I am literally going to Sixth Form this September, Thank you so so so much for the advice. It's definitely well appreciated. By the way, I am sorry you didn't know this info earlier...
Heavy on specification!! I just finished my GCSEs (results day soon) and my teachers never rly talked about the specification... I only found out about it near the end of the year and it's so helpful😫 why don't teachers tell us about the importance of the spec😭
Trust me they will EMPHASISE on it for a levels, I didn’t even know what a spec was at GCSEs but because of that I didn’t see the importance of it for a levels. You’re lucky since now you know the importance of it so early on you will start on a better path than I did 😭 good luck for your results and your sixth form journey, it’s not as hard as they say but it requires A LOT more effort😊
@@MariamKamara. thank you so much for this video and your reply, these kind of videos are so helpful and it's so nice of you to take the time to give advice to ppl going into sixth form🩷🩷 good luck on anything you pursue in the future :)
@@GraceLawal-zn5sx try not to stress out, just make sure you’ve prepared and have all your equipment and get some rest. Making friends won’t be so hard as you’re all in a new setting and classes won’t be hard just yet, simply focus and listen and complete all assignments set. Good luck ! 😊
You will hate it at first because you won’t understand it but throughout the year I promise if you pay attention, link it to real life, and have a teacher who likes to talk about real life economical situations thats interesting you will love it 🤗 good luck though it will definitely be hard at the beginning !
hiii girlie I’m going into yr 12 soon and this video is super helpful but I do have one question, if you did maths a level is there a certain calculator to buy because I’ve checked everywhere but I haven’t gotten a good answer, can I still use the one I had at gcse or is there another to buy?
Hi, unfortunately I didn’t do maths so I’m not to sure about that, however, I will say u should probably go in for your first week or enrolment day with your GCSE scientific calculator then ask your teacher if you need another. I’m glad to hear the video helped and good luck on your journey (especially if your doing maths 😂) !
It's determined by d skl u are going into. Cuz d one I'm going into said they will give us one but we'll return it after. It also applies to books but we have to give a deposit of £40 then they give us back after. Just check if ur skl offers dat
for my school we need a new one, but we have the chance to buy it from the school at the start of the year, which'll be cheaper. hopefully your sixth form has a similar thing if you do need a new one.
Hi, incase I don’t get around to making that video in time I would suggest watching this video as it summarises everything you really need for sixth form: ua-cam.com/video/qjOHOrB8XBE/v-deo.html I will say though DO NOT BUY TEXT BOOKS because most of the time your school library will have it and will lend it to you for your sixth form stay duration. Also if you find throughout the year that it’s harder to stay organised or things are to heavy in your bag, you can always opt to go digitally and get an iPad and a pen to keep folders, notes, exam papers and online textbooks in. Hope that helps and good luck on your journey stay focused and you will get good grades God willing 🤗
I'm starting sixth form I got accepted but one my a levels english literature I got 5 instead of a 6 there said I can still join cuz I passed everything but there gonna test me see if I'm doing good but I'm stressing if I don't do good and there take me out the class
Don’t stress, if you truly try your hardest and put effort in to revise then God willing you will get the results you want. In the meantime do some practice papers and questions similar to what they’re going to test you on for the next week (at least 1 every day if you can). Ik Lit can be hard but you’ve got this inshAllah , good luck !💕
Hi, I would most definitely suggest revising as soon as you start because then things don’t pile up an you’re able to check what you know and don’t whilst your learning it. I would suggest going over your lesson after school and practicing questions and creating flash cards which u can review regularly so if you don’t know them you can ask your teacher. Good luck ! ☺️
Also make sure to practice exam questions after a while so that your comfortable doing them earlier and your able to get higher scores, you’ll start to notice patterns
Trust me I know it’s scary but you will 100% be fine ! Honestly, go in and simply say hi to people in your class even if it means your the first to talk because it will help release tension, everyone is practically in the same boat but it’s a growing experience. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you have a great sixth form experience (specifically by not making my mistakes 😂) ❤️❤️
if i didnt meet grade requirments for some subjects do you think they will let me in? im rlly desperate for chemistry i got a 6 in chem and a 5 in maths from my mocks so they put me down for applied science 😭
It depends on your doing at uni, if you are going to do medicine, then chemistry and biology is a must . If your course at uni requires a certain subject you have to do EVERYTHING in your power to not do applied. Hopefully you get the grade requirement to be able to do the subject you want, if not I would try looking into asking teachers at the school or looking at different schools who let you have a lower requirement. A friend of mine stayed at her schools sixth form so she could do the subjects she wanted. Hope that helps and good luck 🤗

Out of everything here. The study buddy was definitely the most beneficial thing for me as well. Even if they did different subjects.
