I wasn’t planning on making a hyperpop song but here we are haha. I had a lot of fun messing with a genre I'm not very familiar with while trying to incorporate my own stylistic quirks. It was def a challenge to figure out the right instrumentation, so I really gotta take a sec to say god damn y’all pop/edm producers are so good at what you do

HOOOOLY SHIT finally got the chance to listen to this and i was hooked from the first five seconds. anri's tuning is incredible, its so powerful and vulnerable all at once.. and (if it wasnt obvious) as a creative, especially a producer, this hits wayyyy too close to home..... ive spent so many hours stressing about saving revenue, saying the wrong thing online, not working fast enough, etc etc, when none of that mattered in the first place because i wrote songs with my funny little robots to vent and to have fun.... thank you for this. gonna have this on repeat for a week or so T___T

@@xyncyan Garage band is free on ioS, so it's kind of worth it if you can't afford vision or cubase. start with 4/4 and look at how the beatmaps work. divide in 1/2 or 1/4 in the quantizing bar and try your best to get a basic metronome like beat going with any instrument. that's my basic advice for it, if you're trying to get started. :)

as always obsessed with the main melody, I don't know much about hyperpop but I love how this song came together, plus the video is so nice to look at and miku anri/the anri credits then looping back around to the real credits are such good touches, super cool vibe with this one

I’m not sure I have anything to say that hasn’t already been said, but everything about this is catchy as hell and already positively burrowed into my brain. And excellent commentary too- Overall just another banger on all fronts
Oh man, everyone involved did such a great job with this! I know this was already pointed out by people, but I love the Perfect Blue easter egg in the background. I questioned whether it was actually Perfect Blue at first, but then I remembered the movie's themes are all about celebrity culture, obsession, how it effects the person of interest, and the fear of how some people don't treat them to the same standards of normal people due to what they do despite, at the end of the day, still being human. The whole part about dehumanization and people not caring about the artists' boundaries really sold me on this meaning, personally. :0c
I also love how (someone else already pointed this out too but I want to say it again) the credits start out as Anri (possibly a reference to how some people really used to and some still do credit vocal synth songs by voice and not the actual producers) to loop back around to the real people responsible at the end. The fact that the whole song is about stress and worry makes me feel the song is way more interwoven with the digital/physical theme, as it begins with the audiences' false perception of the artist (without proper credits, the relatable themes of trying to compose a song) but delves into the more raw stress as things get more visibly tense, showing the real effects of everything until eventually breaking into the physical side of things, but in turn, making the choice to step away and heal - proper credits, the comment on needing a break and a new "happy place"; possibly another way to cope and feel relaxed that isn't involved with voice synths? I know a lot of people consider voice synths and the community a safe space, and that's perfectly fine! But sometimes when things get too overwhelming, it's perfectly okay to have backups in the form of other interests. It's only human. :>
