You add so many little tips and techniques. You have improved my tying soo much. And your patterns have helped ncteased my catch rate. I am really enjoying my fishing and a lot of the credit is yours. Thank you.
Hi Vladimir, love the way you present and explain the materials, tools, small details tying tips etc in this slightly new format I think?...really nice fly using jig off beads which I'm using more and more...all the best to you and yours
Thank you and thank you. I was not tying for a month almost. One screw on my vise got broken and i had to wait for it to be delivered from US I am glad you like the feather mechanic II. I like both books. A while ago i did a review on first part. Its one of my favorite fly tying books
@@Oholisfliesandfishing just finished 100 klinks #18-12 heading to Süd Tirol today. Was great to complete them all as uniform as I could get it. Problem with having the book is I see other flies I want to tie but have to keep myself focused. I’ll have to be patient and get the first book next Father’s Day..- thanks for sharing your skills, techniques and process it’s really helped me improve my fly tying.
G’morning Ollie. Long time no see. Hope you’re doing well. That’s a very nice looking little nymph. No doubt it will catch fish anywhere and everywhere. Thanks for sharing it and your techniques with us. Ciao for now.
Hi Ken, glad i could help. Regarding the clamp, its nicely done and holds materials well. That said... Cheap stuff from bookstores will do almost the same. Is it giving you something extra ... Not so much. I do like to use it more than plastic ones i have. This one can be more precise in placing the material. But not much... It does hold it more tightly but again... You arent pulling material out of the clip so that tight hold isnt important.... I love to use it because its beautiful tool and it wont break over the years. (Plastic one i have feom bookstore is more than 10yrs old) Hope this helps 😀
First item on the vice; hook, next item; bead. There is no mention of these at all. I've matched up Flow TJ850 Jig #12, and Tungsten Head Turner Gold 1/8".
i am not sure i understand what is your point here? If its exact model of the hook and size of the bead its irrelevant. People can use whatever they have. Following procedures blindly without thinking is not helping. Since you are regular visitor on my channel, did you get the impression i am suggesting people to follow recipes or to learn techniques? If first is true than one of us is very wrong. Maybe i didnt make it clear or you didnt get my message. Either way, i would like you to tell me? I am quite surprised because you are literally the only person posting negative comments. All the best, Vladimir
Glad you like it. Regarding clip, its good. Holds materials well, well built tool, it is thinner than most bookstore clips so i can come closer to the hook.. That said, can i justify the usual price..i cant. 90%, if not more, will be the same with any other clip. I like it because its beautiful tool. Looks better than my 10+ years old plastic clip from bookstore.
@@Oholisfliesandfishing I don't think there is a fly called a 'pork pie' (maybe you could invent one!), here in Yorkshire a favourite food is the pork pie, often with mushy peas. Its yummy 'street food' that nobody can resist! so i call GRHE and PT nymphs pork pies because trout find them irresistible!
