  • Join me on my latest trip to costco to restock my pantry. I’ll show you my tips for buying bulk food and groceries from costco for one how I separate everything for storage when you live alone to last longer and to save money. Costco is bulk food, but you can still shop for one, it just takes a little food storage preparation and organization.

    It is a stylized version of "Ash Blue" derived from the phonetic representation of "AshBlue". Perhaps its a bad channel name because its quite difficult to type with a regular keyboard, but if you just type "aesblu" the channel come up.
    Alternative spellings so the UA-cam algorithm picks it up:

    When packing and freezing ground meats, if you flatten them in the baggies after squeezing out all the air and closing them, they store neater and thaw quicker in the fridge.

      I've been doing that for years. Put 1 lb in quart size freezer bags. Stack them in freezer. Flat as pancakes!!

    In order to eat economically with nutrition as a priority one needs some basic organizational skills and the patients to complete the task. For the rest of us there’s always Grub Hub. Great video!

    Excellent video! I thoroughly enjoyed this. You're very organized, I must say, and your food prep bags and storage is great. You can go several days with everything you bought. You've got a very clean, tidy system going there. It must save you money I can imagine, shopping in bulk at Costco. This was a very relaxing video, and well done. Your storage containers are great too, and every one of those bags fit perfectly in your freezer drawer. 👍🤗

    I wish there was a Costco in Germany, but watching these videos is the closest I'll get :p back home when I used to live in Florida, there was a Costco equivalent called Sam's club, and as a kid I always found it so fascinating lol
    love these kinds of videos

      We used to go to Sam's before they added a costco to my town. Idk why but yeah, its so much fun shopping in the massive stores as a kid haha. Maybe they'll add one to Germany soon!

    This has inspired me to go shopping for food storage containers!! I've recently started living on my own and the idea of cooking is a bit daunting, especially for a college student. one thing I've started recently is keeping rice in the pantry and my greens in the refrigerator then buying meat as I need them for the day/night. I'll definitely hit up my local daiso for containers though.

    If you put a paper towel sheet (dry) in with salads it helps keep it fresher longer. Just change it out when it gets damp and adds a few extra days to the salad life

      @@aesbluI’m also a single person home and sometimes it’s so much cheaper to get the big bag of salad then an appropriate one person size so I spent far too long trying to learn how to not end up throwing out half of it😅

      Just one question. How did the bean sprouts keep up ?

    • @aesblu
      @aesblu  Місяць тому

      They kept up well in the fridge for a while, I just changed the water a few times. I froze some too, but they got a bit lost in the freezer so I'm not sure how well those kept, I'd better try them soon and see haha

    Thank you for this great video. I always struggle feeding myself and it's calming to see how you manage to prep food for yourself so easily and affordable. Maybe I can try to do things this way too. 😌

    You got that pumpkin pie just in time to celebrate Thanksgiving in Korea. Enjoyed your prep. Note waiting her for our Costco to put out that package of assorted Christmas sugar cookies soon. Hope you are able to get them there. Really enjoyed the video as always.

    For meat wrappings and anything organic that can make your trash smell, you can place that stuff in a ziploc bag and pop it in the freezer. Then when its time to take the trash out, just remove the waste from freezer and drop into your trash. No smells, no muss no fuss. 😆
