Fantastic video man! We just went out a bit ago spear fishing carp, except we were wading and hitting them in the shallows in clear water. Got 76 big ones among 6 guys in just a bit over an hour!
Oh I wish. I have tried a couple of times but the water is so murky I couldn’t see my hand a foot away from my face. Yuba is one of the few places it’s legal to spear game fish but you can’t see anything. Otherwise there would be a state record for pike.😁👍
Hey mate , your vids are a hoot to watch. Really cool! Just became sub38! We don't get to spear fresh water - not allowed down here in West Aussie! So get to watch your fun instead, thanks for sharing the adventure! What do you do with the Carp BTW? Over here they taste like a mud ball. Are they good on the tooth up there? Keep making the videos! Dive safe!
Thanks man! I just started trying out the carp. So far they’re not bad. I had one when I was younger and it was terrible so I didn’t eat any for a long time.
Thanks for helping to get rid of a global problem fish species. I wish that more spearfishermen would leave native fishes be and help out in this regard..
I usually pop the are bladder and sink them (that’s what the DNR asked us to do). I’ve used them for fertilizer and I am currently experimenting with eating them. I think the body of water they are harvested from effects how they taste. I’m going to try smoking some soon.
Carp are an invasive species to UT and if left unchecked will turn every body of water into what Utah Lake is. The DNR has spear fishing for Carp with no regulations as a way to help population control. In 2019 the DNR poisoned an entire lake out by Vernal to remove carp and restock with Largemouth and Bluegill. Do some research.
You guys are my heroes taking out those carp.
Thanks! Stay tuned. If you like that video you will definitely like the videos to come.

That’s awesome! Sounds like a great time.
So much fun
Thanks man!
Cool vid! Ever see any big trout or bass up in the weeds?
Thanks! I haven’t. In fact I haven’t had the chance to spear in the weeds for a few years. The water rarely get high enough.
Nice video guys, are you fishing up at the north east end where Provo river runs into the reservoir?
Thanks! This was along the road that leads to midway. It gets murkier the closer you get to the river.
Can you do one at yuba rez???? For carp

Boom!! You’re kill’ it!
Hey, I live in Utah and spearfish, I’m always looking for peeps to dive with!
Heck yeah man! I am as well. You going to the national tournament at Powell next week? We should dive sometime.

@@Hero_Spearo I think it depends on how muddy the water gets.
When do carp tend to spawn in this part of Utah? I'm still seeing snow in the mountains. Great video.
I believe they start about now. They are at Utah lake.

What part of deer creek is this?
The shallow side closest to Heber. The water reaches the bushes only in the spring.

Disgusting hobby, be better.
Mate these are invasive species they are taking out! It’s good for the environment!
@@novizadventures nope, naturalized, do some research
