out of bounds wasn't marked anywhere on the ground or WSB for the left side. it was clear for the right thus it's abscence for the left was also clear. The area I used was not part of the berm as it was clearly walking area for taping & reseting. I'm upset with the consistently inconsistent application of rules in the IDPA space whether it's local matches or majors I see match footage of or hear about. That being said I earned the penalty I was given and I don't feel it's worth trying to fight over. somebody else can be that person and have FJS shirts made :) It was fun to shoot my carry gun in the carry setup.
so they argued I was on the berm and they'd ruled that spot where I was out of bounds before shooting began. The problem is they'd put a stage boundary on the stage and noted it in the WSB on the right side, but failed to do either of those for the left side where I was. Also, this area isn't part of the berm as it was common foot-traffic for taping, nevermind it was a raised area. I decided to not arb for 2 reasons: I didn't feel I could shoot it 10s faster in a reshoot especially with points down and misses on the mover coming into play and also it's IDPA they interpret stuff all weird and I don't think I would have prevailed in an arb. In the end, I was 2nd place with 20s behind 1st place(the MD) and the 10s penalty wouldn't have changed anything. The lesson here is shoot IDPA majors for fun and pewpew practice only. Rules are meh in this game. USPSA you will get variation, but not in this sort of way. good Range Masters even at locals will do whatever they can to avoid f**king over a competitor.

So I take it running around the wall to shoot the target and cut out a position violated "the intent of the stage"?
Once all targets are engaged you are able to freestyle the stage.

@@swiftaudi USPSA is much, MUCH more consistent in the officiating. If you haven't tried it, it's a pretty good time.
