Always loved DQ ... I can only imagine made me cry "the ugly cry" my girls call it- I was so moved. The Holy Spirit was shining through Dennis through that movie - amazing! The part where he sticks his hand out the window of the truck with his son driving, I felt his joy and freedom of finally knowing Jesus as his Lord and Redeemer ❤
Soul Surfer/Frequency are my absolute absolute favorite movies of Dennis Quaids and Carrie Underwood/Helen Hunt also starred in Soul Surfer/twister these are super great movies and they are absolutely 5 star movies all the way!!:)@Pastor Greg Laurie
Story is similar to Vincent Furnier (aka Alice Cooper). Raised a Christian, fell away until his wife left him until he cleaned up his life, so he got clean and recommitted his life to Christ. He asked his preacher if he had to stop his music career, but his preacher told him if he can stay strong, he can be that positive example of Christ in an industry that is severely lacking!

I was thinking at 13 minutes in, when Dennis was talking about why he's outspoken about his faith in Yeshua Messiah, and I thought that someone, either Greg or Dennis might have mentioned that Yeshua said that if you deny Me before men, then I will deny before My Father. I would consider that as my greatest reason to disciple others about my faith in Jesus Yeshua.

Probably wouldn’t be welcome in your Baptist church or synagogue. We are saved by grace and not that of ourselves lest any man should boast. Jesus reached people like that outside the synagogue because he knew they wouldn’t be there. He said the well people don’t need a physician. He’s not pretending to be self-righteous, he confesses his sin before millions of people. If you think he needs a good stoning anyway, you need to examine your own life. I know plenty of married folks that Jesus would say, divorced in their hearts years ago. You might want to visit an AA meeting sometime. There is a lot of love, acceptance and hope there. It’s real.

Okay... how does an actor like Dennis Quaid profess a Christian faith, yet he's performing roles in shows (Lawman Bass Reeves), where he's repeatedly using God's name in vain?
It's called acting.
Sometimes I have concerns about how Laurie puts the "Christian STamp of Approval" on Celebrities. He gives the Beatles credit for him becoming a Christian. Come on, Greg. REally?? Some apologists have pointed this out as well. I'm NOT the only one (The Messed UP Church, etc..).. I pray that He doesnt' continually lift up certain Celebs who are "questionable" in their "Faith" just because they are Celebrities. I have no idea about Quaid. Im just sayin...

FIRST...I study God's Word and Pastor Greg Laurie has NEVER preached ANY OTHER GOSPEL than GOD'S WORD.
Second...celebrity or not...they are human beings, and Jesus died for them too. And JUST LIKE YOU, salvation is a growing process (1 Peter 2:2).
If Dennis Quaid is TRULY sincere in accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior... then YOU WILL SEE his growth.

I've never been to the actual harvest church. But I've listened to Pastor Laurie for several years. Over the radio or online whichever . First off I will say from listening for a long time to him, is that he does love music, like most people do. And the most important is, I've also never heard a sermon once from Greg Laurie that would lead people astray or outside of what the word of God says in the Bible.
And if you read the Bible you should also understand, that all of the disciples of Jesus were all riff raff, thugs whatever you want to call them these days. They were far from being upstanding citizens. That's who Jesus chose as his disciples. Not what is considered to be "perfect" people. Christian are supposed to reach out. Jesus always mingled with sinners, or how else do you tell those who don't believe.
