I appreciate the big middle finger to North American fans by the series. I go to the official youtube channel to watch the first race of the season as we have for years only to find several short clips of the race with partial spoilers for what happens in the race, no race video, and no explanation for the North American viewer that they are no longer welcome or where they can go to watch.
Same boat here. I even had reminder set to get email for the live stream knowing I wouldn’t be able to watch right away. I can’t even figure out a legal way to pay and watch here, they seem to of blocked US out with no options. VPN worked though
@@bond007osu thanks, I saw them on the media pdf but it was hours after race so it wasn’t clear if they had it or not. Most elms races I don’t have time to watch live.

I really don't get this "safety car MUST follow VSC" rule. Why even bother with VSC then? Feels completely artificial; NASCAR-style bunching up the field for no reason ...
@@EuropeanLeMansSeriesOfficial I appreciate the response (not many channels bother with that), but that explains precisely nothing. The safety car rule is one you guys made, so you could just change that if you felt that the closed pit was a problem. Justifying a rule you made via a rule you made is really no justification at all ^^; But okay. Maybe you want to prevent everyone diving into the pits at the same time? Fair enough for cases where a safety car is then necessary because the accident can't otherwise be cleared up, but it still doesn't explain why after a VSC where the accident has been cleared up (as was the case here) the race just can't go green again with preserved gaps. Works fine after FCY after all ... Basically, what I'm saying is - give the race director the option instead of forcing a safety car when there's no reason for one?!
@@Sp4mMeI believe the issue with pitting during SC is that the safety car is trying to set the pace and warm up the tires and cars jumping into and out of the pits makes that hard
@@shamalyguy5066 I don't believe so (it's more about strategy fairness imo), but it's also besides the point; my point is that current regulation say IF you have a virtual safety car you MUST then have a full safety car afterwards. The great thing about virtual safety cars is that they preserve gaps. If somebody has a 10 second lead, they'll still have that lead after the virtual safety car ends. It's the fairer solution in terms of sporting results. Of course, sometimes overriding safety concerns demand a full safety car (particularly when people are on track). But "sometimes" is not "always". Thus, the OPTION not to have a safety car when a virtual safety car was enough to clear the track should exist. And currently apparently it doesn't.
The people commentating on the IMSA series and many of the European races including this series, all have the same idea. They pay little or no attention as to what is happening on track. Often making up some story that is total rubbish. i turn the volume down most of the time.
Big thanks to the ACO for selling out to the lowest bidder with a trash-tier service for streaming rights in the US. Guess I'll pay attention to competing series instead this year.

Great race thanks a lot for giving us the chance to see it live or on replay !!! So cool

I do have a general question, why do FCY instead of a slow zone? Are slow zones exclusive to other racing?
I hate how the pronounce Lorenzo Fluxa's name
Iron Dames had it with luck these couple weeks haven't they
these team names look like they come straight out of an iracing team event lol

VSC allows drivers to pit - in a SC situation, pits are closed for 3 laps, then open. So it allows teams to pit directly!

Some times the commentators & officials need to SHUT up. Over talking each other is most annoying.... 🤫
