- Is this the hardest cyclocross course in the world? I think so...
Welcome to Clanfield cross and round 10 of the Wessex league. I have one word for today's race - brutal. With the tough climbs, tricky off-cambers, steps and walls to run up, there is no where to rest and it's full gas from start to finish.
I went out hot, got the hole shot but did I hang on?

Epic weather for December we got super lucky… this course is even more brutal when it’s muddy! We definitely dodged a bullet not having to climb up the banks in slippery mud 😂

This course really was brutal and made you hate every second of it but its hard to hate it when you get your best result of the season so far

Great video as always. Would you consider changing your gear ratio (cassette & chainring) next time?
Potentially… I have been considering putting a smaller chainring on for all races (I probably will next season)
As I tend to have a high cadence and don’t like grinding, with my current set up I am always at the top of the cassette and looking for more gears and I definitely could of done with some easier gears during this race 😅
I added a double crank and front derailleur to my stock Giant TCX with Sram axs, so I have 33/46 chainrings. Gives me 33F-36R low gear. Very handy and means I can ride where others run. Cheers Gary 🇦🇺
