Joel you are the whole package. What a man. You are handy and can seem to do anything around the house. Take care of 4 kids perfectly. And clean on top of it. Your mom should be so very proud of her self. She raised a real man.
I totally appreciate your upload timing! Works out perfectly for us Aussies! Nothing better than getting into bed after a long day with the kiddies and then watching a Hoellein Family Vlog 🙌🏼🤗💜
It's my opinion that you must hold the watermelon next to you second youngest child, in this case, Boston and compare them. If the watermelon is greener than Hulk Boston it's the right one for your family.
Jessica My mom always did, it is suppose to make the watermelon taste sweeter and also make it more juicy. I've tried it, and yes it made it more juicy, but I don't think it made any sweeter. 🍉🍉🍉
How to pick a ripe watermelon: 1. Look for the yellow field field spot 2. Make sure it's heavy 3. Look for the brown webbing marks, the bees pick out the sweet ones and leave their stinger marks on them hence the brown webbing. 🍉 Watermelon is the best part of summer!! ☀️
We love watching you guys! Joel you are such a great dad! We are very new youtubers and love every single one of your videos! And Bonnie you are beautiful and a great mom!
Joel, I can't believe how comfortable you look vloging in public. You look like you have been doing it for years. I love at 8:16 when the guy looks directly into the camera.
black stem on the end means the watermelon was picked ripe and not green. Hollow sound means it is ripe in the middle. A light sound means it is more green, green is a solid sound..
Joel a ripe watermelon will have a hollow sound when knocked, which sounds more like a 'plunk' than a 'thwack'. An unripe watermelon will have more of a higher pitched sound hahaha but love all the fruit your getting xxx
Aw I love Lincoln so much, and love that he has been in the vlogs so much lately. I have a little guy who is just a few months younger and it is so fun to watch the cuteness x 2.
You guys make the best couple , I smile like an idiot watching your vlogs 🙏🏻😻 I can smeeeell the love through the camera and your kids are absolutely beautiful ❤🙈 God bless you all
It is so different from where I have lived all my life. Long Island is flat and very congested. To see those roads with no one on them and to see the mountains is amazing to me.
Watermelon: 1)Look for a yellow/white spot on it..that means it sat on the vine getting ripe = sweeter 2) Knock on it..it should sound Hallow 3) It should feel heavy for it's size
💻Thank God it was just the laptop and not Boston hitting his face on the edge of the sink! I paused the video trying to get to see the laptop falling into the water, and I saw Boston acting like an equilibrist, standing in that thin edge while wearing socks and hustling with Olivia and Cody! ツ
I also used to be a watermelon knocker, but actually what you want to look for is the yellow spot on the bottom to show it's ripened and also for the little black dots that look almost like bugs seeping out - that's sugar and will mean it's sweeter. haven't gotten an under ripe watermelon since learning that.
When picking a watermelon, look at the stem where they cut it from the vine, it should be turning brown because the watermelon is done growing and is starting to separate itself from the vine, signifying that it is ripe. If it's green at the stem, it was ready to be picked yet.
coming from the US, they're referred to as Clementines! I don't think I've ever heard anyone call it a Mandarin! that usually refers to processed clementines in juice! that's just my experience though!
Bonnie, what an awesome day for you! So happy for you-I can't think of a more beautiful role model inside and out for women and girls alike! Joel-way to be an awesome Dad, as always! Xo
I read in a Better Homes and Garden magazine that the larger yellow spot on a watermelon the longer it was on the vine so the riper. Sweeter it will be. And I choose my watermelons that way and it has a good result!!!🤗🍉
Bonnie I have mentioned it previously, but you are seriously handbag goals!!! each one you have is gorgeous. the burgundy one is one of my favorites ♡♡
BONNIE You look like a freakin BABE😍 with your new hair like seriously!? i LOVE IT!!😘 And yes Joel, everything Lincoln was doing in todays Vlog was 100% necessary and extremely cute! #TeamLincoln 😂💕
Courtney Mynheer Oh no! Well, she posted a picture yesterday, she got some extensions and she looks beautiful!😍 I guess you will in tommorrows vlog! ☺💕
I love to watch ur vlogs ! It's pretty amazing even though it's a small part of ur day and small duration! It's amazing to watch! Makes me feel soooo happy! Lincoln is sooooo pretty cute and those oranges o my god love it! ❤️and Boston is my most fav kiddo! Love the way he smiles and it's really cute! I love each and every second of this vlog! I'm excited to see her new transformation to her hair! I love the whole family❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I died at the watermelon part. 🤣 When looking for a watermelon, you're looking to see which one sounds the most hollow. If you bang on it and it has a deeper sound, it's usually more sweet.
oh noo the poor lap top . :O it is also cold and rainy here in Kansas as well !! We just got through a week of tornados and bad weather and more to come! Everyone stay safe!!!!!!!!
How in the world did Lincoln break his bumbo lol. It is so amazing seeing you be so involved with the kids, Joel! And teaching them to take one for the team is adorable. I may steal that from you. Lol. Also- I know you are great parents and you do what you are comfortable with in your home, but having Lincoln on the table top at his age not properly secured is extremely dangerous. 😬 especially with the stairwell being on the other side of that low wall. I love you guys but please consider a different seating arrangement for him. Hugs. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
The reason why I always watch your videos it's because it it's nice and your face and you're always funny especially Lincoln he's a larious when he was doing
If Boston doesn't like broccoli, I always put shredded cheese on it while it is still warm, it adds so much flavor and is really good! I highly recommend that if he likes cheese
You guys are great with your kids and they are lovely children. I just wanted to know how you tought each of them when they were smaller and on the dining table in the baby booster seat to stay away from the edge by the stairs. My kids would go straight towards that edge to see whats down there and give me a heart attack!😊
Over the last few years I'm finding the months of season changes are really off, here in Australia the leaves started to change colour 2 weeks ago and winter starts on the first of June 🤔
When looking for the right watermelon, you want it to sound hallow when you knock on it. A friend once explained it so wonderfully to me: Think about a plastic reusable water bottle. Does it sound like that bottle is full with water or does it sound like its empty. Works every time!!
Also the smaller the melon the more high pitch it's supposed to sound. The bigger the melon it's supposed to sound deeper. If you tap on it while holding the melon you should feel the vibrations through the melon.
Always get the watermelon with a nice big yellow spot! It means it's been sitting on the ground longer so it will be nice and ripe and so sweet! Yum! 🍉
You may already know this tip Bonnie but the first time I spilled (poured) coffee into a laptop I was working from home. I panicked and phoned my boss. He said to lay out a very absorbent towel and place the open laptop upside down on the towel with the screen hanging off the side of the table so the keyboard touches the towel. It worked. I had no damage that affected the workings of my pc. I have never submerged my laptop but I did have a major cellphone underwater mishap. That time, I put uncooked rice in a sandwich bag. I placed the cell (without its shell) and the battery separately into the bag of rice so they were surrounded by rice. I left it there for a few hours (there's online advice re how long cuz I forget). It totally dried out and it works fine now except I have to recharge the battery more often than before.
The watermelon with the biggest yellow spot on it is the juicy ripe one! it means they got to sit and ripen on the vine longer. The greener it is the less "developed" It is therefore less juicy sweet
I am shocked at how cheap your fruit and vegetables are. A bag that size her in my town in Canada would be almost $7 for just one. I would totally be eating more fruit and veges if they were that cheap!
Look for a yellow/brown spot on watermelon to find a ripe one. My girls LOVE watermelon! Love you guys Bonnie your hilarious, you remind me of me lol same age to girl!
Joel you are the whole package. What a man. You are handy and can seem to do anything around the house. Take care of 4 kids perfectly. And clean on top of it. Your mom should be so very proud of her self. She raised a real man.
i like how confident joel has gotten. over the vlogs with vlogging. joel u are an awesome dad. bonnie u are an amazing mom. .
"What do you think oranges grow on trees?" 😂😂 dad joke for the win
Kelsie Edwards Oh do they though😆😆
Kelsie
Lindsey Applegate i
i love how comfortable Joel looks with the camera. Like one year ago was totally different. Congrats!!! 💜💜💜
Find the "ugliest" watermelon! With the brown cracking & yellow sunspot. That means it had the most exposure to the sun & has ripened the most! :)
Stephanie Osoria mmmmm yup! Always turns out to be the best watermelon
Stephanie Osoria I heard that somewhere, also! Love me some watermelon 🍉
yep thats exactly how.
I totally appreciate your upload timing! Works out perfectly for us Aussies! Nothing better than getting into bed after a long day with the kiddies and then watching a Hoellein Family Vlog 🙌🏼🤗💜
Cher Smith oh yes!! that's just as goooood! 💕🍵
Man im late but im in be still and yeah other Aussies i love this Upload timing
I totally agree I'm an Australia too. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
It's my opinion that you must hold the watermelon next to you second youngest child, in this case, Boston and compare them. If the watermelon is greener than Hulk Boston it's the right one for your family.
Linda Sharp OMG!😂😂😂👍👍
good one
Linda Sharp I feel like you should be the next potato guy.
Anna Huynh ok, Anna, I don't know what that means but I'm game
this is so funny I live it
"You're trick'in" 😂😂 hilarious!! And that fruit looks so yummy! Hope you put salt on the watermelon 😍😍
Mandi Donahue ⁉
Jessica My mom always did, it is suppose to make the watermelon taste sweeter and also make it more juicy. I've tried it, and yes it made it more juicy, but I don't think it made any sweeter. 🍉🍉🍉
Mandi Donahue try it with Tajin
GREATJOB. Joel. drone footage is awesome. and your Dad skills are awesome too. 😘😍😛🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
No need to knock on the watermelon! Just check for a nice somewhat flat yellow spot on the side and you're good to go.
Count the amount of times Joel says "bud" in this video 😂👌🏼
OMG😱 I ment shot!
Joel and the broccoli sharing was incredible. I'm so impressed with the closeness of your family and how open and genuine you all are. Thank you
How to pick a ripe watermelon:

I love the conversation Joel and Boston 💖
You guys are amazing 😉
You deserve 1 million xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Let me tell you! Great Daddies are just so
We love watching you guys!
Joel, what wonderful little helpers you and Bonnie have!
If you hear a hollow sound in the watermelon then it's a good one
black stem on the end means the watermelon was picked ripe and not green. Hollow sound means it is ripe in the middle. A light sound means it is more green, green is a solid sound..
Look for a black stem and a creamy yellow spot. That's how you know it's ripe.
Also needs to be heavy and solid but sound hollow
Joel a ripe watermelon will have a hollow sound when knocked, which sounds more like a 'plunk' than a 'thwack'. An unripe watermelon will have more of a higher pitched sound hahaha but love all the fruit your getting xxx
Aw I love Lincoln so much, and love that he has been in the vlogs so much lately. I have a little guy who is just a few months younger and it is so fun to watch the cuteness x 2.

That was totally adorable! I feel like I want to give Joel some oranges since Lincoln kept eating his. That baby is an eating machine. 😁😁😁
It is so different from where I have lived all my life. Long Island is flat and very congested. To see those roads with no one on them and to see the mountains is amazing to me.

its great that your kids looking at the fruit not the candy:)

I absolutely LOVE seeing Joel with the kids! He's so sweet to them and it's obvious they love their daddy💜 I enjoyed eating watermelon with you guys😁🍉
I could watch Lincoln eat alllllllll day. What a cutie!!!
Big hugs from my family to yours from Melbourne, Australia xx
Watermelon: 1)Look for a yellow/white spot on it..that means it sat on the vine getting ripe = sweeter 2) Knock on it..it should sound Hallow 3) It should feel heavy for it's size
I LOVE WHEN JOEL VLOGS please please please let him take over camera duty more often. plus his music choice is amazing.

This is honestly one of my favorite vlogs! Joel you're hilarious!
💻Thank God it was just the laptop and not Boston hitting his face on the edge of the sink! I paused the video trying to get to see the laptop falling into the water, and I saw Boston acting like an equilibrist, standing in that thin edge while wearing socks and hustling with Olivia and Cody! ツ

The drone footage Joel has been getting is amazing! And Bonnie's hair is BEAUTIFUL! ❤️

You guys are awesome. I love watching your videos daily!
Do you call mandarins, oranges? The ones you ate at home looked like mandarins.
Carissa Gorman we do too lol, easy for the kids
I was thinking it was a cultural thing. I am in Australia.
Carissa Gorman An orange is an orange, is an Orange! 😁🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊
I've never got why other countries called them oranges... Wouldn't you get confused?
Like, I like oranges but not mandarins.
coming from the US, they're referred to as Clementines!
Xo
Seems like Lincoln is a really good eater....so cute!
Also, the fruit Jole was peeling for Boston and Lincoln was tangerine not oranges.
Awesome drone footage!
I'm so excited for Bonnie! having her picture up in the new Albion Fit store 😍 way to go!!!
Lincoln's little feet are so cute when he's sitting on the counter!!!!! Aww I miss the baby stages.
Bonnie is such a babe haha. Amazing video-- loved these little dad/kids snapshots!! also adored the drone footage. 👌
Looking forward to seeing Bonnie's hair. It always looks so nice to me.
I read in a Better Homes and Garden magazine that the larger yellow spot on a watermelon the longer it was on the vine so the riper. Sweeter it will be. And I choose my watermelons that way and it has a good result!!!🤗🍉

I died at the watermelon part. 🤣
When looking for a watermelon, you're looking to see which one sounds the most hollow. If you bang on it and it has a deeper sound, it's usually more sweet.
😂😂😂Poor Joel, knocking does nothing....you are supposed to sniff the end where it was connected to the vine, if it smells sweet it is ripe😊
oh noo the poor lap top . :O it is also cold and rainy here in Kansas as well !! We just got through a week of tornados and bad weather and more to come! Everyone stay safe!!!!!!!!
Lincoln is so Sweet. I can't believe how big he is
Beautiful drone footage Joel, loved it!
You guys are still frozen and we're melting in Boston! 95 yesterday! Utah is so crazy - just like New England!
I so love seeing how Joel deals with the kids.
I love your family so much💓😊
Aww Boston sounds even cuter with a cold!
I absolutely loved this vlog! Joel is an amazing dad!
I LOVED how the kids helped with Boston's broccoli - most parents wouldn't do that, but I love that Joel did it! I think he just wanted watermelon :)
Lincoln cracks me up! He REALLY loves his fruit!
How in the world did Lincoln break his bumbo lol.
It is so amazing seeing you be so involved with the kids, Joel! And teaching them to take one for the team is adorable. I may steal that from you. Lol.

Wow that drone footage was beautiful, easy to see why you choose to live there
I find that the watermelons that are more of a faded green are always sweeter, the more vibrant ones seem to be a little more bitter
Your hubby is so amazing love the wink!
The cut from scenery to peanut better was perfect!
The reason why I always watch your videos it's because it it's nice and your face and you're always funny especially Lincoln he's a larious when he was doing
Joel is such a great dad
Bonnie, your dress is so pretty!!! I love it, and you're gorgeous! Love watching your videos every day. 💕
I love you guys ❤ I was watching 9ld vlogs and it's crazy to see how much your kids are growing!!!
If Boston doesn't like broccoli, I always put shredded cheese on it while it is still warm, it adds so much flavor and is really good! I highly recommend that if he likes cheese

"do you think oranges just grow on trees" LOL joel
Over the last few years I'm finding the months of season changes are really off, here in Australia the leaves started to change colour 2 weeks ago and winter starts on the first of June 🤔
I just noticed the new profile pic and the blog started and Bonnie is wearing the same jean jacket as in the pic! Love it! I want one!
When looking for the right watermelon, you want it to sound hallow when you knock on it. A friend once explained it so wonderfully to me: Think about a plastic reusable water bottle. Does it sound like that bottle is full with water or does it sound like its empty. Works every time!!
when tapping on watermelons you want one that sounds hollow!
I was searching in the comments to see if someone was going to comment this.
Also the smaller the melon the more high pitch it's supposed to sound. The bigger the melon it's supposed to sound deeper. If you tap on it while holding the melon you should feel the vibrations through the melon.
This was one of the best vlogs honestly!! :D
I really love Cody's hair in this video! I know it's not done on purpose but he looks really cool like that :)
Hahahah I hope your laptop is okay! And it's totes okay with the more Lincoln footage I love watching no matter who it is!!!! 😘
Always get the watermelon with a nice big yellow spot! It means it's been sitting on the ground longer so it will be nice and ripe and so sweet! Yum! 🍉
Bahaha, dying at the watermelon advice Joel! I couldn't agree more :)
those torn knee jeans...the little boyness of it is so stinken precious!!
I love that lesson with your kids, Joel. (at the dinner table) I'm hoping I remember that so I can use it on my kids.
You may already know this tip Bonnie but the first time I spilled (poured) coffee into a laptop I was working from home. I panicked and phoned my boss. Look for a dark green watermelon with a bright yellow spot
coolest dad ever
The watermelon with the biggest yellow spot on it is the juicy ripe one! it means they got to sit and ripen on the vine longer. The greener it is the less "developed" It is therefore less juicy sweet
I am shocked at how cheap your fruit and vegetables are. A bag that size her in my town in Canada would be almost $7 for just one. I would totally be eating more fruit and veges if they were that cheap!
My Anxious Heart that's the price per pound
My Anxious Heart that's not all over the us I live on Long Island and fruit is so expensive here
lol, I realize that. It's still way cheaper then what I would pay where I live.
Your drone footage is the best.
Look for a yellow/brown spot on watermelon to find a ripe one. My girls LOVE watermelon! Love you guys Bonnie your hilarious, you remind me of me lol same age to girl!
