Good morning from Cape Cod 🦈 first off I hope your health is continuing to improve. You're a font of information. I had a 64 GMC 7 ton dump, they had a 401 V6, I can contest to the fact that it was a pig on gas, about 3 mi to the gallon. I had no idea such an engine as the Toro flow existed. Thanks for sharing these automotive tidbits. Keep up the great work and the awesome content 👍✌️🇺🇲
I can't imagine how many times Steve has been stung by bees. It's gotta be a regular thing for him. Also, ticks... That looks like prime tick territory. The last time I visited a salvage yard, I came home with a bunch of them.
The gas GMC V6 was fairly common, back in the day. While I had heard of the Toro-Flow, this is my first time seeing one! GM's later attempt at the 'one engine block serving as both gas and diesel' , the Oldsmobile 350, was a big hit. Until things went really bad, real quick!
I was mechanic in the early 70s my Shop had truck inspection lane, never saw one and didn’t even know they made it. You enlighten me all the time Steve.
Another great truck episode! Great to see this diesel engine, it's one I've never been familiar with, another lesson learned in the junkyard classroom! Thanks Steve!👍
Ah back when buying diesel at the pump was cheap. Really was less than gas until the second gen Ram in 1994 became a hit, now it's higher than 92 octane.
Hey Steve, I hope you’re getting back to normal. I’ve been having a lot of health problems myself And it’s certainly not fun. Your prognosis, as I understand it, is better than mine, which makes me happy for you. I’ve got you on my prayer list my friend. Peace, DrRick
Afternoon Steve, pulling for you buddy and all these truck revids were really quite informative as i think i had missed a couple the first time around , see you soon:-)
You should find the frankenstein of GMC truck engines to do a video on. The 702 ci gas V12. I had one in a 62 GMC cabover. A good engine but terrible fuel economy.
Steve, that ad that said "Torq-Flow" was a Chevy Truck ad. Maybe Chevy Trucks did offer these GMC-produced V-6 Diesel engines, but marketed them as Torq-Flow.
American Bosch was a creation of the German Bosch to fill Department of Defense contracts, mostly with the White LDS and LDT multifuel engines. This is a rotary style pump which reciprocates a single plunger for all injections and the plunger rotates to distribute the injection. In addition, timing advances with engine speed.
Ford was lacking a medium duty diesel for their trucks and that is why Caterpillar designed the 3408 V8 in conjunction with Ford. The engine was produced up until the late 1980's but is still available from re manufacturers and still is popular for medium duty applications.
We're all pulling for you Steve. Hope to see you back in the Junkyard soon

We have a 1966 GMC 4000 tilt cab on our farm with a Toro Flow diesel in it.
I always learn something firm your videos, Steve, but this Toro-Flow diesel thing blew my mind!
@Repent-and-believe-in-Jesus1 Dude, back off. We're talking about Toro-Flow diesels here!

Might be where that MOSQUITO bit him and he got encephalitis-- NOT a good thing, only topped by West Nile mosquitos
We hope you are finished with rehab Steve and hope to see you back at the crawl again soon. 🙏

Except the 350 gas and the 350 diesel are not the same block.
@@mattlf9120 True, the diesel block is a modified/beefed up version of the gas block. The diesel was never a 'clean sheet' design.
Love the Snagglepuss flourish at the end, "Exit stage left"

Somebody went through a lot of trouble putting that Chevy cab on that truck and swapping out the Chevy hood for a GMC hood.

I never seen the clock and tach in the mid 60s trucks. That was cool
Thank you Steve❤
Thanku steve
From what I've read, there was no V4. Just an inline 4 (53 or 71 series) 😊
Steve, you never mentioned the horse power or torque of the ToroFlo
One of the brochures showed 130-170hp
Must have been a typo...torq vs toro
