I graduated from Houston WGU with my bachelors in nursing in 2020. During the program, I worked full time. Passed my nclex the first time. Great school. Very flexible. Currently working in labor and delivery.
Omg! I haven’t even watched the whole video yet, but I’m so freaking excited you made a video on WGU! I’m an LVN in Houston & I was planning on contacting WGU this week about my RN. This was my confirmation to do it!
Thank you for all of this info! I have been contemplating WGU for awhile. With work and a family I have been making excuses. Getting the ball rolling is the hardest part, but the first step to new beginnings. I look forward to following your journey. 💜
Hey girl this is such a helpful video! I’m currently working as an LVN in houston. I received my LVN from San Jac north! You’re video made me much interested in WGU! Thanks sm!!
Thank you for sharing, Sana! I've been looking for more information on WGU and like you mentioned, I haven't been able to find much! This is a great resource. Thanks, again!
I started WGU November 2021. I am in the RN to MSN program. Your dump file in biochemistry is excellent. You are correct. WGU does allow flexibility however you have to be dedicated to the work. Night Owl Nurse
I don't care for Capella so I decided on WGU or Bellevue. I will likely go with WGU. I like the fact that you can repeat without the failed grade showing up on your transcrip. You can also complete quickly. Some can get a course done within a week. The down side is they don't do letter grades.
Do I need to retake the prerequisites classes to get in ? I took them when I got my LVN but I thought I read somewhere they don’t transfer over ? I left messages no reply yet Edit: I think I just heard the answer 🙂
Hey sis! I'm also in Houston in the prelicensure program now. I'm stuck on Biochem and start labs next week. Do you mind sharing the FB group where notes for this class were shared? Was it just the Biochem Study Group?
@@TheTwinDiaries i go to Pikes Peak in Colorado . Im currently in my 3rd semester and I love it so far. Nothing too hard so far lol Thank you so much for doing this q&a and I wish you the best in school ❤😘
CRNA programs are very competitive and GPA based. You will earn GPA of 3.0 graduating from WGU. It's not recommended to attend WGU if you want to become a CRNA your 3.0 GPA from WGU will not be competitive. However if you're interested in NP. WGU has a NP program.
Hi there! Im thinking of applying to WGU. My counselor told me only about 5 ppl will be accepted into the cohort in my city. Does the cohort include the first semester, prior to clinical? Or is it the first semester then join the cohort which involves clinicals?
it includes the first semester prior to clinical, because in order to move on to the clinicals in the 2nd semester you have to be successful in the first semester
For the prelicensure it’s in a 2 week span. In one semester. You go three days in one week for 12 hours. They partner you with a nurse and you go the days that nurse works. RN To BSN there is no clinicals.
@@TheTwinDiaries How far in advance do you know the days your are assigned? Wondering if they give students enough time in advance to request the days off work for the days clinical are scheduled.
So WGU doesn't give grades which means you can't calculate your GPA. You just get Pass or Fail for each class. Does that bother you? You won't be able to transfer to other accredited schools after you graduate because you need a GPA for other programs in order to transfer anywhere. Does that make you nervous? Does that also influence your decision to go back to the school if you ever decide to pursue a degree post Bachelors because I guess you can't really transfer anywhere else that is accredited or legit? If you don't want to pursue any other degrees after completing the program I understand deciding to attend the school. However I think it would make people think twice before attending if they knew that bit of info. Just curious about your thoughts about the whole grading system. It was nice to hear your perspective of the school so far.
You actually do get a GPA it transfers as a 3.0 And many people have gone to other programs after WGU, as I stated in Houston it’s actually one of the most popular schools for Nurses. I genuinely love the school, the affordability, etc so as of now I’m not interested in continuing but if I was it would be with WGU.
@@TheTwinDiaries Ok thats awesome. Thanks for sharing. It didn't say that on the website so that's the main I was wondering about that program. Thanks for replying & letting me know.
Yes it was discontinued from what I heard it had a lot to do with the clinical sites. Apparently California makes it a lot harder for schools than other states.

I made a C in biochemistry when I took it at UofH. Will WGU accept the transferred credit?

They tell you the week but not the exact dates until they know which sometimes is last minute. Normal for any normal school.
