  • More recent in depth video here: • Injection Molding - Ho...
    I got a injection molding machine! It has a pretty small shot size so I will mostly just be using it for transmission related parts like gears and pulleys. In this vid I try out my first mold for a snow blower gear part. Seems to work very well! Lots of small things to tweak though. Please let me know if you have any ideas of what else I can cast with this machine for the RC hobby!
    This is where I bought the machine: www.robotdigg....
    Exceptionally high quality machine, very impressed with every aspect of it. The wiring inside the machine is top notch. Let me know if you want to see more videos on this machine!

    Never, never, never reach up the parts chute to free a shot from the mold. This is why there is a safety door. You had to open it anyway. It should have three interlocks to keep the mold from closing when the door is open. It will also allow you to keep your hand attached to your wrist.

    I would be very interested in knowing the parameters of your molding. The injection pressure, after pressure, RPM, temperature and such.
    I, myself, work with injection molding and I find it awesome that you've your very own machine =)

    Amazing! I tumbled over your snow blower maybe 2 years ago. And what started as an experiment grew to a business with lots of parallel printers, and now you even scale up to an injection moulding machine! Congratulations. Makes me happy that a good product and good technical ideas can make it economically.
    One question: What about the moulds? Can you spend some little words or even a new video on how you made them / got them made? Are they aluminium or steel? Is machining in your own workshop precise and stable enough?

    Warning .. do not insert your hand from the bottom.. that can cost you your hand... open safety gate if you need to remove molded part.!

    Those look so much nicer than the ones I printed for my Spyker Cat, I will probably buy some from you when you start selling them in your store. I'm assuming eventually you will be molding all of the gears? I need to get motivated and print out the last of the parts and get some hardware to put it all together. Printing out the parts for 2 Cats from a Prussa type printer and a small CR-7 turned out to be a bigger project than I had anticipated (especially with my buddy also trying to print hull sections for a huge RC Tanker ship and having to go back and forth between projects with the Prussa) but it will be worth it in the end. I love what you have designed here and hope you keep designing things and become a major name in RC.

    Pretty cool. Need to get it to run in auto so you work on other stuff while it's running. I understand it's for checking the die but if it's only you running it. That's kinda time consuming. But still way faster than printing.

    I'm building my own injection mold machine, vary simple version, but I am a machinist. If I can work out how to make molds and then make $$ I would buy a machine like this if it could do nylon 66 or PA6 plastics. vary nice and a great price for such a machine. Maker should have more info on their website and make controller more adaptable to ad features if needed later as was shown in spyker's other video on this machine. Looks like this machine is all air powered?, mine will be hydraulic powered with subsystems possibly using air.

    I would be interested to know more about this machine. I'm trying to make a similar machine for my own use, if you can share more specs it would be great (dimensions, how big are the pneumatic cylinders, what is the biggest shot and maximum mold, etc). Thank you

    • @thegreatestmoo
      @thegreatestmoo  5 років тому +1

      Absolutely worth the price, for me in the US, shipping cost an additional $3k via Fedex to my door. Machine weighs around 930lbs so its a beast. I have a newer vid on my channel also.

    Does it cost more than a Projet MJP 2500 plus(approx 50,000US$)?

    • @thegreatestmoo
      @thegreatestmoo  6 років тому

      Anil Kumar total cost shipped to US cost me just over 10K

    • @alfredanil
      @alfredanil 6 років тому

      add 10K more for life cycle cost and you probably could have got a better deal for a second hand multi jet printer.

    • @TheJttv
      @TheJttv 6 років тому +5

      Anil Kumar your ignorance is leaking out your ears. He did not want a another 3d printer he wanted a injection molder. No 3d printed part will ever match the strength and durability of a injection molded part. injection molding forms one solid contiguous body. 3d printing does not and leaves all sorts of stress planes, and failure modes.
