Thank you so much sir for explaining difficult topics and making them so easy for us to understand. Was finding it very difficult to understand this topic by reading books. Hats off on your explanation. Please continue your good work.
a brief story and experience about the topic helps in making your video curious and also at the same time gives alertness about the severity of the topic...Thank you very much sir.
Thank you very much sir, while giving class 2 I have find your videos so helpful.... people are charging 8000 to 10000 rupees for motor mep doubt clearing classes....and you make all free...hats off you....

This.. Video helped me passed my exams... Thank you sir.... .... Ur greatness is just a reflection of yours experience.. Which help us to polish our knowledge.... 😊
Great explanation for k value. K value to be taken from name plate fitted on inside cover. Free wheeling also checked to ensure rotor is turning with er blower on. Animation as usual is superb.
I Do have Many Questions in My mind , With all due respect , please allow me to put questions before you ,It's not Specifically to the topic or it might be , but related to Marine Engineering. Thanks
Hi Ramesh nicely presented. One point I want to insist is push and pull to be done by hand only. No external means like chain block or hydraulic jack. It may sound silly, I put this point in,for the benifit of junior engineers
Thanks a lot Sir.Nicely Explained.I feel no need to slacken lub-oil pump housing covers...Still can measure..Not very sure..have done the job.Not very sure at this juncture.
Imp thing i think is slackening the bearing housing cover..the blower side bearing...that is the key..Turbine Side maybe not reqd...but to reduce the frictions and be sure that yr readings are correct...good practice is to slack
Great explanation sir , totally understood and will never forget as I got a clear visual idea along with your explanation. Expecting more videos from you Sir. Thank you ❤️
Thank you so much sir for explaining this topic very easily. I have one question regarding turbocharging cleaning ...sir for a longer period of time like 6 months nobody cleaned the turbocharger in that case what am I suppose to do? how to clean it?
Very good teaching method sir! Do we also have the K, L and M clearances in case the turbocharger has a bush bearing between turbine and compressor instead of roller bearing on either side?
Good day sir, for measuring M clearance , I think it should be first bringing the shaft to centre at K value and then moving it to right and measure K2 and then substracting K2-K should give M clearance. please suggest sir
When ga sis exiting the unit it has got velocity..ie minetic energy...Before the ectry to TC Blade there is no velocity..The kinetic energy has got converted ton press energy. As the press incrases marginally, the Temp also incrase as per gas laws
Hello sir, First of all Thanking you sir, Sharing yours wonderful, wide knowledge, and spending valveable time to make videos to understand clear cut. I have an dout sir, RH 131 Turbocharger there is semi floating and full floating bearing on both turbine and compressor side, is there any specific role on it. Y sir it can be same of four bearing, two in full floating bearing and two semi floating bearing. Sir If my question is wrong sir, please apologize me sir.
As long as the bearings are in place, the labrynths will not get damaged. Pulling and pushing are supposed to be done with the bearings till in place to retain the centreline..Ofcours ethe bearing securing bolts re loosened but Bearing are NOT removed
Sir , in DG SHIPPING ELEARNING , its written like this way , so confused sir Pull the rotor shaft towards compressor side until impeller comes in contact with the insert and determine k2, impeller clearance L=k-k2, thrust rotor shaft towards turbine side until turbine disc and nozzle ring comes in contact with each other and measure k1 , disc clearance M= K1-k What u hav explained i understood sir but here they hav said k2 instead if k1 and viceversa .Pls correct me sir
I have a doubt sir.... We slightly remove bearing and we measure L and M clearance ... Then how we come to conclusion about bearing did not wear down....
This is only for L and M clearance. Bearing wear out would probably show up on K value changing. But regular maintenance and inspection by OEM is a must. IF you stick to it Nothing will happen. If there is a Lub Failure and bearing starts to wear out, there is nothing much you can do. It would have blown up before you realised it Ha Ha
Gud day sir, I have a doubt. Sir initially before dismantling we measure K value so at this instance we just open tc cover and measure it. But after assembly at what position do we measure K ? If the shaft is already fully pushed towards turbine or pulled comp side then this K value will change. So do we put a mark on shaft before initial measurement and den after assembly we bring d shaft at tht mark n den measure K ?
Hi.. a good doubt...while assembling, before I fit the blower end bearing and TE bearing and tighten it..I will take the K1 and K2..then complete the assembly process and finally take K..you should get back the K which you got before disassembly..Obviously you also have a look at L and M.Hope you are satisfied....

Thank you so much sir for explaining this topic very easily.
I have one question regarding turbocharging cleaning ...sir for a longer period of time like 6 months nobody cleaned the turbocharger in that case what am I suppose to do? how to clean it?
Many have gotten into trouble by commencing cleaning suddenly ..Best is to continue cleaning after dry docking and never allow soot to accumulate.
Thanks Sir
Thanks
Thank you so much ✌🏾
Sir, please explain about thrust clearance
Thank you sir👍
Thank you so much sir..very clear explanation 🥰..
Sir can you make another video regarding lub. Oil system of t/c...
Sure I will
thanku sir
thks sir.
As the exhaust side is labyrinth sealed, moving the rotor would not bring the labyrinths in contact?
Please sir make one video on crosshead bearing clearances .
Thanks. Will try and do later after I do other topics. But I guess there are enough materials available.
Any video on VIT & SUPER VIT, please do post it sir, will be very helpful. Thank you 🙏
Will remember. Will do it sometime in future

thank u sir, Sir in free floating and semifloating bearing turbochargers whether l m clearances are there?
Surely.
sir can you make a video on A.E camshaft removal? one piece like DK 20 and MAN BW 23/30H split piece. thanks. it will help us.
😀Animating these is very tough...Need lots of time..
Sir can u make a video on different governors pls❤️
Some good videos by my friend Venkatesan from HIMT are there on you tube..why repeat....
Very good teaching method sir! Do we also have the K, L and M clearances in case the turbocharger has a bush bearing between turbine and compressor instead of roller bearing on either side?
Yes. All T/Cs have these clearances
@@rmetcvideos Thank you!
😇😇😇
Good day sir,
for measuring M clearance , I think it should be first bringing the shaft to centre at K value and then moving it to right and measure K2 and then substracting K2-K should give M clearance. please suggest sir
correct..You dont have to BRING it to center. TAKE the value when it is fixed. Then loosen the bearing and shift it to right anf left for K1 and K2
@@rmetcvideos ok sir
Sir,how does exhaust gas temperature increse from 400 at engine outlet to 515 at turbocharger inlet??
When ga sis exiting the unit it has got velocity..ie minetic energy...Before the ectry to TC Blade there is no velocity..The kinetic energy has got converted ton press energy. As the press incrases marginally, the Temp also incrase as per gas laws

Same doubt , whether L and M clearance is there or not on t/c having semi/full bearings
sir i have doubt
while pushing or pulling the shaft, labyrinth gland will resist the movement right?
As long as the bearings are in place, the labrynths will not get damaged. Pulling and pushing are supposed to be done with the bearings till in place to retain the centreline..Ofcours ethe bearing securing bolts re loosened but Bearing are NOT removed

What i have shown is as per ABB manual..you can check it out on internet also...Maybe elearning guys have made a small mistake..
Sir, does the turbine side have these clearance? While measuring these k value, won't the turbine wheel touch its casing?
The clearance is much more on the turbine side..so the blower side will touch earlier
