i was thinking the same thing. instead of 50000 people just screaming because its a big hit..had actual people going thru the violence in person.
I was not in Ireland, but close family was in the 1970s thru 1988. March of that year brought shock, tears..Something changed 2 of my cousins..the last time I talked to them, they scared me when they said they were gonna "square things with those those who presume to be our masters".
I get a chill thinking about it now. Never heard from them after that. So when this song came out, my thoughts went straight there.

I can’t help but think how this song had many applications to real word events in the 90’s but yet still has a similar impact to modern day post COVID era. Regardless of the perception and viewpoint of any conflict, people are still hurting and worse. She is a spokesperson even if she didn’t want to but the words she helped bring to life can be felt now by any generation.

@@pumpkin418 British soldiers in the North were guilty of atrocities as were the people who covered them up but not the reason for "Zombie"- "There were a lot of bombs going off in London and I remember this one time a child was killed when a bomb was put in a rubbish bin - that’s why there’s that line in the song, ‘A child is slowly taken’. [ ... ] We were on a tour bus and I was near the location where it happened, so it really struck me hard - I was quite young, but I remember being devastated about the innocent children being pulled into that kind of thing. So I suppose that’s why I was saying, ‘It’s not me’ - that even though I’m Irish it wasn’t me, I didn’t do it. Because being Irish, it was quite hard, especially in the UK when there was so much tension"

This concert has an incredible quality and closeness, I have seen it in many occasions since my adolescence and they sound incredible the songs that premiered at the time as 'Daffodil lament', 'So cold in Ireland', 'Zombie', 'The Icicle Melts', 'Everything I said' and 'Empty'. And Dolores looks gorgeous in that red hat.☘️💚🌟☘️💚🌟☘️💚🌟

Fergal is the greatest drummer of 90s, better than Grohl. But he is irish.

I’ve been looking for this video for ages. The part where she talks about the bombings in Northern Ireland.
I feel like fame stole the authenticity and innocence from The Cranberries. They were raw back in the 90’s , but the constant media attention on Dolores took its toll over the years. RIP

I am pleased that this video is now unsealed. I bought a VHS tape of this video but it disappeared with time. I bought it on DVD, but it would be perfect if it was enhanced with better sound quality and video quality and released on Blu-ray.
Obviously, this live was their best performance.

Magnificent, formidable, wonderful voice and his unmistakable talent to convey a message of rebellion in the face of the pain that violence, weapons and bombs cause to the innocent.
