Otsu is such a calm and nice city. I was there in the autumn of 2018, and it was a nice escape from the busy Kyoto, and only a short train ride through the mountains. There are some great restaurants near the train station.

I lived in Otsu for 6 years + until October 2023 (I had to go back to Canada). I'll return next year in spring 2025 for sure. If it's not to work, it'll be to travel and meet with my boyfriend, friends, and former colleagues! 😊

just got back from japan and this whole area was absolutely stunning with sakura blooms, loved otsu and shiga pref, check out hikone
