Hmm, I just started to switch to ACES and funnily enough I need to move on from DJV, with OCIO v2 DJV will not open. It's just obsolete I think... Trying Cinetrack currently.
I get this error when I try this Couldn't run external animation player with command ['djv', 'C:\\tmp\\0001.png', '-speed', '24.0', '-in_out', '1', '24', '-frame', '24', '-time_units', 'Frames'] [WinError 2] The system cannot find the specified file what could it be?
that raises a couple questions: how does blender know where djv is installed? does the portable djv version work as well or only the installed version? do I have to integrate djv into the system path? what is the difference between the File Paths>Render Output path in the preferences of Blender and the 'Output' definable in the Properties>Output tab (workspace Shift+F7)? which one changes the tmp path to another location (or is that a different setting altogether?) does the preview require eevee/cycles? does it need a saved blend file? what else am I missing to preview with djv?@@BlenderBob
@@BlenderBob I feel like for most applications linear works just fine, doesn't it? I feel like if you're working using blender one actually has the opportunity to avoid aces and acescg, lol
@@vism0k All compositing is done in linear but you still need a view transform at the end. Rec709, Rec 2020 etc. But you can't have a final product in linear. So what if I give you film footage show in Red format and some in Alexa. How are you going to work with these mix color spaces if you don't use ACES?

You can use Workbench render engine also
DVJ is really fast, but unfortunately it doesn't support OCIO v2 yet, so DJV will not work with Blender Agx :/

Means your files don’t exist. If you render in the tmp folder they probably got deleted at reboot

after integrating djv into the system path and a reboot it worked! (that answers some of the questiones posed before this reply)@@BlenderBob
is there a reason your using anyware to use blender on a linux computer instead of just running blender on your computer locally?
Because I’m working remotely for the office. I’m not setup ACES at home.
