I've been introduced to the GTA series with the first original game. I was 8 and I fell in love with it. Then bought GTA2, 3, VC, SA (bought it twice), IV and 5 (bought it twice again xbox and pc). Cannot wait for the next one :)

This was the first GTA game I played and was instantly hooked. Fast forward 14 years and I'm still playing it. I've beaten it at least 8 times now lol

well, LCS was something like DLC for GTA3 that not too many even know about since it was not available for playing on PC.
Its a pretty good game (for me as it was my first ps2 game let alone GTA game) It's a shame that they aren't more recognized. Sure they aren't Vice City quality but good fun can be had on it. (Same can be said for Vice City Stories imo)
Imawesome Slow down on this one. VCS was miles better than LCS. Not just a "dlc". Tons of features and great graphics.
Liberty city stories was awesome. I still tell people all the GTA V "updates" where already in Vice City stories aswell as a similar melee fight style to bully. Buying investment propertys, buying cars there is so much they used in the next game like 5 years later

GTA III is definitely a priceless gem when it comes to open world drive around games.
But Kenji's voice actor... yeeesh.
I was bullied when i was younger, this game helped me learn to stick up for myself. I never became violent nor did i have a craving to shoot anyone up, I just became.... tough? I dunno, I learned from some of the characters in this game that once you take shit from anyone, no matter what it is, they see you as a bitch. So to everyone, stick up for yourselves! The best way to play gta 3 on modern systems is the ps2 version which is availbale on ps4 market and turn the brightness to about 35 percent. Nostalgia orgasm

She also got him on bad terms with every gang in liberty city, didn't give him any interaction unless it was in front of other powerful players of liberty city, and reminded him of Catalina, but worse as she was dumber then her.
Claude went from San Andreas to liberty city just to get betrayed and meet the two worst female characters in the series just to end up back in the same place he was before meeting Catalina.

Salvatore Leone looks like he aged 20 years from 1992 when San Andreas takes place even though this game is based in 2001.

@Brutus Tan It has been established by the creators that this takes place last in the 3D universe timeline. Vice City takes place in the summer of 1986, San Andreas takes place in the winter of 1992, and GTA 3 takes place in 2001. This is a timeline created by Rockstar that aligns with the games characters, as Ken Rosenburg becomes the jittery mess that he is during Vice City and is still like that in San Andreas, where as Catalina is originally with CJ but leaves him for Claude (the main character of GTA 3) in San Andreas. Catalina goes on to be the primary antagonist in GTA 3. The stories line up well. GTA Vice City and San Andreas are technically both prequels.

Also, the LS riots are supposed to be a stand-in for the real-life LA riots, which took place in late April - early May of 1992.

Man the memories. Jus sittin back with friends on a Friday night after school eatin delivery from Pizza Hut, drinking a crap ton of Pepsi and Mt. Dew, and playin the fuck outta some GTA 3. We'd stay up all weekend playing this. This era of gaming is literally the most influential era in gaming history. The things they were accomplishing at such a rapid rate was so breathtaking to witness. If it wasn't for the early millennium gamer we wouldn't have these works of art.

Somehow after all these years these games are starting to feel more realistic than GTA V nowadays - I'm talking about story, atmosphere etc.

This came out around the same time the Sopranos was at it's peak, quite a time to be alive.
This game was forbidden fruit for me but I still loved it. I would play it at my friend's house sometimes and sneak playing it on my brothers PlayStation super early in the morning when everyone was still asleep. I couldn't do missions though otherwise my brother would know I played it and tattle on me.

Thanks..that brought back some great memories. GTA 3 was the second GTA game I played. Didn't care much for the first one I played, you know the one that took place in London. As far as 3 is concerned, it took me off and on, about a month to finish it. I have GTA 5 right now. I must say, it's really hard to make money with that one. There was a lot t more making money missions in the previous GTA games especially GTA 3. Again, thanks for the video.

I had a good friend that introduced me to GTA 1 & 2 at his place, but GTA III was the first one that I actually bought and played all the way through. Since then, I can't miss out on any GTA game.
The intro song and style during the intro, with those panes moving in at 0:39 was really an announcement of the 'new era' of videogames by R*... I know it seems really simple now, but watching those for the first time you really got the impression this was almost like an entirely new medium. This is where games were put on the map like movies when it came to production value, storytelling, themes etc. Still blows my mind how this was made in 2001, and so... SO unprecedented in what it did.
Maria didn't die. There was one more Cartel member that wasn't killed yet and was following them and that's why Clause shot the gun at him.

Claude was interpreted as a cooled blooded killer in this game if you think about it. He (the player) litrelly killed hundreds of people with out hesitation. There's no doubt in my mind that he killed Mariah for getting on his nerves. He chased after Catalina to get vengeance on her, not for his interest in Mariah. Why would he care about one girl when he (the player) shot, and ran over so many of them. I'm positive that he killed her at the end. People say that he shot the air, which makes no sense because there's no indication or proof that he did. It makes much more sense to assume that he killed her, don't you think?
It's up to the player to decide what they think happened, Rockstar said that themselves.
