I once heard someone say “there’s more personality in your flaws than your perfections”, that comes to me often with silly little art oopsies on models

It's always so frustrating when you rig your own things, and see all the flaws, get irritated with being unable to fix it at the moment, and feeling like everyone else has everything sorted out so easily and cleanly. :') Thank you for sharing this cause it's really hard to not feel like a sham when looking to so many other amazing artists daily.

      @koziitwo  2 місяці тому +3

Yeah, it can be really rough tbh, especially because we all like to try to post things that cover up the flaws as best as we can, so everything looks even more shiny and pretty on social media.. And we see those really pretty posts, vs our own work, and it's like.. UGH.
But nobody's ever perfect! Just gotta keep workin!

As someone who wants to really get into live2d rigging and modeling it makes me feel a lot better about myself to know that people who have been doing this for a long time or people who are good at it have some flaws in their models just as beginners would. Not only that but like I’ve been watching a lot of tutorials that make it seem so easy and perfect and seeing all these amazing people on Twitter and UA-cam has sort of brought my self esteem down because what I did never turned out like that, but really thank you for making this video because it definitely brought my self esteem up and that I shouldn’t feel bad about comparing myself to others who do this because they make mistakes too.

This is true in art, objects, and even personalities. As we say in narrative writing, it's the flaws that make a story or character interesting.
It's not about finding or making the perfect thing but making the perfect imperfect thing. About the flaws being minor to you, on a subjective level, or even a positive. A charm point.
Impressive models are cool but models with small flaws or clunkiness have a charming allure that literal perfection can't beat.

  • @RubixOne86

I find perfection is boring. Tiny imperfections can elevate the charm of models/art/streams/etc, makes them more endearing even. I think this is why Vtuber fans love the scuff that happens during streams. For models, I find that if it looks good in motion (like your model), you're golden.

My lord. I paint warhammer minis and the amount of times I messed up on a small highlight or have a small bit of a paint in an area where I didnt want to go always autistically bothers me. Or how when I do my varnishes, effects such as I did for candles or lamps no longer look bright. A lot of people may compliment my pics and from a tabletop perspective it looks fine, but I swear I just wonder how people can make things look so nice in such a short amount of time where I see a mistake after 8 hours on one dude and I can't ignore it anymore.

My chibi model had a tiny hole in one of its bangs that I didn't notice until months after I'd gotten it. Just one of those tiny little eraser tool miss clicks, I imagine. Couldn't help but notice it every time I looked at it from then on, even though it was so tiny that I doubt anyone else even saw it. Was easy enough to fix on my own, thankfully.

I am still finding imperfections in my own model and there are only 38 layers... as when ya make multiple toggles make sure they work with each other lol
And if you are like me and rig your own you as no money will find out the hard way if you forgot to fix something, so even simple models as people would describe it has imperfections lol Of course most imperfections from simple models comes from inexperience
Still does not mean you can't just use it, as you can use something even if it is just it with no tracking on...just don't use the broken toggles till they are fixed lol

I can’t even with this… your telling me, when kronii says she’s perfect, she’s a human being who is flawed? I can’t, it’s not true. Next you’re gonna say John wick isn’t a documentary on real events…
Seriously though, and I don’t know the answer to this question, but how do you stop fandoms to being a cult like following? I can go with Hollywood stars, VTuber, music industry like K-POP, UA-camrs, streamers, political parties, the like. When I was younger, yeah I had that too, but I have a computer in my pocket at all times and can research anything I can think of.
So the people I followed, the actors and actresses, where I saw every movie they’ve been in, was connected to Jeffery Epstein, I absolutely dropped them faster than a bad habit. People can like what they’ve watched or listened too, but being consumed by it and following every word? People have to be smarter than this.
Even the person I trust my news 80% of the time, secular talk, I know he’s not always right and I pay attention to every word that is said, to make sure I don’t need to do corrections or hear a claim where it requires more research.
The only loyalty a person should have, is family, and those closest of friends. People you actually talk to. Example, you kozii. We as a fandom don’t know each other, our conversations won’t go beyond this UA-cam chat and videos. Don’t know your hobbies, hang out spots, what you dress like, even seeing a flesh tubers, you don’t know them, because the conversations are not face to face.
I love how you talk, like your model, like your ideas, I like listening to you, but without actually any physical interactions, for all I know, you train yorkies to fight chickens. We as a fan base, will never truly know who you are, which needs to be drilled in everyone’s head, there is no relation that goes beyond, you like talking to us and we like talking to you.
Feel free to like the art and appreciate the artist, there’s no shame in liking their stuff. Just make sure you don’t get consumed by it and forget your actual life.

Oh, no, Kronii is built different, no worries. 😌
This video was actually supposed to be a bit of a different, simpler take, though.. Mostly for creative people that think something needs to be perfect before it's 'done'. Can make mistakes in art! xD
