Misleading graphic tbf the one under Poch is between minutes 60 and 90 when we’re chasing the game and the one under Maresca is for the full 90.
We do still have a bit more control than last season but if you watch the games and not spreadsheets it’s still basketball football we’re just having more success (so far)🤷

@@mikeyminit5059 slight bit more presence in midfield and the full back inverts into midfield every now and then🤷
Still end to end basketball football for the most part, pretty standard rudimentary 4-2-3-1 there’s no reinventing of the wheel here
The thing I’ve been most impressed with is their does appear to be a mentality shift that’s happened that could be, at least in part, down to the manager as we certainly appear more ruthless and arrogant which is a good thing and seems to match his overall character and demeanor (which I also like)
For the record I like that he’s kept it relatively simple, nothing worse in this world than a so called ‘tactico’ ruining football😊

@@CB-lw7ty of course. By End of November this should be clear. Because Ange also had a good start at Tottenham then things went south. I am not a Chelsea fan but I appreciate that there is improvement. Last season, I failed to understand Poch. Reason was, he had all the attacking strength but the team even on counter had very slow breaks. That Chelsea were so fast to get the ball from attack to their goalkeeper than from a defender to their strikers. The goalkeeper at times had more touches than their strikers, I struggled to understand their games. Soon I know teams will start sitting deep for Chelsea, then they will take control of ball possession. But at least we need Utd, Chelsea back in UCL. They gave memorable nights there, not the current lot of English clubs that are eliminated by teams we have never watched play.

However, there are very very good signs that Chelse are moving in a very good direction finally after a nightmare two years. But he did save us against Bournemouth, he made some unreal saves against Brighton, his cross collection is top tier. I also think the defensive issues are being overblown a bit by the Brighton game. Not to mention, this back line is only 6 games in together, with Colwill playing different position to last season, Cucurella having major surgery and Fofana being out injured for almost 2 years. If Chelsea had Osimhen instead of Jackson, then Palmer should have around 20 or 25 assists plus his goals. Total of 50 or 55 G/A
Note: Jackson has lost around 30 big chances since 2023, Osimhen could have at least scored half of those goals or more.
With this, Chelsea needs to start Nkunku, which has a better definition but also can link so good playing as 9 with Palmer as 10, Nkunku has a better GX and dribbling / assists that Jackson, Trust me, Chelsea could be dangerous with Nkunku as 9.

Its still way too early to form judgement on Maresca lets get to the half way point of the season. As last season everyone was singing big anges praises then what happened lol so far its looking good hopefully this continues during the busy period of the season.

I believe the ground work was done by poch, just as the ground work was being done when tuchel took over from lampard...the teams were already primed for success...i believe the same for this current side, thats why its so easy for maresca to implement his ideas so fast.
