It’s very refreshing to hear someone like James speak on this, especially someone who truly knows what it’s like.

excellent job of running us through this james!!! having your insight is amazing! is there a chance that you would ever do some videos of you analyising some of your crashes and what led to them? having that kind of info for up and comers (and old farts like me..) would be an epic learning curve!!

He needs Tomac type mentality. If your contact falls out and your vision is blurry pull off and fix it. Loose a minute but live to fight another day.. think about that for the next 9 months 😮

That crash was painful to watch. But the fact that it was Forkner just made it twice as painful to watch. Soooo much respect the way he gets knocked down, and makes it back to the top. But I want him to make it to the top, and stay at the top.

Prayers and Mad RESPECT for the guy. He is faster than the 250 field he should let the 250 dream go and get healthy and right and move up to 450... He is that fast. I remember him out running Jett. He has one plenty of 250 races... Move up AF. I hope they put wresting matt down. They can still ride or drive the little side by side on that type of matt.

My thoughts exactly. I thought he should have taken the 450 ride that is in his contract and given up the 250 title dream. His mindset might change in that case from battling with a much younger equally talented Haiden to a solid 450 guy who makes mains.

I appreciate what you’re saying and he gets knocked down and gets back up. The point is he doesn’t learn from his mistakes again being fast, but being stupid and crashing and not finishing a race doesn’t mean jack shit being fast thank you said the sport is mental and physical their strategy to it. He is missing some thing that’s why he hasn’t finished a season yet, and that’s why danger boy won the race. Because he had all of the above, he played it perfect he rode his race, waiting for the other guy to make the mental mistake which he did

I always thought Martin Davalos took the worst crashes in Supercross.. nah, dude. Forkner takes the cake. When he crashes, he definitely crashes hard. His crash in Arlington was one of the most violent crashes I've ever seen.

Austins issue is he isn't willing to take the L when taking the L is your best choice to maximize points.
He is balls to the wall 100% of the time and won't back it down when needed.
If he could perfect that, SX championship for sure.
And even with a mediocre outdoor season, he would still come into SMX ranked high, and with the way the points are scored in SMX, it is basically a winner take all type of series, so Austin would have a chance to be a SMX champion too.
I hope the kid comes back one more time. He is so close.

No offence to him or anyone, but when I used to race I would back off when I knew I was riding above my capabilities, because I knew I would probably crash. In turn I wouldn't win many races. Sure I had the capability to win more often, but could I make all the laps in one piece? I just feel like past champions backed off a bit when needed and hardly ever crashed. Being the fastest isn't always the way to winning a championship. I've seen so many rookies come out to my local track and get fairly fast quick just to have a massive crash and end their moto journey. They don't know how to regain control of the bike when it get's squirrely at high speeds, they can't control the bike in the air at all yet and they are launching the big doubles, they haven't learned how to control their body weight on the bike. It's usually just a matter of time before a bad injury happens. Another thing is, they usually run used wore out boots or cheap entry level which don't have the protection they need when launching 75' gaps. Anyway, rant over. Sucks to see this happen but maybe he needs to slow down. IMO
