I'm a relatively new ARMY, but I'll explain it as best I can: BTS debuted June 13, 2013, with the song "No More Dream." FESTA is the anniversary of their debut. There are videos of festa's past, all the way back to 2014, which was the very first one. As the group's popularity grew, so did the scope, and length of the celebration. There are events all over the world, now, but Seoul, South Korea, is still the main focus. Most of the events held in Seoul, at that time, are shared online, as well, so International ARMYs can be a part of it. There's usually a FESTA dinner, where all seven get together, and discuss the past year, and what we can look forward to, in the coming year. Since Jin and JHope are enlisted, now, and the others will soon be joining them, we don't really know whether, or not, there will be a dinner, this year. There is usually a song released from BTS to ARMY. This year, and in the past, a group of ARMYs recorded a song for BTS, as well. Jimin listened to it, in the most recent Weverse Live that he did. There is quite a bit of controversy surrounding it, which is very sad, because it's a lovely song, and it's been taken down, pending review, for copyright issues. That's the basics of FESTA. [ETA: the copyright allegations are false, and an attempt to exhort money from the creators. I really hope it's resolved quickly, because the creators worked so hard, on this.] It's fun watching you go through the process of sliding down the rabbit hole. It brings back so many memories, back when I was just wanting to know their names. 🥹 There's so much content. They feed us so well. 💜 I'd like to suggest that you watch the live performance of "Dionysus", and the music video of "Black Swan", at some point. They're both *chef's kiss* excellent!

John Reaves sent me here :) I hadn't known about you before, but I've been liking your videos so far (also yay another nerd and I say that with the most love because I spotted Totoro in the background lol). I saw that you watched the ARMY YT doc by boracity. I didn't watch your reaction, but I did see some of the comments. I hope any misunderstandings were cleared up for you about what it means to be ARMY though. While you still have a lot to learn, even now after a couple of months, you're what I've learned to call others as "infant ARMY" lol Baby ARMY is just the next step up, but you seem to genuinely like the boys, so I look forward to seeing your full-blown ARMYness. I've only been around since the beginning of 2021 (with my first exposure in February 2020), but I didn't consider myself ARMY until the beginning of October, and there's still so much for me to learn! I've been listening to kpop ever since 2012, and I would always listen to BIGBANG, CNBLUE, FTISLAND, GIRLS GENERATION, things like that, but I remember bts debuting because I was watching the mnet stream. Loving all the reactions so far (I've binged them all 😂) if you want to get a good taste of BTS making award shows a personal concert I would recommend the MMA 2019 (persona, boy in love, boy with love, mikrokosmos, dionysus and some insane solo performances) or 2018 (fake love, airplane pt 2 and idol) performance The 2019 mma awards are in my opinion one of the best examples of how insane BTS gets at award shows
Fire is not only a 'fun' song. I think we westerners can't really imagine the pressure the korean society puts on their people (highest youth s*icidal and lowest birth rate in the world! (But South Korea became the economic wonder in only 50 years because of the way they did things. )

I think there is a tendency by some to say guys in black hoods are haters. I think that creates a generic visual trope which decontextualizes BTS's varying use of hooded images. In the song Fire it is just as plausible that Suga is jumping the fence with youth written on it to meet what could be his mundane anonymous future adult self if he were to take a straight and narrow path as promoted by society. Suga reaches out and sets this image aflame by putting on the individuality and unchained youth contained in his music. Jungkook circles the flaming image on a bicycle wearing a sports coat and shorts watching but unconcerned for the darkness of a restrictive path which is being burned up. Jungkook's clothing symbolizes he is at a crossroads of becoming adult but unwilling to take it a full dive into adulthood. The bicycle in my mind symbolizes he is still engaging his youth. In the lyrics Further into the track, J Hope says I am just an ordinary person with the line don't call me a spoon (golden spoon) and Jin says it's ok to lose. This builds on youthful activities like staying out late and drinking earlier referenced. BTS says youth can make mistakes by living their life as they see fit and despite society they will be ok. I am sorry but the black hooded man does not appear to be a hater. In fact, Fire and its sister song Dope taken together are to some extent about taking on society as far as how it constricts young people and prejudicially characterizes a whole generation. Dope literally plays in the opening of the Fire mv reinforcing the two-tiered approach to the social ills young people endure BTS wants to convey. So I think those running site to site saying hooded guys are haters do not give BTS enough credit for being able to use their images variously. They box an image. If anyone has any doubts, please watch Fake Love on the MMA and MAMA stages.
Them crossing the fence of 'Youth' to approach the 'adult', literally 'youth' on fire, song is about living your life. The backup dancers dressed in black dancing along with them and at no point portraying antis. ... But the comment section: "The dudes in black are haters" ... I will never understand. the song doesn't hit on that at all.

Oh I LOVE Hinton. So on the main drag there is a hotel with A (now Korean restaurant) Used to be a Japanese spot me and the wife went to alot! The lady was SO MEAN in there at first but she slowly warmed up to us haha!

The world is all over the place. just at the start of our spring here in Canada it was +31 cel. like for 2 full weeks... no rain in site. now its 11 deg and non stop rain. Thank god though our forest fires were out of control!

If you watch the official music video to airplane pt2, keep in mind they will be singing in Japanese, not korean. They are saying "el mariachi." You probably won't notice at first but as you dive deeper into them you'll start identifying the difference. We celebrate festa for almost a whole month which is great, we are currently in one right now.
Lastly run bts episodes are the best!!! Hilarious but read fast and ignore the rules to the games lmao.

I think there is a tendency by some to say guys in black hoods are haters. I think that creates a generic visual trope which decontextualizes BTS's varying use of hooded images.
In the song Fire it is just as plausible that Suga is jumping the fence with youth written on it to meet what could be his mundane anonymous future adult self if he were to take a straight and narrow path as promoted by society. Suga reaches out and sets this image aflame by putting on the individuality and unchained youth contained in his music. Jungkook circles the flaming image on a bicycle wearing a sports coat and shorts watching but unconcerned for the darkness of a restrictive path which is being burned up. Jungkook's clothing symbolizes he is at a crossroads of becoming adult but unwilling to take it a full dive into adulthood. The bicycle in my mind symbolizes he is still engaging his youth. In the lyrics
Further into the track, J Hope says I am just an ordinary person with the line don't call me a spoon (golden spoon) and Jin says it's ok to lose. This builds on youthful activities like staying out late and drinking earlier referenced. BTS says youth can make mistakes by living their life as they see fit and despite society they will be ok.
I am sorry but the black hooded man does not appear to be a hater. In fact, Fire and its sister song Dope taken together are to some extent about taking on society as far as how it constricts young people and prejudicially characterizes a whole generation. Dope literally plays in the opening of the Fire mv reinforcing the two-tiered approach to the social ills young people endure BTS wants to convey.
So I think those running site to site saying hooded guys are haters do not give BTS enough credit for being able to use their images variously. They box an image. If anyone has any doubts, please watch Fake Love on the MMA and MAMA stages.
