By far the best explanation for these lenses. Im new to this type of filming and this explained it all
We're glad the explanation helped clarify how the lenses work.
Nong noch gardens!
Does it fit iPhone 16 pro max case free well?
Yes, all the lenses are designed to be compatible with Freewell 17mm cases, so the cases and lenses within this link are a perfect match. www.freewellgear.com/en/55-smart-phone
What nd filter do I need to purchase for this anamorphic lens?
It has 58mm filter thread.
I see you have a 1.33x neutral light streak lens available. Will this lens streak be affected by the color of the light in the scene, or will the streak be a single neutral lens coating color? I haven't seen a video on this lens yet, is the ideal lens with multi-color streaks coming soon?
Hi, neutral anamorphic lenses create streaks that reflect the color of the light source. For example, an orange light source will produce an orange streak and so on.
It's a pity that it is now impossible to buy this in Russia (

Thank you! This made it easier!
There is another question! What can you say about FW-SH-17NS33 ? How is it different from FW-SH-17LD33 ?
The NS33 gives color flares based on the light (green light = green flare), while the LD33 is anamorphic and only produces golden flares. Both are 1.33x Anamorphic lens.
@@FreewellGear THANKS A LOT!!!
You guys need to make some dedicated manual cinema lenses that can make different types of bokeh/character, thatd be so awesome.
Hi, please check out our 1.7x telephoto lens, offering a reasonable zoom and a pleasing bokeh effect without flares: www.freewellgear.com/en/55-smart-phone. We’ll also share your feedback with the concerned team for further consideration.
Can we get bokeh with these lenses? I dont always want everything in focus. I love the gold flares
Hi Leon, With Our Anamorphic lenses you can certainly achieve distinctive oval bokeh and cinematic horizontal flares by squeezing the image horizontally. This effect adds depth and an artistic feel, especially when using wide apertures.
btw when you crop into the 1x lens on the iphone, it stays the same quality up to 2x. This is because it uses a bigger portion of its sensor.
Thanks for your input. We recommend the 1x lens for superior image quality over 1.3x to 2x. As 1x uses the entire sensor, minimizing distortion and enhancing low-light performance in most conditions.
Oh, that’s good to know. I just looked it up, and that’s how it works. It’s like a crop sensor camera.
I hate flares…
Flares can add a cool cinematic touch, giving depth and drama to your shots. They emphasize light and can make your footage feel more dynamic. But if it's not your style, no worries.
