    Beautiful cake, as usual! I have a question- I'm doing a similar cake soon, but the ruffles will have a thin gold trim along the ruffled edge. Do you think I should add this before or after putting them on the cake? Thank you! Love your work!

    When you say condition the fondant with shortening what do you mean?

      I just mean work some shortening into it so it is more softer and workable;)

      Mine doesn't always either;) I feel like the fondant you are using makes a big difference. And with practice, you get faster.
