You did okay. And this is not an attack on you but if you look at the video when LS played at the Oakland Coliseum Stadium you will see how much the bass was used from 8:42 till the end of the song. The bassist was working the fretboard up and down.
Great cover, never realized how amazing thi bassline was! But I was watching a live version from 1977 and it looked like the bassist (forgot his name) was playing a different bassline from this one and maybe more complex (which is something). I wonder if I could find this one isolated or covered
nice. the whole reason I came though was 8:10 to see you do that big run up. pretty sure that's the bass part on the original track? I guess it could be guitar, but sounds way more badass on bass.
The part you want to hear IS bass. Played by Ed King on the album and by Leon Wilkeson from ‘72 to about 2001. ‘77 live in Oakland version will show Wilkeson just about shredding on bass.
Good job, but you GOTTA build the bass at the end of the main solo. That bass riff brings down the house and you completely left it out. You left out several other key runs that are important to the song. You’ve obviously got the chops to do them, so don’t understand why you left them out. In one band that I played with, we ended every gig with FREE BIRD. Our lead guitar player was awesome, but he once told me that as important as the guitar solo is to the song, the BASS RIFFS were MORE important. It’s not often a guitar player will give up the spotlight to a bass player, but I think he’s right. Or at least if it’s not more important, it’s AS important. Great cover though. Would love to see you re-do this and include the bass runs. C’mon man, you can do it!
Nothing you said was wrong per se, but god damn that was weird and patronizing. dude can play how he wants. it’s a cover brotha… you finished every gig with free bird??😂 super corny and overdone. we only play it when requested nowadays. however, more often than not there is a drunk dipshit screaming freebird the second they enter the bar. you really wrote a book just to say he should play busier and fill space because YOU wanted to hear that. best to keep shit to yourself sometimes. you just come off as an asshole. dude did better than you could ever do. guaranteed.
Who really cares if he is doing it like the original Only nic picking so called perfectionist. Who really are not that interested in pure talent when they hear it then simply don't listen to them. I find your version is good enough to listen to anytime. 👏👏👏👏👍🤗😉
I find it annyoing he didn’t include the ”bass solo” part in the song where you clearly hear the bass rise up and cut through the mix. That’s the best part of this song from basses perspective.
Thank you very much 😉 I'm glad that it helped you. Unfortunately I don't have tabs. I figured out the bass line by my heart. I hope it would be enough for you to play along. 😊 Greetings from Slovenia and thanks for support.
Leon's bassline and the song predate the recording of PRONOUNCED... So while Ed absolutely played the bassline on the studio album, Leon's version as heard on One More From The Road did come first. Maybe both count as original? :-)
Really enjoyed your cover. The second half of the song is pretty busy. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you very much and greetings from Slovenia. I really like your channel. \m/
the bass is an under rated part of this song. Of course the two guitars harmonizing are great, but the bass really moves things along
Totally Agreeeed!!!!!
Three guitars lol. Skynyrd rocks!
Subestimado, pero cuando no está se nota 😊
took me 3 years to realize how amazing the bass line is in this song
Have you heard the isolated track? 😮It's on UA-cam: Free Bird - Isolated Bass
Great song, great bass cover!!!!

Thank you for support. I'm just playing by heart and enjoying it. This video was actually shot in first take. 😀
That rocks man! Fantastic job!

same, I came to hear that big bass riff at 8:10, the run up the frets, but I'm gonna keep looking to see someone do that live...

It's a good cover, but you didn't play the part I came for. 🤔
I know you can do it!
Great cover 😃🤘🎸
Best Rock song ever in my opinion
technically not a rock song ;-)
@@grisling1851 wait, per definition it is, or am I wrong?
@@qaballxro_6918 Like Stairway, it is a ballad, but it is a rock ballad; more specifically, it is a southern rock ballad.
Mandou muito bem! Brilhante!
Final Free Bird Drum Fight Theme! - 7:25
You didnt play the bass run at 8:00
Amazing bass cover, just what I'm looking for to help play bass, if you get chance could you drop the tabs somewhere (if you have already my bad)
Thank you very much 😉 I'm glad that it helped you. Unfortunately I don't have tabs. I figured out the bass line by my heart. I hope it would be enough for you to play along. 😊 Greetings from Slovenia and thanks for support.
Thank you very much. Sorry, I don't have tabs, I only played by my heart and ear.
Great cover, but Leon’s rifts is extra ordinary never knew bass could be played that fast because of his fingera
Hi What pedals are you using ? Thanks
You can check that on my website: www.raefyda.com/ Thanks for support 🤟
Uffff
It's not what Leon played but it's still good
Ed King played bass on Free Bird lol
La base esta super bien pero Leon va subiendo la escala con las guitarras en el lead final y no lo hiciste no se por que si tocas muy bien
Thank you. Because I tried to simplified it.
Where can I find the tabs for this
Sorry, I do not have tabs for this version. I play only by my heart.
Raefyda Bass Vibrations I can respect that
What tabs did you use?
Unfortunately You didn't do wilkeson's original bassline
Wilkeson didn't play original bass line. It was ED KING
Leon's bassline and the song predate the recording of PRONOUNCED... So while Ed absolutely played the bassline on the studio album, Leon's version as heard on One More From The Road did come first. Maybe both count as original? :-)
Nice tone but you didn't really play the hard stuff, e.g. around 8:00; it's a lot harder in the real song
Falta una escala en el bajo nadie la escucha???
Mucho talento, mucha ota... cero oido
I especially don't care about no freebird
