@Enduro_kangs lol a drug addict that surrounds themselves with UA-cam and music ? You don’t have a clue about my life yet your sure I’m just some lazy introvert .I’m. It sure wether these were meant to be words of encouragement or you don’t know how to talk, I would like to believe that you were trying to be kind so I’ll just assume that , thanks . I am pretty active, I do need to find some new hobbies but I don’t sit around all day, I have seen a lot of death in the last two years, maybe that has something to do with it . Covid related for three of them and they weren’t old people or smokers just un vaccinated ..

beside all psychological and philosophic implication one might or might not share , you have to realize these guys like Alex Tommy and Lynn are athletes of another level ... not only they are 100 % fit, but their mental strength is unbelievable ... they are a class by themselves ... like the Huber bros. from Bavaria !

If Im not mistaken, Alex is the first to climb El Capitan in free solo, using an easiest route than "the nose" or "dawn wall". Those both route are still considered as impossible route to do in free solo or free base.

@hi12345616 Still not The Nose or The Dawn Wall. Alex free soloed Free Rider. I dare say The Nose will never be free soloed because of 'the king swings' and The dawn Wall will never be free soloed because it's technically much harder than Free Rider and The Nose. If you don't know what 'the king swings' is on the nose you shouldn't be commenting here. If you DO know, take responsibility for making a lame, vague statement.

i dont care what anyone says, hands down these climbers are the best athletes in the world. Look at what pioneer Lynn Hill did, amazing. And Alex Honnold is in a league of his own, free soloing el cap in less than 4 hrs?? (if i read that correctly) dont get me wrong, there are some olympic athletes that do amazing things, i always held decathletes in high regard, thought they were some of the best in world, but the rest of em better watch out for these up and coming rock climbers doing some pretty sick stuff! And i heard its gonna be an olympic event in 2020?? cool as hell, it damn well should be if olympics are about showcasing the best athletes in the world!!! God Bless all my brothers and sisters!!!!!!

I’m a carpenter so I’m always climbing 30-40 foot letters and then onto a 12/12 pitch roof , no rope ., just some 2x4 s but I totally get the respect you must have and the fears u have to over come .. to me I think I could dive into this

The guy has an incredible story - watch the Netflix show. He has had a lot of setbacks - including loosing part of an index finger and it doesn't stop him still. "Triumph of the spirit" may be a cliche, but it is true for this man!! A true athlete and and hero.

@@Jj-gi2uv I like your comment as I like people who push themselves to be physically tough. Many people complain about physical ailments and never do anything that challenges them physically. This is also good for the spirit! Those same people ask for prayers that they can get better physically. I say pray that they'll get off the couch and go for a walk!

Though as a long ago has-been Yosemite climber I totally "get it", and in my not-so-humble opinion free soloists are the greatest athletes in the world (all other climbers no matter how good are mere pretenders to the throne), I think back to what Warren Harding said back in the early-1970s: "Climbing is a lot of hard work to accomplish absolutely nothing!" So for me to say that free soloists are the greatest athletes in the world in the context of what Harding said 50 years ago, I suppose that means that free soloing is the pinnacle of achieving absolutely nothing. After all, it's not curing cancer or feeding the starving, right?
