Vladdy has to play lights out in the 2025 season. In fact so does Soto for Vladdy's sake or ownership will think the big big $$ market is overblown....which it is anyway.
Arbitration is the first step for Vladdy , step 2 is a long term contract , something like 10 years 420 mil with lots of performance incentives for him and the team. Trade Bo Bichette to free up some cap space for a starting pitcher like Pablo Lopez or Jack Flaherty . Next sign a decent reliever like Tanner Scott or AJ Minter. And then either through trade or FA sign a decent power hitting outfielder to bat behind Vladdy. Jays have some good minor leaguers that might be big league ready like Bloss , Martinez , Clase and Jimenez. Could be very interesting this year. AL east is looking scary good.
I saw this morning on the MLB Network that the Twins traded for DFA'd Dodgers farmhand Diego Cartaya, a catcher and one of their top prospects in 2023. They traded minor-league outfielder Jose Vasquez. I wonder if Atkins knew about this possibility?
Avoiding arbitration with Guerrero doesn't really seem like a good faith move on behave of management, rather it seems like a must do. The less time these guys sit in front of Vlad's people trying to grind every penny out of a deal, the better but the overall negotiations of keeping him in Toronto is not going well IMO. I don't think Shapkins are capable of good faith negotiations and you guys are spot on with the development team/scouting side; they are weak. This is another treading water move. They are just kicking the can down the road but the road seems like a deadend when you consider making this team a consistent contender. Don't let them use an Alek Manoah return to form to obfuscate their ineptitude. The Manoah arbitration is something they love; a player with the talent, over coming an injury, they can overpay(in sense of the how it pertains to paying an injured player) and then squawk about how great of a fiscal deal it is to Rogers brass. If it doesn't work out for Manoah, the arbitration is only for one year and they will take any bad year he has as ammo for future talks. Keep up the good work
Brayden your right Vlad wanted a long long term contract after the 2022 season the choke against Seattle in the playoffs That was the time to sign him they could have given him the Bryce Harper 13 years 339 million.Well they complained he is not consistent he has 1 great year 1 okay good year so they were unsure what he was worth Now because of Ohtani and Soto that the Blue Jays bid for doulble what Vlad was worth 2 years ago , As long as he has a good year this year He is going to want a minimum of 13 years 450 Million He would be 38 years old at the end of the contract over his prime If they signed after the 2022 season he would be only 36 years old just at the end of his prime
Realistically, Vlad is no Soto. Vlads’ record just doesn’t warrant a comparison. That said, hometown discounts are an illusion and Vlad will either get paid (probably somewhere around 425 for 10 year imo) or he has to be traded. Just don’t recall a player who hasn’t taken money over loyalty. Jays management has blown the opportunity to buy Vlad at a bargain a few year back (honestly, I wouldn’t have bought him either!) If management doesn’t sign him before spring season, the only card to play is trade him at the trade deadline. Let’s see what happens if the Jays are in the hunt.
Daulton Varsho 8.2 Million a bad hitter its like the Kiermair deal just 2 Mill less Alejandro Kirk 4.6 Million a good hitter +Kirk should get more though he is younger than Daulton Varsol
This has nothing to do with nothing Now he will play this year so they can trade him He’s not going to sign with the jays , they will not pay him 500 mil He’s not worth it , let another team pay that albatross of a contract for his inconsistency
Get Richard Griffin on if possible.
Enough with Hector. He is just guessing.
Glad they were able to avoid arbitration with Vlad! That keeps negotiations open at least.
I'm not very optimistic, though.

Good ideas. I would suggest going bold and trade Bichette to the Dodgers for their no. 1 prospect C/OF Daulton Rushing.
I can't imagine them losing Vladdy...he is quite literally the ENTIRE OFFENCE. They have nothing else at all if Bo doesn't return to form.

Rogers is getting ready for the upcoming lockout at the end of the CBA. The owner will go to the maps for a hard Salary cap except LA NY clubs.
The players union doesn’t want a salary cap. Why would they?
Sorry, love the channel, just tired of Gomez. He's just not reliable.
Fair, first thing I said to brayden when I saw the report
Daulton Varsho 8.2 Million a bad hitter its like the Kiermair deal just 2 Mill less Alejandro Kirk 4.6 Million a good hitter +Kirk should get more though he is younger than Daulton Varsol
The best defensive Centre Fielder in baseball kinda sums up his contract.
Zack Pop not worth his money at all!
This has nothing to do with nothing
