yeah, because the economy had a lot of problems, including a manufacturing depression. Then he made the inflation rate shoot up by his utter mismanagement of Covid AND the economy (eg. Trump ran ridiculous deficits while funneling money to the already wealthy), which Biden has now brought DOWN faster than anywhere else in the developed world, while also getting people back to work (Trump left office with FEWER people working than he had at the start, with Biden it's been a complete reversal of that) and getting the economy back onto a strong growth track (again, better than iirc anywhere else in the developed world).
      Then you look at what both are promising, and the choice is clear: only Harris has sensible policies that would grow the economy, help the middle and working classes, invest in new and emerging industries, all while being fiscally responsible.
      Trump would instead enrich the already wealthy, impose taxes that would hit middle and working classes especially hard, waste money on sunset industries, while runing HUGE deficits (AGAIN).

    Your mistake is thinking Trump is actually conservative in any way. He's not.
    For most of his life, he was a Democratic party voter and donor. When he first ran: he know his authoritarian leaning leadership style (if it can be called that loosely), brash word choice, and distaste for progressive's focus on gender and race would all lead to his failure as a candidate. So, he instead went with the party enchanted by his business persona (again, if you can loosely call it that).
    Trump's not a conservative. He's not really even a Republican. It's why so many long-time conservative Republican's feel so out of place in the party he created.
    He's not ideologically centered. He doesn't care about fiscal policy. He doesn't care about religion. He doesn't care about foreign policy or national security.
    He cares about his personal ego. His projection of perceived wealth and power. And about getting votes to return to office. Because he cannot emotionally accept a defeat. So he will say whatever the heck Republican voters want him to say. But, he doesn't actually share those values or ideas. It's why so many bonkers things come out of his mouth.

    Raising the corporate rate to 28% from 21% (33% increase) will cause prices to go up and workers will get smaller raises due to the cost of doing business. It's always passed on to the consumer. Companies are not going to let that affect their bottom line (profits).

      It was at 35% for years. Corporate taxes get written off most of the time anyway. It just helps fund the budget in times of need dummy. Republicans never stop whining about stuff every day. I pay taxes on my business and I don't whine every single day about how high they sre

    How do people think the guy who wasted God-only-knows how many tax dollars on his own golf games, tax breaks for the rich and corporate stock buy backs is better with the economy than a candidate who came up as working class? People need to really understand what tariffs are.

      Ngl, this was the most well communicated and detailed account of trump's policy ideas that I've ever heard in a while. I'm more centre left than most and I think there's a lot of promise that you can take from either side but I don't think the guy on the right did a good job in this interview solidifying the points from the harris campaign. He was exposed on his misinformed take on the trump tariffs though the guy on the left not much to question after delivering his remarks. Can't say the same about guy on the right
