I really like your reviews. despite being in the hobby for 3 decades i learn new stuff from you as well so thank you. I lost my 30 years worth of airplanes and hobby equipment in a house fire that destroyed my house too. While it is being rebuilt I am looking at what I will replace. Started watching this yesterday and ordered one from FMS simply because it is a great airplane and i have had smaller ones.
I'm a noob... just got a Carbon Cub S 2 based on your review of it. I also ordered an NX8, due tomorrow. I love this Beaver and hope to be able to fly one someday without crashing it. BUT, it's so big, and I'm one of those RVer types that I'm not sure I have space for it. I actually ordered three of the UMX planes that I will fly after I figure out how to fly the Cub without crashing it.. but it'll be nice to have flaps on the Cub. The UMX planes are tiny and have a nice box so they'll be easy to store.
I love this plane can't wait till I get mine from my local hobby shop that has one on order for me. They are huge. My 2nd plane was the Cessna sky trainer v2 no stabilizers or safe modes on it just me and the sticks and it's an amazing plane for someone coming off the apprentice s15e e the bigger one. I have been flying 5 years now and still love my high wing trainer style planes and cessna's and cubs they are just fun planes that you can fly off ground or water I love water floats now here lately
Do you have the firmware up to date? If not, please do that, and you might find some of the features you weren't seeing. Also, the DX lineup is going to have some differences, but they are super close, so you'll have to decide if a particular feature is all that important. If it is, and you decide to upgrade to the NX10 - you will enjoy that too, but I think you should check our the firmware first. DX9 is a great Tx!
LOL - I know the feeling!!!! Good luck. A little beaver never hurt ;) Much less a HUGE beaver!!! Good luck. Check your motor mount screws when you're building yours!
Hey Brian. I’ve got a fms f18 and it has the reflex already in it, like the beaver. Do you think it would be better to use the ar620 or use an ar637t (in which I would take out reflex)? Thank for any feedback!
The gyro in the AR637T is much better. You can configure it from your radio, the Reflex gyro can only be configured from a Windows PC and not at the field.
Hi Brian ! the glue you work with ! it is from fms ? and about the receiver AR620 the range is it good ? nice video Brian like always! you make a great team together ! we are lucky to have you !
Hey Brian bought all your planes ( almost ) I need help with the Real Flight 9.7 what ever it is, I keep getting a message “ can’t find the controller “ the unit I plug in the usb port at the beginning, the program runs, but I have no controller, please help I need the practice as to not crash so much, I have 3 planes I refuse to unbox until I can fly without crashing. Then I’ll open the 2000 beaver and carbon cub and that sweet low wing censna. The jet you make look easy but I know she’s gonna be tough. Please help, I got the bug and want to fly, tired of climbing trees and hunting around the neighborhood looking for my night timber that flew away on me( thank god it was laying in someone’s front yard, it was easy to spot ,all lit up, glad I decided to drive around, and found on the front yard and not through someone’s front window(my nightmare) Please any ideas, called / wrote horizon ( which has a good product but the worst customer service I ever came across, how do you have a company that big and not a single person to talk to) Please help with the sim, I see your boy is using it. Thank you.
Okay, this was a "KNOWN ISSUE" that Horizon Hobby seems to be aware of. Call them up and they can send you a USB HUB, or if you have one, give it a shot, then it may be found. There was a strange batch of Tx'es that did that, and they caught it, but only after they were shipped, so the SECOND shipment got the little USB HUB included as a patch, but they've since FIXED IT. Spektrum and/or Horizon Hobby tech support will help you make this right. I'm sorry you're having this issue...but seriously, if you have a hub, it'll take you 2 seconds, and if you don't hit them up and they can help take care of that. I hate that you're having a hard time getting through to them... 1-888-959-2305 (airplane support)
I have removed the Reflex gyro in favour to use my Spektrum AR637T receiver build-in gyro because this receiver included gyro is MUCH better and can also be configured via my radio.
why is FMS still using bullet wing connections ? Ive had nothing but problems with them., I had to mod two plane because of them I pass on every FMS that has them now !
Tough call. Both excellent planes. Beaver is more detailed, but the Cessna 150T is more crazy capable. Thanks! Glad we can be part of your efforts to rebuild, and sorry to hear about that tragedy in your life. My parents had a tornado hit their house, and even with insurance in place, " t was like a year was stolen from my life" my dad used to say. I wish you the best of luck as you "restock".

I never thought about someone else at the field binding at the same time. Good tip!
Incredible plane. Incredible video. Incredible information. Thank you Brian. No heating paper clips for the wing strut pins on this one. 👍
Hi Brian. Those are called slotted flaps. Fowler flaps extend down and back from the wing to increase the wing surface.
