City of Lloydminster | Street Sweeping

Spring is here, and snow has melted, leaving behind loose sand and debris-that means it’s time for city sweeping crews to hit the streets so we can have a vibrant and clean community.
Street cleaning operations aim to minimize debris entering stormwater collection systems, reduce dust, and provide clean roadways.
By following these neighbourly tips, our crews can work faster and more efficiently-saving the city money, which can be allocated to more municipal improvements!
Over the coming weeks, you will see signs around your neighbourhood indicating that a street sweeping crew will be coming by. So what does this mean for me as a resident?
When you see these signs, it means street sweeping crews will be working in your neighbourhood from 6 a.m. Monday to 6 a.m. on Friday. As a reminder, street sweeping does not occur throughout the day on Fridays, as crews are completing general equipment maintenance. Work together to ensure all vehicles are removed from the streets, allowing street sweepers to work efficiently.
On days where waste and organics collection overlap, we transition into industrial areas or priority, non-residential routes. The night before your scheduled garbage collection, ensure your bins are out by 7 P.M., and after pickup, have them removed by 7 P.M. to allow for street sweeping to take place later in the evening.

If cars or bins are not removed, crews may have to come back another day to try again, meaning a longer wait for clean streets in your neighbourhood.
